HTC Hero :: Find Out Causing Notification Sounds?
Can anyone tell me how I can find out what is causing notification sounds?
My Hero will, at times, beep randomly, but leave nothing in the notifications bar. If I open a task manager I can see that HTC Checkin Service and Settings are the only things running. This process will repeat, whether I close the apps or not, and run the battery down.
Is there some kind of system log I can look at to find out what is causing this? It seems weird that the phone would make the sound but leave no evidence of a notification.

So the one of the first thing i did when i got my hero was to stop the htc message service n went to chomp sms, awesome app. anyway i wanna change the notification / message sounds to something not in the default list. basically i wanna crop a music file on my phone and have it as a message tone like u can and i have done with my ring tone. i was expecting for there to be an option to chose what i set the tone as. what i mean is, when ive cropped a file you get an option to 'set as ring tone' or set as 'contact tone'. no option for notification sounds. ive also played about in the chomp settings and i can only get a list up for default sounds. am i just being stupid and dont know where to look, or do i serioulsy have to keep the crap htc sounds? ive got a peter griffin soundboard, if i click n hold on a sound it pops up with set a tone and notification, and i can set that as my sound but i dont want that, i wanna crop a music file.

Sprint HTC Hero :: Rintone And Notification Sounds?
I love my hero, but I really am a noob when it comes to all of this. I used to just used Myxer and Phonezoo to get my ringtones. 1. Can someone post a walkthrough to get new ringtones onto the Sprint HTC Hero? 2. Can you get tones through Myxer still with the Hero? 3. Also is there a way to have different notification sounds for txt, emails and voicemails? Update...figured out a much easier way...after I did some searching and figured out how to add the folders I started using phonezoo and just saving the files on my computer and then transfering that way. Also using Ringdroid works to create some from music already on my hero.

HTC Hero :: Cannot Get Text Message Notification Sounds To Work
I absolutely cannot get text message notification sounds to work. At all. It stays on the stock sound. I can change it to any of the preloaded stock sounds and click ok but when I get a text it still plays the stock sound. I also tried using custom and that didnt work either. I have searched and searched and found nothing. And I am using the proper folder structure on the sd card for the customs. Does anyone have any ideas at all? Im getting very frustrated.

Motorola Droid : Custom Notification Causing Boot Loops
I have tried this on 4 Different Roms (Smoked Glass 4, 5, 6 and Nextheme 0.9) And no matter what I do, if I use a custom sound for notifications, the phone upon restart will boot loop indefinitely, and the only way I can make it stop is to VERY quickly slide the mute left so the phone is muted the next time it boots, then it stops, or if I cant get that to work, I have to restore from a nandroid backup. I have the files on my sd card in /media/audio/notifications All lower case (but have tried with a cap) The only things that hasnt changed, is that I have only tried mp3 files. But I also tried, by using the Zedge Ringtones App to the same effect. Whats the deal? Any Ideas? Currently running Nextheme 0.9 ESE81 R3 BaseBand C_01.3E.01P Edit: Also worth note as it may help, its only notifications that causes this issue, custom ringtones and alarms are fine. Even using the same short (8 second) Mp3 as a ringtone causes no issue. And the mp3 plays in the list of notifications when you select it, as it should. The only thing i can think of is possibly that the phones mp3 decoder loads after the boot up sound? Is that even logical?

HTC EVO 4G :: Use Own Notification Sounds?
Im new to Andriod. Came from WM, but i have 1000's of notification sounds that i have added to my notification sound folder on the SD card. Now how do i set one of those (.wav files) as a text message sound? Just figured it out. Menu>Settings>Sounds and Display>Notification Sound>Select Music>Music then whatever files you have downloaded or stored all show up.

HTC Incredible :: No Notification Sounds
I haven't been able to hear notifications lately, the volume is up but nothing. My ringer for my phone works and I made sure the notification, ringer and media volumes are all set to high. The speaker is working because when I hit the volume rocker it makes a beep. I feel silly asking for this but it just stopped ringing and I don't know how to get it back.

HTC Incredible :: Stop Notification Sounds While Doing Something Else
I have searched for this but can't seem to find an answer anywhere on the forums. I have a custom ringtone as my notification sound, and it is about 10 seconds long. However, when I receive a notification while I'm doing something else, or heck even if I receive it while just looking at my phone, I want to be able to hit a button and make the noise stop! I realize I have an email, text, whatever, so now I want the .mp3/sound to stop and not continue to play the duration of the clip!

Android :: Original Notification Sounds Are Gone
This morning, I was trying to clear memory on my phone so the battery would last longer. I went to Settings>Applications>Manage Applications, and I started going through the list and pushing the "Clear Cache" button. I pushed in on "Settings" and then the screen cleared and went back to my home screen, where the background was some random picture I've never seen before. It didn't recognize my memory card for me to change the picture, so I had to take it out and put it back in. Now, all of my notification sounds are this random song, and when I go to change the notification sound (for gmail or text messages), there are only the ones I have created in the options list; all of the original sounds that were on the phone before are completely gone!

