Just a quick question. Is there a way to get Android stock 2.1 dialer for Incredible WITHOUT rooting?

Can I delete the stock dialer app if I install and download Dialer One?View 5 Replies View Related
Does anyone know how to disable the stock dialer? Before 2.1 you could download a dialer and make it the default. Now, with 2.1, that is not possible. So the large "phone" button on the home page is is still the stock dialer even though I have downloaded Dailer One.View 6 Replies View Related
In the thread that has a guide to rooting with unrevoked 3 it states that you should have a 2gig available on the sd card, but also states if you have less than 4 gigs available you must format. Is it ok then to format the card if its only 2gigs to being with and root it that way? Sorry sounds confusing, I'm just wondering if 2gigs is enough.View 6 Replies View Related
Is there any way to get the stock Android Messaging app on the Eris? I hate the HTC messaging app; it's so slow and leggy. I also hate Handcent and Chomp. Is there any way I could get the stock Android SMS app? Or does this require rooting or what?View 1 Replies View Related
how much work would go into getting the stock pics phone and dialer to work on my HTC hero s with the leaked sense 3.6 update. I'm currently running my own concoction in which everything is stock ics except for the dialer.View 1 Replies View Related
I've come from using a G1 and the Sense Dialer is horrible. Is there any way that I can get the stock Android dialer back?
Or failing that are there any decent dialers in the market which are similar to the standard one?
I have an HTC Rezound. But this issue goes deeper than just the Rezound or even Sense phones.
I installed a dialer app that I *LOVE*...it is faster and more usable than sense, and even themeable. It works perfectly. The problem is that for incoming called, Sense keeps rearing it's fugly head and forcing me to use it.
I have tried disabling various processes and that damn app still comes up on incoming calls. How to make the fugly Sense dialer go away for good without having to root? I do have ICS installed.
My freind rooted his US Cellular LG Genesis with Gingerbreak. He got exdialer so he thought he can delete the stock dialer, but since he did that the phone has no.service... He has no backup for that stock dialer or a nandroid, and the phone is on stock 2.2.2, so looking for lg stock dialer apk from 2.2.2.View 6 Replies View Related
I have a Galaxy S3 i747 that I recently rooted. I use TWRP, ROM Toolbox Pro, and have a backup of everything. While in App Manager, I accidentally sent my stock dialer to user apps. I see the icon in my app drawer so I know its not uninstalled. But I cannot get to it in ROM Toolbox under user apps to switch it back. Since then I cannot connect to the network as expected. I flashed CM 10.2 to see if that would solve my issue...it has not. I can receive incoming calls and SMS but cannot call out. I was also unable to flash Gapps.View 1 Replies View Related
I was erasing some stuff with titanium backup and I delete intentionally the people app, because I didn't want my phone list on the google account; however deleting people app has broken somehow the dialer too and now I can't use it anymore.
I tryed to delete totally the stock dialer and installing a new one downloaded from google play store but it still doesn't work (I couldn't see while calling).
I tryed to download and use the .apk files from kitkat but none of them works.
My phone is a Moto G and it's rooted.
New to these parts...
Is Pinch-to-Zoom stock on the Google maps app? or is my only option rooting the phone?
I want to keep sense, but want to use the stock Android picture gallery, music and dialer app. I don't want to download ANOTHER program, I just want to use the stock android version of it. Switching the home screen back to the default launcher (from sense) does not change the gallery, picture or dialer app.View 8 Replies View Related
Can anyone recommend an alternative to the stock dialer that isn't so leggy/buggy?View 1 Replies View Related

I can see to find "Rooted HTC evo rom" the stock one to complete the rooting process. I am using the htcevohack.com site and the link they have is old or is currently not working. Can some please give me a link or send me the stock rom zip fileView 8 Replies View Related
Obviously a noob, I have looked through the threads, and it appears you can restore a rooted phone to an un-rooted phone?
My question is, if I root my EVO and then have some sort of hardware issue that would possibly require a replacement or repair of the device by Sprint, can I restore it to it's pre-rooted condition such that Sprint or HTC cannot detect that it was rooted? Or, if I root it, should I just drop the repair insurance for it, because I am basically jumping off the insurance cliff when I root it?
Before I get started rooting what would you say the main benefits are over stock 2.1? Just want to make sure it is worth it as my phone is working fine atm. A little extra speed is always nice but anything else?View 10 Replies View Related

[TUTORIAL] IDIOT-PROOF Root Guide! NAND Unlock and ADB Update - xda-developers 2. Can I even use that method since my phone is currently updated to the latest everything. Everything is completely up to date. 3. If I can not use that method what method could I use thats Idiot friendly. 4. If I root only going so I can use the above features Is it easy to get back to stock in case I have to take it to sprint or HTC.View 28 Replies View Related

I know you can remove those bogus stock apps by rooting the hero but I have a slightly different question that I couldn't find in other threads. I am interested in rooting my hero just to remove the bloatware and then unroot the phone back to its original ROM. I am not a huge fan of tinkering with my electronics because it voids warranties, possibly bricks devices, and causes trouble with firmware updates, but it really ticks me off that sprint forces these apps on us and then makes them impossible to uninstall. Imagine getting a new PC and not being able to remove crap like wild tangent and the 20 free trials for programs you don't want or need. I know this isn't news to anyone here, but every time I see that Nascar app I get irritated. Seriously sprint? Nascar? Anyway, my questions are 1.) is root/unroot possible to remove bloat and return to original state 2.) has anyone had success uninstalling pieces of the bloat without rooting? I don't want to uninstall anything integral to the phone like the stock messages app, but Nascar has gots to go!View 6 Replies View Related
Is it possible to get more than the stock 3 screens on the Galaxy without rooting? Just recently got the phone and not sure if going down the rooting path yet (at least until I'm comfortable I won't brick it) I'm still on Android 1.5 as I cannot upgrade to 1.6 through Samsung PC studio.View 8 Replies View Related
I rooted a few months back and was running CM6.1 and I recently went back to stock to see how it was. But now if I try to root using UniversalAndroot, it fails everytime. I tried versions 1.6.1 and 1.6.2

