1: My phone gives me two notifications for missed calls. One that comes from '333' which is the number from '3 mobile' here in australia, and a second notification which it says is from a random facebook friend. Someone i dont even have in my phonebook. It has their picture and name?
I am using handcent and am wanting to cut it down to only one message per missed call, preferably i want to stop the one coming from the facebook contact.
2. I am using launcherpro + and was checking out the new calendar widget. Problem is it shows the birthdays for every single facebook contact i have I want to stop these being shown on my calendar. They dont show with my Pure calendar widget. the pure calendar widget is set to display all events in the calendar called 'My Name'. How can i remove the birthdays from appearing from the launcherpro + widget?
I rooted last weekend. After every missed call I keep getting a text message that says: If I call the second number (408-970-0000) (always the same) - it says "Our records indicate that you are calling from a SMS voice message equipped handset. If you have recently purchased a handset that does not contain this feature press 1, otherwise press 2." How can I make this stop?
Not sure if this is technically the "silent bug" but calls do not even show up on the phone, they just appear as "missed call from...." no noise no other notification. I restarted phone but it did it again right away. Phone does show the 50% bug in battery info.
having problems receiving calls. When I call the phone from another line, nothing happens except its logged as a missed call. The screen doesnt light up and no options for receiving calls. This happened before I installed Google voice. I disabled Google voice and still no joy. Everything else works. I can make calls, browse over WiFi and 3G.
I am having problems syncing my hero calender with google calender! I have seen a post on here where someone has deleted account details from phone - as I believe i have 2 accounts on my phone. Does anyone know how to delete acc data ( i think it clears all apps as well) When i first got my hero i already had a gmail acc but the phone made me set up a new one - I think this is part of the problem, thats why i want to delete all accs and start again
Is there anyway to change the notification of missed calls, so it shows up on the home screen similar to how new messages, SMS or voice mails show up. The little notification Icon at the top of the screen in the status bar is way to small and gets lost among all the other notifications. Not looking for something that blinks or changes the color of my LED.
This has happened to me a few times now. If I miss a call, or get a voicemail, the screen will turn on as usual but then it won't sleep until I either press the power button or unlock the phone. The screen will stay on indefinitely (on the lock pattern screen). This only started happening after I updated to 2.2. So now if I'm away from my phone and get a call, the battery will be almost completely drained by the time I get back to it (sometimes up to 4 hours later). This might also be happening if I get a calender notification too...anyone know what's going on?
In my app I should do some action when a call comes but not answered by the user.I have searched in the android.telephony and the NotificationManager, but I haven't found a method to solve this problem.Does someone have an idea of how to get to know if there is a missed call on the phone or not?
The Hero har several different "calenders" onboard. Mine has:
"My Calender" - This is the phone's calender "XX.XX@gmail.com" - Gmail calender off course "Norwegian Holidays" - Nice to have calender "Week Numbers" - Nice to have calender "Outlook" - For syncing ti Outlook
Now, my problem(s) is(are) as follows:
1. Using HTC Sync only syncs the "Outlook" calender on the phone. (And contacts) 2. Syncing with Gmail, only syncs "XX.XX@gmail.com" (and Gmail contacs) 3. Leaving the "My Calender" which I prefer to use, goes un-backed-up..............
It's driving me mad! I want ONE place for all my calender issues and contact sync.
A) How do I sync "My Calender" to Google or Outlook? B) How do I change all my "My Calender" items to Gmail? C) How do you have "unified synchronization and backup" of your Hero?
Does anyone know how to get an audible notification for a missed call.I have tried the "Missed Call" application but it doesn't seem to give an audible notification. It will vibrate.I have a Nexus One and am really disappointed that this function isn't available on what is supposed to be a great phone.
I have written a little application that gives LED notification for missed calls. (the default behaviour gives you only LED notifications for SMS, email and voicemail).
Features: Customizable sound, vibration, led, repeat notifications for missed calls, incoming calls, sms, bluetooth enabled/disabled, bluetooth device connected, airplane mode, battery level low, etc. Version 0.8.9 includes a Locale plug-in! For all the Droid users make sure that you have got "Missed Call for Android 2.0" installed. You can try it out if you want.
If I missed a call or text while my Dare's screen was blank, all I needed to do was tap on it to wake it up and see who the call or text was from while the phone was still locked. On my Dinc, I have to press the top button to wake it up. Is there a way to change the settings so I can go back to just tapping the screen to wake it up?
