HTC Eris :: Error - Message Saying Number Is No Longer In Service

Nov 11, 2010

I had a call/sms blocker installed. Easy filter I believe. I've unblocked the person and now when ever I try to call i get a message saying the number is no longer in service.

Or when I try to text my phone gives me an error of class 255 cause 3. Now this person can send me texts just fine but for some reason my phone will not send anything to them.

I've uninstalled the app. reinstalled and unblocked again. done a naand restore, wipe, and everything I can think of. I just don't get why my phone is doing this.

But my application want get this address directly, and base on it to do some performance.

Is there have any method directly to get "Message Center Service Number" ?

Sprint HTC Hero :: Unable To Use Phone - No Service After Error Message

Nov 6, 2009

I thought this phone was going to be great, especially coming from 4 instincts (btw, the last one was working just fine, finally) I was just getting tired of it and really like the options the Hero offered and when working, it's great. I am getting this error message:
Sorry! The process android.process.acore has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again.

It is not allowing me to use the phone at all, it says no service. Even the sprint website has my phone greyed out as if it don't exist. Now if I do a hard reset, everything comes back on, but I lose everything. This is my second Hero and I am hoping that there is a fix. I went to HTC email support site to try and get a solution and it is down, getting really frustrated with this phone. I downloaded apps from the market and transfered music to the sd card.

Sprint HTC Hero :: Says No Service - Can't Even Pull Up Phone Pad Or Certain Settings - Get An Error Message

Nov 22, 2009

My phone was almost dead today so I just turned it off. When I got home and plugged it in and turned it back on I didn't have any service. It says no service. I have turned it on and off several times and have taken the battery out and put it back several times and nothing works. I have only had the phone for approximately 3 days. Anything I can do to fix it myself? I can't even pull up the phone pad or certain settings because I get an error message. I called technical support but because I can't get to the phone pad they can't help me.

HTC Droid Eris :: System Error Message And Force Close Option

Apr 28, 2010

Anyone else having issues with the phone and a system error message with something about com.htc.provider and it only gives you the option of a "force close" button. Sometimes that is all that happens and once you hit the force close the message goes away, at least for a while. Other times when this happens it deletes all of your text strings. I have 2 lines and 2 droids, both were having the same issue, did the factory resets, went to the store with both and finally gave in and took 2 refurbished phones to try and fix issue, both refurbished phones started doing the same thing immediately. I am in process of arguing with verizon about not wanting another eris to replace these.

Android :: Service (Run Forever) Crashed - No Longer Want

Jul 21, 2010

We have a Service that continuously collects sensor data on the phone. This service should run "forever", e.g. as long as the user wants, and not be killed by the system. For clarification, this service is not intended for an app to be released in the market to the general public, it is written for a scientific study. So the people running the app are fully aware that their battery will sucked empty faster than usual, this is no problem. Anyways, my problem is that the service gets killed after a while of running. Sometimes after an hour, sometimes only after like 7 oder 10 hours. The Log-Entries when the service gets killed look like this. It just says "no longer want", sometimes without even calling onDestroy(), as far as I can tell.
07-20 17:07:11.593 I/ActivityManager(85): No longer want my.project.datalogging (pid 23918): hidden #16
07-20 17:07:11.593 I/WindowManager(85): WIN DEATH: Window{44c61570 my.project.datalogging/my.project.datalogging.DataLoggingApp paused=false}
07-20 17:07:11.603 I/BackgroundService(23925): onDestroy()

Or later (after I manually restarted it):
07-20 19:00:49.677 I/ActivityManager(85): No longer want my.project.datalogging:BackgroundService (pid 24421): hidden #17
07-20 19:00:49.677 I/ActivityManager(85): No longer want my.project.datalogging (pid 24415): hidden #18
07-20 19:00:49.807 85 10707 I WindowManager: WIN DEATH: Window{44f1ea58 my.project.datalogging/my.project.datalogging.DataLoggingApp paused=false}

I often see other services being killed with "no longer want" and then immediately restarted with "Scheduling restart of crashed service". For example here with runkeeper:
07-20 17:30:45.503 I/ActivityManager(85): No longer want com.fitnesskeeper.runkeeper (pid 24090): hidden #16
07-20 17:30:45.603 W/ActivityManager(85): Scheduling restart of crashed service com.fitnesskeeper.runkeeper/.services.RunKeeperService in 5000ms
07-20 17:33:52.989 I/ActivityManager(85): Start proc com.fitnesskeeper.runkeeper for service com.fitnesskeeper.runkeeper/.services.RunKeeperService: pid=24292 uid=10099 gids={3003, 1015}

The logs show no record of low memory. Testing is done on (several) Nexus One with 2.2 (Froyo FRF91). Is there any way I can achieve this behaviour with my app? Automatic restarting after being killed? Or this this something totally different that just looks similar in logcat?

HTC Desire :: How To Copy Number Into Text Message?

Last night I was trying to send a friend anothers friends mobile number via a text message. I assumed that there would be an easy way to copy the number from my contacts and paste it into a text message. However I couldn't work it out and had to go down the traditional route of writing it on a piece of paper then sending the text! Hardly a good advert for the new 'uberphone' that the desire is billed as! So, is there a way to do it?

After a batch of messages, when I try to resend a batch I get a warning message "A large number of SMS are being sent. Press OK to continue or Cancel to stop sending" This requires user intervention and impedes the program from sending SMS. Is there a way around this error message? Maybe a way to turn off the warnings?

Android :: Voicemail Message From Number Didn't Recognize?

Nov 11, 2010

I received a GV voicemail message from a number I didn't recognize. The person leaving the message said someone had called the number. I don't know the person. My phone definitely didn't dial the number. On top of that, my phone didn't ring and the number isn't registered as a missed call. I can't see any reason why I would've gotten this voicemail.

I use Google Voice specifically for voicemail forwarding and have never used my Google Voice phone number. Any idea what the issue could be?

General :: K9 Mail - Limiting Number Of Stored Message

Nov 30, 2012

Using k9 mail (v4.311) on my android device. I have it set to retrieve at most 500 messages.

However, this does not limit the actual # of messages stored on the device itself. My initial assumption was that after 500 messages were retrieved, on subsequent retrievals, new emails would replace the oldest. This does not seem to be the case. As new messages are received, old ones still remain.

Is there a way to set this software to keep at most a certain # of message - that is, to have new messages REPLACE older ones?

If not, what software/app provides this functionality?

HTC Droid Eris :: 2.1 - Receiving Message Saying Message Not Downloaded

May 13, 2010

I was wondering if 2.1 still had the following bugs/problems that myself, and a lot of people seem to encounter with 1.5, or if it's phone specific not OS specific.

1. Problems receiving picture messages. Specifically receiving a message saying "Message not downloaded. Retransmission scheduled for XX:XX", even if you click "Download" button multiple times.

2. When receiving a text message longer than 160 characters, you get a message saying "The preceding messages modified. Media objects removed." and the sender gets a message saying that you do not support enhanced messaging service, even though you DO actually receive the entire message. I know the Incredible doesn't have this problem, but the Eris does.
