My charging port ahs a little play in it. is this normal or should it be tight with no play at all
the charging port on the EVO has come loose. :-( It has a little more "play" more than normal. Downside is i have to hold it a certain way to maintain a charge. Times like this i hate. So my question is should i call sprint and cash in on my insurance? or try out the Pre / Wireless charging hack? Heck, Im not sure if i should even take apart my evo and see if I can fix it. How did it get this way? Well, having a car charger that has a Coiled cord will put some tension on it, especially if you are using it (Calls, Surfing, GPS). I have had my Evo since Launch with no issues at all, till now.View 20 Replies View Related

there is a MSN widget so i can receive live instant messages. My friend had one on his nokia n900 and it was pretty cool. Also will the desire allow charging of the phone via a usb connection i.e usb port on a laptop/desktop computer?View 10 Replies View Related
I have an EVO on order with Amazon (early Oct delivery - ouch!), hoping to get one locally before then but at least I have a backup plan. I've been reading a lot about the charger port issues and the screen peeling/separation issues. Does anyone know if these manufacturing defects (assuming that's what they are) have been fixed or do new EVO's still run the risk of having these problems? I've had Verizon and AT&T before and it's always been relatively easy to get a new replacement device if the original had issues. It sounds like it's not as easy on Sprint so I'm a bit concerned...View 5 Replies View Related
the last 2 days I've tried to charge my phone, it connects for about 2 seconds, then disconnects. i have to move the cable around, almost bending it downward, for it to register a charge. its starting to get really annoying because i have to make sure its charging for a little bit and sometimes have to prop it up so the cable is bent for it to charge before i can walk away. I just want to check on this forum before i take it to the sprint store or best buy where i got it.View 3 Replies View Related
sprint can't say "Its the users fault" because you know dam well its not. If you have a loose or broken port please post here and try to include your hardware version 2 or 3 and your build dates. Frankly im sick and tired of HTC and Sprint passing the buck about there faulty equipment.View 49 Replies View Related

I have a feeling my my X10 USB port is somewhat broke. It won't charge whatsoever via the mains or via PC USB cable. I have had to purchase a plug travel charger with the 2 prongs in order to get it working. Would the software have played any part in disabling the USB port on the phone - which a software upgrade or flash would solve or would I be looking at a complete USB port replacement on the Xperia?View 1 Replies View Related
so is it just me or does placing the port at the top of the phone suck? I mean it already spends alot of its life plugged in, and if I am in the car and want to use it it is a royal PITA...View 3 Replies View Related
I am wondering what the charging port type is on the droid? I just noticed that my droid car mount will slide onto my motorcycle TomTom mount. The problem is I wired my bike with the standard USB charger. The droid uses some different type of usb connector. What do they call it? Do they make an adaptor to go from the Droid connector to the standard USB connector?View 10 Replies View Related
My phone stopped charging consistently so I installed a new OEM charging port. The phone charges great now however it took a long time to charge. Now I get a message that says that there is no mobile network available. I have double checked that the antenna is attached and all else was a pretty straight forward swap.View 2 Replies View Related
Problem is that both charging port and battery and malfunctioning. My charger port has a mind of its own. Only certain chargers positioned in certain ways will charge it. I'm talking about brand new charge cords (no shorts in cord itself) that when plugged in will over work if I play with the port for awhile. Along with the problems actually getting the charging port to work, there is also problems with the battery. The battery has a terrible life using all of the battery conserving settings it drains like crazy. And along with that when I charge my phone with it off it will tell me fully charged many times but when I turn the device on I'm in the RED.View 5 Replies View Related