Call me crazy, but that's just one of a few things that are making me miss my Dare! Don't get me wrong, I love my Dinc, but when you've been used to certain shortcuts for a few years, it's hard to change.
I'm on O2 UK and if my wife rings me from her O2 mobile or from our home landline my Desire doesn't ring but shows the missed call icon in the notification area. what happens on the phone you ring from i.e my wifes mobile or our landline all you here is 2 short rings then the phone goes dead.I only have wifi switched on and not the mobile network.that is to say I don't have the 'mobile network' option ticked in 'wireless & networks' screen. Has anyone else had this problem?PS the phone rings fine when I ring from say my work mobile or my work landline and also from other mobiles including ones on O2 UK. >PPS tried turning off the option 'Quiet ring on pickup' but that hasn't made any difference either
I have a problem with Viber when on wifi, can not receive calls (when phone is locked) but only get notifications for missed calls when i unlock the phone. On mobile data all works nicely. Messages are doing nicely on both Viber and WhatsApp.
Ive had my hero a while now, but just tried using gmail and calender and sync it with the phone. Well,i get calender changes made on pc to show on my hero, but not vice versa. Whats the best way to sort my problem.?
I use Google calendar every day. If I update on my PC it is on my phone almost instantaneously if I amend that appointment on my Hero it will not sync to the PC over 3G. (I amend, update on the move during my day out and about) The only way to sync is to return to the PC and connect my phone to home wifi and force a sync. (untick calendar in "Application sync settings" the re-tick) My Googlemail and contacts sync fine, 3G and wifi.
I've got my email and calendar syncing with my Exchange server every couple of hours, but if I make a change to an appointment from my PC and want to sync my Hero calendar immediately, how do I force an immediate update? I can refresh my email, but I can't see a calendar refresh option? I worked it out. Just go to home screen, menu, Settings, Data synchronization, Exchange ActiveSync and there's a Sync now button at the bottom of the screen that syncs mail, contacts and calendar when you click it. Perfect. Would be nice if it was a little easier to get to though!
I have a google email account, the email account syncs fine with my hero. However, with my calendar if I add an event on google it will download to my phone. Am I able to create an event on my phone that will update on my googlemail account calendar?
This is weird and I am starting to lose love for Android and my Hero... with Android 2.1 you can now have more than 1 Google account on your phone. I have two gmail accounts there under the phone's gmail app. (Both only update once per blue moon but that is an entirely separate issue ... I think).
I want to be able to sync my Google calendar with the phone's calendar, as I used to be able to do do quite nicely and easily on my crackberry, shouldn't be rocket science. So with the two gmail accounts on my phone, account #1 is one where I do NOT want to sync, either contacts or calendar, ever. Account #2 is the one where I *DO* want to sync contacts, email and calendar.
So I bring up the Gmail app on the phone, hit menu, hit accounts, hit menu again, then hit settings. Both accounts are showing up there. Going to account #2 (the one I *DO* want to sync with everything), the sync button is checked but there is *NO* calendar button to indicate it should also sync with calendar?? But doing the same thing with account #1 (the one I NEVER want to use to sync contacts or calendar), the calendar sync button *IS* there. WTH?
I thought maybe because the account I never want to sync with was added first, so I thought I would DELETE that one, get the calendar sync setup, then re-add that account. Nope - the phone says that if I do that, I will have to reset the phone back to factory settings and lose all personal data. WTF - was this phone and operating system made by Fred Flintstone?
Maybe I'm missing it, but (Droid X) how do I view and save missed calls? Also, if I view notifications then go home the notifications are erased. How can they be automatically saved? Are there applications?
Whenever I have someone call my Google Voice number, it rings for a split second, then goes immediately to a missed call icon on my droid. It will then ring for another split second, and add yet another missed call. Every call coming to my number gets around 5 missed calls. The call from their end seems normal, as all they hear is ringing. On my end, I cant even answer the call because it vanishes right away.
Does anyone know if I need a special app to be reminded of calls/texts that I've missed? I've had this feature on Motorola phones and on Samsung.
Ideally, if I miss a call and/or text, I would like to be reminded every n minutes either by vibrate or by ringtone (whichever's activated) until I acknowledge the missed call/text.
I don't know how people live without this. I've had a Nkia for 18 months and I got tired of having to look at the screen of the phone every time I finished taking a walk(could never feel vibrates while walking) taking a shower (they're not waterproof yet), etc.
