I know this has probably been gone over before, but I'm still looking for an LED Flashlight for the HTC Incredible. Any word on if there is one or if there is one in the works? I'd prefer to not root my phone.
Can anyone recommend a good flashlight app that uses the camera flash LEDs that works with the Incredible?I miss that functionality. Had it with my Nokia 5800.I've searched here without much success. Most of the apps I've seen discussed are for other Android phone models.
Has anyone had any issues leaving the LEDs on (using Lampu) as far as heat from the phone? I can assume there was a reason that HTC didnt allow the LEDs to be on for video recording. Not sure if its just current draw or possible heat/damage to the driver circuit for the LEDs.
sorry if someone answered this but I couldn't find it, is there an app for using the flash as a flashlight without going into the camera app? I would prefer a toggle switch like the one made by curve fish, Sent from my ADR6300 using Tapatalk
I cannot seem to find an app that allows the moment to use the LED flash as a flashlight. I noticed that there is one that works for the droid, but when I search for it on the market with my phone I cannot find it.. or any other app that will do it.
When I do some research on the Android SDK website, I know that I have to grant the permission "FLASHLIGHT" in order to use the light. However, I cannot find in the API any methods to control the flash light. But I believe there is a way because I can see so many apps doing this in the Android Market. How can I do so?
1)Can you zoom in while taking a pic with the optical pad? 2)can you take pics in portrait view? 3)best flashlight app? 4)is there a way to change the settings of like the touch screen and the optical pad?
I am really digging it. I turned it on last night and expected it to just make the screen brighter so I could see my door lock and my keys. I was pleasantly surprised to find an actual flashlight on my phone. I was very surprised and impressed both.
Where can I find that exact flashlight app that is in Velocity 0.3? When I look in the market, there are TONS of them and most of them only make the touch screen turn bright.P.S. I did have Velocity 0.3, but went back to just a stock rom with Universal Androot. Google maps, which I actually use a lot, was being very slow and buggy for me.
Having only recently bought a HTC Desire, I am now bugged with a flashlight issue. The led flashlight on my phone does not seem to work at all (neither in camera mode or the new flashlight app in android 2.2). The flash definitely worked when I originally got the phone but now does nothing.
The first one the flashlight led stopped working in any app. It was returned. Now its replacement has another issue with the camera. I'm getting blocky colourful pixelation when the phone is on a gprs connection and I use the camera. At least that didn't happen on the first one. I'm getting seriously fed up with HTC. Will I get one that works properly? Might swap it for Samsung galaxy, but I know I'd miss sense. S there a fix for the camera bug? Updated software? It takes a perfect picture. It just looks wrong before you click the shutter.
So I decided to turn auto brightness on so I can see the screen when I'm outside, but I notice that when I'm in the dark the screen is so dim that the flashlight doesn't work anymore. I searched for a new one with a function to override brightness control but I don't think there is one. Anyone know of one that I may have missed?
First, is there a good reason the captivate does not have a camera flash (aside from the devs thinking the night mode worked 'well enough')? If not: I strongly suggest we get a huge number of people to say they would be interested in buying a flashlight/camera flash add-on for the phone were someone to develop one. After we get a big enough number, we'll kindly forward it to several companies. I took my phone out last night for halloween, and was quite disappointed with the night quality. I'm sure something like this would be profitable at ~$6, but I would pay $10-15 to cover research costs/etc.
A few weeks ago, my camera flash/flashlight stopped working. I didn't know the cause. Occassionally, I noticed the flash would come on very dull before going out again. Then it stopped working completely. Although I was unable to find a thread suggesting that anyone else was having this problem, I figured that my bulbs must have died. I kept meaning to go get it checked out at a Sprint store, but I just wasn't making time to go. Last week, one of the corners on my PhantomSkinz cover got beat up a little bit. I have another set here ready to go (matte instead of the clear), and I was going to put the new skin on, but I decided I should go to the Sprint store to have my flash looked at first just in case they were going to replace my device. So I went this morning.
I waited for about two hours while a tech worked on my phone. I kept being reassured that it would be done soon, so I kept waiting around. When the CS rep brought me my phone, she said that they had been unable to fix the flash. They had replaced the bulbs without success, so they replaced the entire camera and still had no success. Then they did a wipe of my phone, and still the flash wouldn't work. Replacement device should be here tomorrow..............
I've got a rooted Android device (Motorola Photon Q running stock ICS 4.0.4) which happened to have rear camera broken - specifically - the camera connector on motherboard . Before, all the apps I tried were able to switch on the flashlight to use as a torch. Since the camera went broke, none of them work. When opening stock Camera application, it shows front facing camera view. The switch is grayed out. It used to show an error like "failed to initialize" about back camera before showing front camera view, but it does not anymore, after trying to fix the connector I've written my own application to at least debug it and find out where the problem lays, and tried a few ways to light the flash, but no luck.
The question is:
Any way to bypass the checking of back camera (starting it) and going directly to switching on the flashlight? Or is there any general or device-specific way to enable flashlight without camera working (but plugged in, just a few pins of total 32 are lost)? I can provide any specific logs, files or parts of the ROM
I will be getting another motherboard in a few months probably, but before then, I want to challenge this. As of ideas, I was searching and thinking of either creating sth like DroidLED for my device (however I dont know if such approach is still valid under ICS) or somehow switching hardware addresses of back and front camera, so the front one would act like a back one. Both hard or impossible.
Has anyone found a FlashLight App that uses the dual LED Camera Flash as a light source? I have this on my BlackBerry Storm and it works Awesome. Have not had any luck finding one like it for the DROID?