I've had my Incredible for about a month now and lately Ive noticed when i click the track pad to take a picture, the back plate (battery cover) creaks and is very flimsy. I tried applying pressure to see if it just simply needed snapped into place, but i don't want to break anything important. I placed a piece of cardstock between the battery and the back plate as a "shim", but that didn't work either.
Its not a major problem but it gets annoying after awhile. Any Ideas?
Like many other people, my camera lens cover pushed in slightly letting dust onto the lens. I didn't want to go to verizon, lose my phone for a month, and lose my data just for a tiny part so I'm taking matters into my own hands. This procedure is currently in progress and may or may not be successful. Cross your fingers for me!
1)Take off the back cover of your phone.
2)Using your fingernail, gently pry up the camera lens cover. It is only attached by a weak adhesive. When you're done, the phone looks like this with the camera lense exposed:
3)Now pop the glass lens cover and the foam piece behind it away from the red ring and scrape away the old glue that held these parts together. Sorry I don't have a picture of this.
4)Put a dab of gorilla glue on your finger and smear it on the red ring. Place the glass lens cover on the glue without smearing glue on the lens. Use the back of a regular Bic-type pen to apply pressure to hold the components together.Well, that I far as I am. At 11:00, I think the glue will be dry enough to continue and I will update my progress. At this point my biggest worry is glue smudges on the glass.
usb plug when in port isn't tight, it "wobbles/wiggles". not sure when it started doing this or if it's always done it but I just never noticed.View 7 Replies View Related
This morning I wanted to turn on my DINC, but it did nothing. I removed the battery, then restarted the DINC. Everything seemed to work fine. However, upon connecting it to my PC, I noticed that my USB port didn't work any longer (it was not recognized by the pc, nor did my phone get charged. I went to the VZW store, and they told me that my USB port was broken. Will get a new device on Monday. In the mean time I am out of juice.View 1 Replies View Related
What kind of quality can the Incredible output to a TV through its mini USB port? I'm thinking that it would be pretty cool with nesoid, snesoid, genesisoid (whatever it's called). Like 3 classic consoles in one. Does anyone know what kind of quality the Incredible can output? Also, does anyone where I can actually get a cable?View 29 Replies View Related
I was just looking into getting a new receiver for my car since my current one doesn't put out rear-left audio. Looking at all these new decks that have usb inputs to play music from ipods and usb sticks got me thinking about the Inc. I read a bit about some other people having mixed results here - different phones, receiver brands, onboard/sd cards, etc. Has anyone tried this or have a usb input in their car and could try it? I'd love to have the option but I won't worry about a usb port if it won't recognize it.View 5 Replies View Related

Here is a little trick I discovered recently. If you have a later model BMW with the USB port that you would either plug in the iPod connector or a USB stick, if you plug your Incredible in you will be able to charge that phone through the port, negating the need for a separate cigarette lighter charger. This may work on other cars with a USB port, but your mileage may vary.Additionally, you could set up your music folder and playlists directory on the Incredible's internal storage to use it for music playback. Unfortunately on my 2008 X5 with the "single button" iDrive, it only reads the internal storage memory, and not the SD card.View 13 Replies View Related

I am dumping Alltel (I live in MT where Verizon and Alltel are separate) the day the Incredible is available out here. My question deals with the process I need to go through to keep my current phone number (I've had it for 7 years and use it for business). What exactly do I need to do? Do I need to cancel my Alltel contract first? Note: this will mean paying the ETF fee associated with my Alltel contract since I am over a year away from my 2 year contract running out. If anyone can shed a light on what I need to do to keep my phone number when changing providers like this.View 13 Replies View Related

I have had the phone for about a week. I have charged it about 4 times now. This is what I get before I have to charge:
Phone on for 9 hours
About 30 text messages
60 minutes of phone conversations
About 50 minutes total on internee
About 45 minutes setting up my screens and moving apps around
After this the battery goes DEAD!!! Just does not seem right. Should I expect an improvement after a few more charges? Any suggestions?
Wow what a difference. I have the 2150 battery Turned on, fully charged. 9 hours idle. 7 of 10 bars power. turned off, fully charged. Turn on. 9 hours idle. 10 of 10 bars power.View 12 Replies View Related

given all the tweaking I'm doing for battery sakes, I think it's a bit silly that probably the single biggest gain wrt battery life could be gained through the elimination of bump charging. if I could wake up in the morning and have my phone actually charged to 100% instead of 90%ish, that would be great.any rom's or apps have a way to fix this?View 8 Replies View Related
So I made the mistake of trying to drive 80 mints using my DInc as a GPS unit. Drained about 25% of my battery. On the way back I didn't use GPS, but had BT turned on. In 80 mints it charged my battery 5%. With 2.1 and this same charger I didn't have this problem. My problem there was that the battery got really hot and stopped charging. I fixed this by simply mounting the thing in front of an A/C vent. Problem solved. Now Froyo has "fixed" this overheating issue by making the phone not charge so fast so it's now basically useless as a GPS unit IMO. Is there a ROM out there that fixes this charging issue?View 8 Replies View Related

When I charge my Incredible with the AC charger, it is fine. But right when I unplug the USB (at 100%), the battery would drop to 92% in 2 minutes with me not doing anything at all. Then I plug it in my CAR charger and when it reaches 100% everything is perfectly fine. The phone still last all day with a lot of usage. But just wondering if anyone knows why the battery drops to 92% so fast?View 19 Replies View Related
