I have installed the Motorola USB driver on two computers now and it will not come up when i plug the phone in. I installed the leaked jelly bean and i want to flash back to ICS. Could that be a factor?
I recently lost the charger and cable that came with the phone, and bought another one, but the actual connector is slightly different. When I plug my phone into my computer, I don't get anything, either on the phone or on the computer, except that the phone does start charging. I get no "start USB service" or whatever option in the phone and the phone does not show up as a drive. Nothing, nada, zilch, zero. I'm guessing it's the cable, but I'd like to confirm before going out and buying another cable.
When I computer either a) the drive doesn't show in my computer or b) the drive shows up for a minute but then crashes with no warning. I just got my Hero so I'm trying to transfer music from the computer to the phone but am unable to do this if I can't access the SD card. any suggestions?
What is the best (easiest) way to install an .apk file on the Epic? I took Gary's offer for a free "paid version" of the xScope browser to all Android Forum users but have never tried to install an apk file before.
BTW...Anyone wanting a copy just email Gary at email@example.com
I posted a a few days ago about my Hero not syncing with my pc. In short, although the phone charges, neither the hero or the pc recognize each other. Nothing happens. I tried various computers and cables to no avail. Yesterday, I took it into a sprint store to a guy I know is knowledgeable with the Hero (he is the manger and uses a hero) and even he was stumped. I just bought this phone used. I still am within the 30 days to purchase insurance for this phone. Is my only option to purchase insurance, pay a $50 deductible and send in the phone to get fixed?
I am hoping someone here will be able to assist me with a problem I've been encountering with my HTC Hero. When I plug it in to the USB port, the computer doesn't recognize the device. I've tested the USB ports with various other devices and it recognizes all of them but the Hero. I did get it to sync briefly and begin the upgrade to 2.1, but then it disconnected again after only being synched for a minute or so. I've restarted everything, and I do have the USB debugging enabled. I've scoured the web and forums looking for a solution and just can't find one. I'm running XP, SP3.
When there is a countdown for a "non-premium" download, specificially megaupload. Does this make sense? Whenever there is a countdown download, my dolphin browser loads the page up and the countdown stops. Does anyone know a workaround to this problem?

When I try up the phone and look under music I do not see the new song files. Can anyone point me in the right direction as to what I might me doing wrong here?
Is there a way to get the hero to recognize new images added to the sd card without rebooting? I have downloaded some images via the app backgrounds, they are In a folder on the sd card but do not show up in albums. I know if I reboot they will appear, but is there not a simpler way of seeing them?

I have the apk files for both I have fresh pre-kitchen 0.2 and I get an error when trying to push files and can't see the files I want to pull with it. Iv made many changes to my phone and would like to see what is currently flashed to my device. And also i was wondering if there's a way to unflash this stuff and if not what will get rid of it? Because i have no backups. They were all messed up and got deleted
