Hey for anyone that needs a good memory card for their phone for music or whatever. I found a deal on a kingston class 4 8gb microsdhc for $16.95 with free shipping and no tax for most: Kingston 8GB microSDHC Card - (Class 4) - SDC4/8GB - Buy.com
Brand new to android, and loving it. But with the release of the Audible app and various music files, I'm going to fill my little 2GB card soon.
How would I go about switching to a larger capacity card? I'm not worried about data files, I know I can copy all of that stuff off the card, but what about any apps or app settings that might be stored on the card? If I simply copy the entire contents of the card to a new one, will everything "work" when I start the phone up? I confess I don't really know much about the android guts, but I'm willing to learn!

Can I just swap the SD card from my Droid to my X when I get it today, and restore the apps with Astro File Explorer? Or, is there something specific to the Droid on the card that would cause a problem?
When ever I partition the sdcard it gives the option of installing a swap partition. I know that my ubuntu installation on my laptop installs a swap partition when I installed the operating system. Would there be any benefit for installing a swap partition on the sd card?
I just recently rooted my phone(iball Andi 5c) which runs on android ics 4.0.3..Mainly to use the sd swapper so I can get more space for apps but I have seem to have made a mistake when I used some sd swapper app.As soon as I used it rebooted my phone.I thought it did what it was meant to do but instead both my ext sd card and usb storage disappeared... gone poof just like that. Now I have no storage only phone memory.
I have upgraded to a 16g micro card. Is there anything special I have to do when I swap it out with old card. Maybe 2 examples would be good. 1 with transfering files. 2 without transfering files. Just got the Evo a week ago, so I only have a few pics.
I have accepted that I just can't get a smart phone. I'm on VZW and have a enV touch, its driving me up a wall. (I also made it go swimming with me so that's problem why). So to cut things short, is it possible to take a Micro Sim card from AT&T put it in a adapter and put it in say, a nexus one or captivate? What id do is take the no-contract pre-paid data plan of the iPad 3G, most likely the 200MB/month for $15 and use Google Voice and other various VoIP clients to use as phone and GV for texts. I pretty much have WiFi where ever I go and pretty decent AT&T 3G in my area. Yes I know, it's just not that simple. Id have to change the APN on the device to att's broadband. Tweak a heck out the phone. 1.) Is it possible? Ive seen it done for a data only iPhone 2.) It is legal right?
i was looking at buying a new sd card for my eris. I have an 8 gb right now but i was wondering if i upgraded to a 16 GB would my phone run faster?i also was wondering if i did switch sd cards and i have my apps backed up on ASTRO on my computer can i pput them back on my new sd card?
I installed a 32 g micro sd card and transfered music to it. I put several (20 or more) albums on it it onlt shows 11. The folders for the other albums are there but they are empty. If I try to add more music I have the same problem with empty folders.
I'm about to migrate from a HTC Touch Cruise (WinMo) to a HTC Desire (Android).I've got a 6GB Micro SD card that's formatted as FAT32 with music, etc. on. Will it run OK on the Desire, or will it need formatting?
I got the new (chinless) HTC Hero today and cannot figure out how to get the back off the phone to access the SD card. I'm afraid to apply to much pressure and break something.Additionally, the SD card is not at the location the manual shows.
I installed a 32 GB micro SD card into my Samsung Galaxy SII. My device appears to recognize it in Settings | Storage since it shows Total space for the SD card as "29.71GB". However, I cannot figure how to browse to the card nor how to move files to it from within the Android OS. From within the My Files app, I cannot change directories from what appears to be the built-in memory since the "Up" icon is grayed out.
How do I access the microSD card by browsing to it and moving files to it?
Thinking of buying a new micro SD card for my phone. As in can I drag and drop copy the entire contents of my old micro SD card into my computer, then drag and drop copy the entire contents into a new micro SD card, and the applications will still work fine? I worry because google might have implemented something to prevent this as a piracy protection measure.
How do I access the files that are on my microsd card? (motorola droid) I've ony had the droid for a few weeks.. and I have no idea how to do this. It was pretty simple with my BB Storm. But I don't see an option anywhere for it.
so the sprint htc hero came with a 2gb sd card right.i have another 4gb one and i want to use that one instead. question is do i just COPY everything over from the 2gb sd card to the 4gb sd card?i tried searching already but maybe i didn't use the right keywords?i typed sd card and all i saw was people asking if it will fit 16gb or 32gb's.
Did anyone pick up a 32gb card from the store yesterday? I heard they would have them in stock but my store did not have any I had them order me a few and overnight so I should get them today.I was just wondering if the reports the day before were true.
