HTC Incredible :: Does Anyone Have Swype APK File That Doesn't Expire / Not Exist?
Aug 31, 2010
I've seen posts for Swype on here a millilon times, problem is when I download them it tells me that the trial is over and wont let me "swype" only type. Does anyone have a Swype APK file that doesn't expire or do these not exist?
I saw on http://developer.android.com/guide/topics/security/security.html that my app can declare a permission:
However, what if com.me.app.myapp is not yet installed on the device?
[a] I tested with "adb install", and Foo was installed on the device without incident. The only thing I see is "W/PackageManager( 62): Unknown permission com.me.app.myapp.permission.DEADLY_ACTIVITY in package com.foo.Foo"
[b] if I upload Foo into Android Market, but the user has not yet installed "myapp", will he be able to see Foo in market?
[c] if the answer to [b] is yes (I really hope so, or else it will be a major bummer ...) what message will the user see regarding com.me.app.myapp.permission.DEADLY_ACTIVITY? Since the description of this permission is declared only in "myapp", without "myapp" installed, will the user just see the name of the permission, which probably doesn't mean much?
If [c] is true, would this be a weakness to the Android permission system/Android Market? As long as I can fool the user to install my app first, I would be able to gain permissions that the user would not have otherwise granted me (had he known the true nature of such permissions).
I turn on my Droid Incredible, and I am looking at the drag-down bar to open the phone up. Directly below the drag down bar it says: "New Message," followed by a phone number. So I go to my Message Center to see what it is. "You have no new messages."
OK - but that annoying "New Message" thing is still there under my drag down bar every time I open my phone up. It's as if it is mocking me, saying: "Just TRY and figure out how to delete me.
I have tried tapping the Menu and then Notifications. That doesn't do it.How do I get rid of "New Messages" my Message Center tells me don't exist?
When at the home screen and then moving two screens to the right I get to what looks to be some type of image player in the middle and it has the Media Share, Blockbuster, Camcorder, and Gallery at the bottom.
While playing around with the camera I just took some random photos of junk and have since deleted them. But now in the middle of the screen I still see what seems to be the last image I took. Yet the file isn't actually on the phone or card. The round button in the middle (with the square around the 'play' icon) is selected but red (when I touch it it turns green and used to scroll through the photos before I deleted them).
How do I get this ugly blurry test image out of this screen and back to the way it was before?
Swype worked fine for me before I received the 2.2 update on my Droid Inc last week, but now it doesn't. I've tried the following, as recommended in many other posts: 1) uninstall and reinstall swype 2) switch text input method to default keyboard and then back to swype 3) hard re-set phone, and none works in restoring swype. Oddly, in the "settings/language and keyboard" menu, swype is checked as enabled, but in actuality it isn't.
Actually I am developing one application in that when application run first time it will create one txt file and save IMSI number in that file. when mobile boot it will matches it's current IMSI number with IMSI number present in the txt file. But I don't know how to check that file is exist or not.
I have an app fetch data from internet, for better performance and bandwidth, I need to implement a cache layer.
There are two different data coming from the internet, one is changing every one hour and another one does not change basically. So for the first type of data, I need to implement an expire policy to make it self deleted after it was created for 1 hour, and when user request that data, I will check the storage first and then goto internet if nothing found.
I thought about using a SharedPrefrence or SQLDatabase to store the json data or serialized object string.
My question is:
1) What should I use, SharedPrefrence or SQLDatabase or anything else, a piece of data is not big but there are maybe many instances of that data.
So I used to use Swype on xtrROM 3.0.3 and it worked fine. After switching to 18.104.22.168, the swiping action doesn't produce any text but tapping the letters does. I've been all over the Swype forum and see a lot of complaints that Swype has the same problem on Froyo. Any ideas? At least I still was able to find SahpeWriter but it isn't as smooth as Swype was.
So I just got the Swype beta, and I have a small problem. If I ever decide to cancel typing (say I have text input open and the Swype keyboard is covering the bottom half of my screen) the keyboard stays open and I have to tap home again for it to disappear. Are there any workarounds for this or is it simply because its beta? I noticed that even if I revert back to the default Sense keyboard it does the same thing.
I signed up for the beta testing a while back. Got this link in an email update from Swype. You have to uninstall swype and the old installer first. Access it from your Android phone. https://beta.swype.com/android/get/
I am creating an application that checks the installation of a package and then launches the market-place with its id.
When I try to launch market place with id of an application say com.mybrowser.android by throwing an intent android.intent.action.VIEW with url: market://details?id=com.mybrowser.android, the market place application does launches but crashes after launch.
Note: the application com.mybrowser.android doesn't exists in the market-place.
MyApplication is my application.
However, when I try to launch the market place for a package that exists in the market place say com.opera.mini.android, everything works. Log for this case:
can any one provide me solution to this error "The Jar of this class file belongs to container Android 2.0.1 which does not allow modifications". I have searched a lot to this problem but failed. I am using eclipse with ADT.
I'm having problems with my phone's bluetooth. Pairing is successful, but sending any sized file fails instantly. I'm not sure if it has anything to do with it, but the first time i tried it, it was successful - at least partially. I was half way through sending a 250MB file to the phone when it got interrupted (can't remember how, i might have accidentally disabled bt part way through). Since then, all attempts fail sending to, and from phone.
Sorry if this is already somewhere on the forum. I searched and just got a bunch of complaint threads about swype. My girlfriend likes the incredible, but is leaning towards the droid x instead because she knows it has swype preinstalled. If i had it on my inc, she'd be all over it. How can i get it on my incredible?