Download these three files and put them in the root of your sdcard. (You must have ADB on your computer)
File 1 : Download (rename to "update.zip")
File 2 : Download
File 3 : Download(Handler 1.5)
Step 1 : Boot into stock recovery (Camera+Power then select down) (press Alt + L to see options)and flash file one.
Step 2 : Load up ADB when the computer recognizes it type.
Is anyone else experiencing lag when using the phone dialer or when answering a phone call? When I go through my contacts and pick someone I want to call, I touch their name, and it takes a good 5-7 secs before it starts calling that person.Same thing when I receive a call. When my phone rings and I have an incoming call, when I swipe down, it'll take another 5-7 seconds after the swipe (since I guess this action lets you answer the call directly) before I am connected to that person.View 15 Replies View Related
I just downloaded skyraider 2.5.x vanilla, and love it, except for the htc dialer. Is there any 2.2 rom, other than cm6, that has the vanilla (non-htc) dialer?View 2 Replies View Related
I rooted my phone for the first time yesterday. I have not yet flashed any ROM's, all I have done so far is remove some of the stock apps. I have lost my data connection a couple times today, usually a reboot will solve it, however it hasn't on one or two occasions. It seems to have started happening after changing my boot animation to something closer to the 1.5 boot animation. Is it possible that this new boot animation is causing my data connection problems.View 2 Replies View Related

I noticed that with the 2.2 upgrade, a press on my bluetooth headset's button automatically starts the voice dialer. Is there any way to control this feature or change settings for my bt headset device? I found a workaround with app Call Confirm for now.View 8 Replies View Related
My girlfriend recently bought the Incredible. She says the voice dialer app isn't very accurate, is there a way to train it? I had her go into the voice recognizer settings but the option to train it is not there as it was on the D2.She also says it doesn't prompt her for confirmation and she can't find the setting to have it confirm before dialing. Is there an option she's missing?View 12 Replies View Related
I synced my facebook account in order to have pictures for my contacts. Problem is, there are only about 50 people whose numbers I want in my phone. Not the all of my 400 some odd facebook friends. In the People app, I simply unchecked Facebook from the Menu>View screen to unclutter my contact list.View 10 Replies View Related
Here is the problem solver for all of you handsfree people. Voice Dialer HF v1.2.1-1 Application for Android | Tools
I haven't tried it but please report back how well it works.
I have gotten all haptic touch set to off so it no longer vibrates when texting, emailing or touch the 4 lit up buttons on the bottom BUT it still vibrates when I dial a phone number or when I call a contact from my phone book, I hit the number and it vibrates once as it ringsView 1 Replies View Related
Seems to me you can't remove the haptic feedback on the phone dialer.I would hate to see that this is true, this is the best phone dialer I've had on an android device.View 22 Replies View Related
I'm having an issue with the Voice Dialer on my Incredible. I'm wondering if other people are having this too...
Assume I have a contact entry "John Doe" with both a Mobile and a Home number.
When I speak "John Doe", if the dialer can't correctly pinpoint the contact name (eg: "John Doe" vs "Jane Doe"), then it correctly shows me all of the numbers for both people. However, if it correctly matches to the exact name ("John Doe"), then it shows me only the primary number for "John Doe".
It doesn't matter whether I say "Call John Doe", "Call John Doe at Home", or "Call John Doe on Mobile". In all cases I just get a single number offered.
Is it possible to theme the htc dialer to look more vanilla? i'd like to try a vanilla rom, but the htc dialer just annoys me with the way it runs up against the white notification bar (with the rounded edges that go into black corners).View 5 Replies View Related
The native voice dialer sucks. Is there a way to calibrate it?
Voice search works pretty well so I'm not sure why the voice dialer sucks for me. I've been using voice dial on feature phones for like 5 years and they all worked much better than this.
Is there anyway I can change the default dialer that is included in the ROMS? I like the vanilla dialer over the HTC one.View 7 Replies View Related
Can anyone please help me port the Hibernate feature that is in the new SkyRaider 3.3 ROM, and for the Desire. I am very interested in getting this feature on either RMK's new stock leak ROM or the 2.2 OTA stock ROM. Yes I know about the 3-1 reboot option along with hot boot. but im really interested in porting this over to a stock ROM for us. Mods, please leave this thread here in hopes it actually garners some attention, the support section does not receive anywhere near the traffic this one does!
This literally happens to me EVERY time I try to use it, it didnt always do this so I'm not exactly sure when it started. I've done the normal reboot etc, does anyone have a fix/reset for this thing?
I have found the voice dialer to be very inaccurate compared to old LG Dare. Are there any fixes?View 3 Replies View Related
We want to disable the default dialer application and install our own dialer application on phone. We want to know how we can disable the default dialer so that it doesn't listen for missed calls, incoming calls and also it doesn't gets launched by other application for making calls instead our application gets launched. Only our dialer application should be listening on it. We want to use same format as existing content URIs supported by default dialer in our own dialer application. Is this possible? If yes then how we can achieve it? We don't want to delete the call log application code or we don't want to remove it from build. We want to have default dialer in device. Our dialer application will be installed later may be by downloading from Internet by end user.View 11 Replies View Related
