There is a guy selling on on my local Craigslist and it is flashed to Cricket. Can this be undone easily and restored to original factory Verizon standard?

I got a new Hero about a month ago. Last weekend, it basically restored itself to factory settings. All my contacts are gone, all the apps I downloaded had gone, text messages, calendar, the lot. It was as if I had pushed a button and reset the phone. Now, little by little, stuff has come back. I logged back into my google account and I would assume the calendar syncs with the google calendar as all my appointments are back. The Google account also remembered which apps I had and I redownloaded them. However, the contacts and the text messages have never come back. Is this a known issue? Is my phone possibly faulty and needs to be returned? I'm so confused. I do love this phone but I am not putting up with a phone which I cannot rely upon.
View 4 Replies View RelatedMy phone died in the middle of taking video. Came home a couple hours later, plugged my phone into the charger. I turned the phone on, after it was plugged in. My phone froze during the little HTC and Hero intro. After the freeze, it was back on, but my screens were all back to factory settings! It also asked me to calibrate my keyboard, and the little popup bubbles to guide the user with their "new phone" came up! All my apps were gone!! I lost ALL of my contacts! The only thing that stayed was my pictures and videos. It doesn't make any sense to me.

It includes the Asus Vcom Drivers, Flash Tools and the Stock Firmware (Rom, Locked Bootloader, etc)
Tablet MUST BE TURNED OFF, and with full battery The VCOMM Drivers MUST be installed
Then it has you connect the tablet to a PC. Do I download the .zip file to the PC? Do I install the VCOMM drivers to the Memo Pad HD 7??

I will acknowledge that this is very insignificant, but for some reason it is driving me crazy. When I first got this phoe, I deleted the original espn, cnn and facebook shortcuts that came preloaded on the right screen. I have since come to realize that I check espn A LOT and I wanted the shortcut back there. So I added a bookmark, but the original icon that came preloaded just looked a lot better, does anyone know if there is a way to get the original icon back without doing a factory reset?

So, let's say I am doing factory reset the first time (so currently my phone has store ROM installed) so factory reset will revert all the changes in the installed ROM (such as settings, installed apps, all the data) to its original state - which the phone had since it got ROM installed.
But If I got root (which means I replaced secured kernel with unsecured one) and I installed another customized ROM and for some reason I want to do factory reset again - what's gonna happen?
Will factory reset revert original store ROM back or it will revert manually installed ROM (customized ROM) to its after installation?
And as far as I understood factory reset does nothing with kernel? It only affects ROM? So in the second case , when I use non-store ROM and I am doing factory reset - nothing will happen with my unsecured kernel?
I want to do a factory reset on my Verizon s3 to try and fix the issues from the latest software update.
I moved all pictures to the external sd card. Will performing a factory reset wipe out the contents of the external sd card? I don't care if the internal sd card gets cleared out.
I am using Europian unlocked htc hero and it got Android 2.1 update 3 weeks back OTA, is it possible to update it to Android 2.2 through rooting and with any custom ROM available? I have never done rooting and new to it, would it be possible to to get it back to original factory settings after rooting?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have been flashing custom ROMs recently and I like to clean flash a new version each time.
I have a Verizon Galaxy S3.
I use CWM Recovery, when I want to erase everything before flashing a new ROM, I "wipe data/factory reset" 3 times, then wipe cache, then wipd Davlik. I then flash the new ROM.
I havent been having any problems with any of the new ROMs.
But after I flash a new ROM and got into my phone's internal SD card storage, all my old files are still there. Any photos I stored, files Ive downloaded via web browser, voice recording files, they're all still there. I understand that factory reset usually doesn't affect the external SD card, but my internal SD card isn't wiped either.
Is this normal? Is it ok to leave these old files there when flashing a new ROM or should I be trying to absolutely get rid of everything prior to fllashing a new ROM?
My galaxy s4 has recently been very slow so I thought that I would try a factory data reset to clear some things up. However, my phone is rooted. Now when I looked around on some other forums it seemed as though that I didn't have to worry about factory resetting the phone while it was rooted. But when I went ahead and did so it no longer will boot. Its stuck in the boot loop/download mode/ whatever you may call it. I can't seem to flash a recovery file through Odin either. My phone is gone now.

I didn't feel like arguing since I already have one so I let him do it. Once I got home, I setup my account and sync'd all of my email and contacts, but I cannot delete the original account he setup off the phone. I also cannot sync my calendar through my account. The phone is only wanting to sync the calendar with the account he set up. Can someone offer advice on how to delete the account he setup? BTW, I have gone in and tried to delete the account, but the phone tells me applications need this account and in order to delete it, I will have to reset the phone to all defaults and all information will be lost.

What happened to the Incredible marketing I think I've seen like one boring commercial which does not even show the phone and one or two radio ads, that's it? when you have the best phone out in the market shouldn't they be marketing it? The Motorola is still be marketed as the best phone in all the radio ads and commercials they have.Its so annoying I'd like to see the incredible being marketed everywhere.

View 14 Replies View RelatedI have 10.000+ text messages (sms) om my old phone that I would like to get into my gmail account using the SMS Backup app. So far I have managed - with superb assistance from Boni2K - to get them exported from the old software i had them in (MyPhoneExplorer) as an xml-file that the SMS Backup and Restore app can read.
Problem now is that the SMS Backup and Restore will restore them to the SD-card (it is indicated with a small SD-icon next to the restored messages), and the SMS Backup app only backs up messages from phone memory to GMail. Can I move the restored messages from the SD card memory to the Phone memory?.............
I am dumping Alltel (I live in MT where Verizon and Alltel are separate) the day the Incredible is available out here. My question deals with the process I need to go through to keep my current phone number (I've had it for 7 years and use it for business). What exactly do I need to do? Do I need to cancel my Alltel contract first? Note: this will mean paying the ETF fee associated with my Alltel contract since I am over a year away from my 2 year contract running out. If anyone can shed a light on what I need to do to keep my phone number when changing providers like this.

I turned it off and then wasn't able to turn it back on, so I took it off the charger (wall outlet) and held down the power button. Phone turned back on but was in setup mode, everything was gone, settings email programs, everything. I decided to restart it one more time, everything came back.

If I try it, the phone reboots and locks into a boot loop. I can pull the battery, but then it boot loops again. I've basically got to boot into recovery mode and reflash a usable ROM or backup to get the phone working again. Is this because I'm rooted or is this because of the ROM I'm using (Skyraider)?

View 2 Replies View RelatedYesterday my Droid Incredible kept telling me there was an update to my phone. I waited until 8 or 9 hours later and then did the update last night. EVERY single app, contact, messgae, email...everything is GONE...the phone is like the day I got it. I had no warning and I'm beyond devastated. I was able to use Backup Assistant for my contacts, LOTS of pictures are gone, ALL my message threads are gone and on Monday, I'm going to have to reset my Exchange email at work. I've reloaded my personal email and some apps I remember, but I cannot tell you how upset I am.
One of the biggest problems is I don't know what I don't have? I had so many apps, and I don't have a record of them.
Is there some way to back up everything on the phone, all settings, etc, to a website so this never happens again? I am NOT rooted and a I have Froyo 2.2
so i made a wonderful discovery this weekend that my phone will take a charge from my CD deck in my car that has a USB jack. my concern is, that it may end up damaging the phone somehow and i was beyond paranoid. does anyone know if it is a safe thing to do? Does the USB standard have a standard power output?
