Is there a way, after obtaining root, that I can make the App Storage bigger? I don't feel like I have that many apps installed, and I don't feel like HTC gives enough space for apps on the phone, when there is 8 gigs on board space. This, and the ability to connect to Ad-Hoc wifi connections would be the only reason why I would root.
I am creating an Android application. My Application has audio and png files which i have saved in res/drawable folder. When i run the app , its giving error Installation error: INSTALL_FAILED_INSUFFICIENT_STORAGE and in the logcat it says - ERROR/PackageManager(54): Couldn't copy package file to temp file. I tried creating new avd also. But i am getting the same error. I want all those png and audio files. I dont want to store them in sdcard.
I have a Galaxy S3, and I noticed that my thumbnails cache was absolutely massive. It grew to 9.6 GB in size. Using Root Explorer, I deleted the .thumbdata3 file and replaced it with a blank file. I noticed that my free space remained 550 MB. I rebooted the device, and it was still reporting only 550 MB free, but there is no sign of the 9.6 GB file anymore. The new .thumbdata3 file reports that it is 0 kb. Next, I tried deleting the .thumbnails folder entirely, thinking maybe the old file was still there someplace. I created a new .thumbnails folder, and created a new .thumbdata3 folder inside of it. After deleting the 9.6 GB thumb file, and the approximately 750 MB worth of photos that were in .thumbnails, my device still shows that only 550 MB is free.
How can this be? I searched the entire device using Root Explorer for any files or folders containing ".thumb," and the 9.6 GB file is definitely gone.
On Sunday I started getting the message "Low on space Phone Storage space is getting low." on the status bar. When I tap it, I'm taken to the "Manage Applications" screen, so it's clear that the message refers to the "Phone Memory," where apps are stored But when I go to Settings > SD card & phone storage here's what I see: SD Card Total Space: 14.83GB SD Card Available Space: 6.15GB Internal Phone Storage Total Space: 6.60GB Internal Phone Storage Available Space: 6.51GB Phone Memory Total Space: 748MB Phone Memory Available Space: 332MB I've googled looking for solutions and it's obvious that this is a fairly common problem - especially on HTC phones. But the only possible solutions I've found are: Too many apps are installed & space really is running low A "bad" app was recently installed causing this error Clear the cache for HTC Mail and HTC Message apps Perform a Factory Reset We can rule this out since there is more than 44% of the Phone Memory available. I didn't install any apps immediately before getting the message, but to be sure I uninstalled the 10 most recently added apps. No luck. I've gone to Settings > Applications > Manage Applications, but the cache for these apps is already zero. The "Data" for Mail is 2.22MB and for Messages is 812KB. This isn't fixing the problem, it's just a way to eliminate whatever condition has caused the symptom. But without an explanation of the actual problem I see no reason to think the problem won't come back in another two months.
My phone keeps telling me this in my notification bar and its bugging the crap out of me. My intenal phone storage has over 6gb free and my SD card has 1.3 gb free. The notification will not go away, I have tried rebooting my phone. I can't not stand it, its just one of my things, but it makes me want to not use my phone. OCD i guess.Anyway, PLEASE tell me why it is doing this
I downloaded "Android System Info" and it shows my RAM is at 8%. How do I increase that short of turning the phone off and then back on? I would assume this is why my phone slows down as the day goes on...?
So I made the mistake of trying to drive 80 mints using my DInc as a GPS unit. Drained about 25% of my battery. On the way back I didn't use GPS, but had BT turned on. In 80 mints it charged my battery 5%. With 2.1 and this same charger I didn't have this problem. My problem there was that the battery got really hot and stopped charging. I fixed this by simply mounting the thing in front of an A/C vent. Problem solved. Now Froyo has "fixed" this overheating issue by making the phone not charge so fast so it's now basically useless as a GPS unit IMO. Is there a ROM out there that fixes this charging issue?

The EVO looks like a sweet phone, and if they ever bring it to Verizon with some LTE love, I'll probably buy one, but does anyone wish that they increased the resolution of the screen just a little to take advantage of that big 4.3" display? Maybe the next gen will. All in all, it looks like a great device, but I don't think it's going to save Sprint.
My Incredible has appropriate volume for phone calls, but when I plug in my earbuds, to listen to podcasts, etc., the volume is much too low. Does anybody know of any way to increase the volume when using earbuds? I do have the volume key set all the way to high, but for music and podcasts it doesn't make it.
First of all, I love my incredible, but I'm afraid my in-call volume is very low. I've turned the rocker all the way up, and it's still very low. Speaker works great on the other hand. Anyone else having these issues, or maybe mine's just low?
I'm curious to know if there is a way to increase the LED notifications for emails and texts to anything more then 5 minutes. It seems kinda pointless to notify for only 5 minutes especially if you are away from your phone or did not hear any notifiers. After 5 minutes you will still need to unlock the phone to check for something. I have just moved from the Motorola Droid to the Incredible and noticed that the Droid's LED notification blinked until the message was open regardless of that duration. Any ideas?
Is there an app for increasing the ringer/alert volume on the HTC Incredible? The original Motorola Droid had plenty of volume, but the phone sucked. Now we have the Incredible that works great, but only if you hear the ringer.Has there been any discussion about an update, because I haven't seen anything? I did see discussion though about the Motorola Droid X.
I rooted my phone about 2 days ago and I did a nandroid backup, titanium backup, used titanium backup to freeze some of the bloatware.. Have not yet installed any ROMs or Kernels. I got SetCPU and made several profiles in an attempt to increase my battery life. I wanted to see if it was working so I set up a widget, and despite the fact that my battery was at 20% (I have a <25% battery profile setting) the max was still 998
Does anybody know if I will be able to increase the email font size on the Incredible? I have BB Storm 2 and can't wait to get rid of it. I tried and returned the Droid because I don't want to put my reading glasses on every time I get an email or text. I have talked to several Android 2.1 users who tell me that this can be done, but not a single one has been able to show me that it can be done.
Well, im low on disk space again! The icon keeps coming up every day or every other day! Each time it comes up, I clear data on certain apps, and I uninstall some apps from my phone! I've removed Twitter, Reuters News and Jewels in the last week.. Icon leaves but comes back few days later! And I have a lot of space on my phone by the way!
Hi guys. I have checked all the low on space threads and i feel like mines is definitely an odd ball When i click on the notification it sends me to my Manage Apps menu. The Manage Apps menu kind of freezes and all the apps show but the disk space says "computing..." and doesn't change
This is the current amount of space I have in my phone.
SD card - Total space = 7.42GB / Avail. space = 7.05gb Internal phone storage - Total space = 6.6gb / Avail. space = 6.53gb Phone memory - Total space = 748MB / Avail space = 696MB
I have tried clearing the internet cache and etc..still to no avail. the phone seems to be functioning fine except for the notification that bugs me.
All day it keeps saying I'm low on space in my notification bar and I'm not. Phone memory is 4gb and sd card is 32gb. The memory it uses for app usage is not low either. The problem is that I can't use Google talk. It just auto closes.
I Have been having problems with my phone's internal memory, ill go to the market and try to download an app and it states that there is not enough space to install it. I have deleted all of my apps and even done 2 hard reset's and nothing seems to help? No I cant even download any app what so ever?