I'm dialing in my Droid 2, which is replacing my previous Blackberry Tour. I am importing all my audio files for ringtones, notifications, and alarms. I have done the following: Connected my phone to my computer Mounted my SD card Created a Media folder on the card Created an Audio sub-folder within Media Created Ringtones, Notifications, Alarms, and MP3s folders within Audio My custom ringtones show up when I'm selecting them in Settings, and RingDroid also shows all of my files (currently placed in Ringtones and Notifications). However, if I go to my GMail app and settings, when I go to select a custom notification ringtone, only the ones that shipped with the Droid 2 show up. I also checked Settings, and no custom notification sounds come up.

I just switched to the inc so i of course no longer have the default notification sounds that came with the moto droid. i always used the kubar sound, and i really miss it. is there any way for anyone to record this or copy this somehow and send it to me so i can use it for my notification sound again?

I have only just bought my HTC desire and i am unable to change the notification sounds to anything but the default sounds in the phone. If you go to messages - menu - settings then notification sounds it only lists the ones in the handset. How does one apply a downloaded sound.

Does anyone know of a good music player app that will allow me to download the album artwork and fix song titles/artist on the fly? I'm tired of looking at the music icons. Does anyone know of a way to set notifications as different sounds. Text messages one sound and emails as another. HTC Desire :: Ringtones And Notification Sounds
Does anyone know where I could download the ringtones and notifications that are pre-installed on the HTC Desire? I have somehow managed to delete them off mine. I honestly don't know exactly how or when it was that I managed to do it, but I assume it must have been during the last couple of days when it was connected to my PC - I must have just deleted a folder by mistake. Schoolboy stuff really! If there is no way of getting the original HTC sounds back, does anyone know of a free/non-subscription service where I could source some alternatives? I just want a standard "ring ring" & "beep" rather than some sort of crazy frog shenanigans.

HTC Incredible :: Turn Off Notification Sounds?
is there a way to turn off all of the notification sounds for email, calendar, and texts? There does not seem to be a global setting for things, and there's not individual settings for this, for example, with the calender, you can't turn off the sounds without turning off the on-screen pop-up reminder. Any apps for this I wonder.

I sent some custom ringtones to my new Incredible and I was able to set my ringtone to whichever one I pleased. They show up in the available ringtones. However, I cannot set the notification sound to one of these ringtones as they don't show up in the list of available sounds. Does anyone know how to add rings or sounds to the list of notification sounds?

HTC Incredible :: Notification Vibrations/sounds - Only Once?
At work I have my phone in my pocket, on vibrate, quite a bit and a lot of times I don't feel the initial vibration. So I end up missing the message until I physically take the phone out and look to see if I have any messages. My Dare that I just upgraded from sent out a vibration every couple of minutes until I checked the phone and dismissed the notifications. Would love to find out if this is possible with the DI.

Nexus :: Loosing Ringer / Notification - Sounds
For some reason my ringer and notifications become disabled. Volume all the way up and not sounds from the ringer or email or system items. I can try and pick another sound but it never plays. Also the media is fine, music and videos all play fine. Only way I have found to get it back is to reboot the phone. Not sure if a program is causing it, but it is driving me up the wall and only happens every so often and it is not from a program I am running cause it is very random, and no one program causes it.

When i get a email through google mail i get a notification sound. i have a btinternet and hotmail account set up as well but when i receive a email with either of them i get no sound to notify me ? i have ticked the email notifications and notification sound on for both email accounts , theres no choice for the sound just turn on or off but still no sound when i receive email from either ?

HTC Eris :: No Text Notification Sounds In Nonsensikal V13.7?
I just flashed Nonsensikal v13.7 last night and since I am not getting any text message notification sounds. If I happen to get a notification sound, it is the default notification sound I set for my emails, et cetera. I use Handcent and have from the beginning. I set, reset, and reset my Handcent notification sound to be "pixie dust" but like I said, I'm not getting any notification sounds for my texts. Is anyone else having this issue on Nonsensikal? I didn't have this issue with version 12.5. Any advice, tips, or suggestions would be helpful.

Motorola Droid :: Notification Sounds Not Always Play
When I get a gtalk or text I hear the notification sound and it vibrates just fine. When I open gtalk and answer the text, then I put the phone down for a second and I don't hear any more notifications. This drives me nuts because then I pick it up and I see the person replied a long time ago. On my old blackberry curve. Every time I get a message it would make a sound. With the droid, if you are in gtalk. It wont make a sound so other then checking the phone or looking at the notification light. I don't know a message came in.

Samsung Galaxy S :: App For Random Notification Sounds?
Is there such a thing as an app that plays a custom notification sound (mp3) chosen at random from a group of sounds? For example, if I have several different mp3 sound bytes of different people saying "You've got mail", is there an app that will randomly choose one of those sounds to play whenever I get mail? (I've got a great notification mp3 right now but I could see it getting annoying to hear over and over again, so I'd love it if it was different from time to time)
