HTC EVO 4G :: Un-installing Stock Apps And Reinstall Them
Aug 22, 2010
I'm having trouble with my facebook app the stock facebook app that came installed on my EVO. ever since i updated to froyo anytime i want to refresh my news feed it says "an error had occurred while fetching data [null]" I dont know what the problem is and i want to un-install the app and then re-install it like i said its the stock facebook app so i dont know how to un-install and re install stock apps.anybody?
Last weekend I rooted my Galaxy S2 and was really happy that everything worked well. Yesterday morning I removed some packages which I thought are not required using Titanium backup without making a backup of them before!
That was in fact a big mistake, what's now happening is that after system reboot a popup appears telling me: process com.sec.android.socialhub was terminated unexpectedly and what's even worse when I start the stock email application (com.android.email) it is terminated, too.
I need that program to connect to my work, they check remotely what application is used.
So my question is: how can I find out what I need to reinstall, where do I get it and how can I reinstall it?
I have several apps that I am told need to be updated. Sometimes the files are downloaded but they won't install or sometimes the files won't even download. One example is "We-Fi Connect." I decided to uninstall this app to see if it would reinstall, but that didn't solve the problem.
I still cannot add an account to gmail. If I delete the Gmail app, is there a way to reinstall it? If in fact I can uninstall it. Actually it's a Google account that I can't add. I can add a gmail acct via the corporate email client.
After months of cursing my phone (MyTouch3g, old one, "B" type), I decided to try a new firmware/ROM as one last chance before I threw it in a river. I have never done this before so I had to learn it all from scratch, I think I did it right...anyway I am now running CyanogenMod 5.0.8 Firmware 2.1 (p.s. I feel like i could take a final exam in computer science now...). All is good, it is fast, pretty and has a few bells and whistles my old OEM rom didn't. But, I don't have ANY APPS. Only camera, gallery, browser, messaging, contacts and dialer. Obviously Cyanogen can not include Google proprietary apps in its package. I did install something that allowed me to sign into my Gmail account (Gapps-ds-ERE36B-signed.zip) so now I get new email notifications, and my contacts list is populated with my google contacts, but I have no "gmail" icon anywhere.
Ok got my droid X rooted and removed a few apps before realizing what renaming them was actually for I understand when the 2.2 comes if all of the stock apps arent on there it will lock down the phone where can I find these apps to reinstall (like system dump or something?)
I've had some odd problems since my Froyo update, calls going straight to voicemail and people not hearing me when I make or receive calls - all intermittent of course! I've decided I'm going to reset to factory and just back up texts and contacts, I'll just reinstall the apps afterwards - probably don't need half of them anyway.. Question is they are all installed on my SD card now, will factory reset get rid of them from the mem card? I want them all gone and to start again...I'd hate to think they were wasting space on my SD card....otherwise I'll have move them back before reset..
I rooted a few weeks ago, am running xtrsense 3.0.1 and apps2sd. Certain apps that i had installed prior to root were not working after root. I tried to uninstall these and reinstall. Whenever I tried the reinstall, there is an error stating insufficient storage available. Checking the SD card, it says 140 MB available. I seem to be able to install new apps, but not reinstall previously installed. The specific apps this has happened with are Better Keyboard, shazam and handcent. Any suggestions?
Recently my Samsung Galaxy Mini went into a boot loop. To solve this, I had to factory reset the phone, deleting all my apps. When I log onto google play, and navigate to my previous apps, it says they are still installed, and won't let me reinstall them. Is there any way round this?
My SGS2 got hanged this morning and i gave it to service center for repairs (software problem), m going to get it back tomorrow. but they are going to wipe all the stuff, is there any way that i can re install all the apps without searching for it one by one??
I have installed some apps from Android Market to my Galaxy y. I needed to reset the factory settings and all the apps in the phone was erased. I only wanted to delete the email account. I tried to go to Android Market to reinstall. But it won't get in my phone anymore even when I click on install. There is a button that says installed. I checked on "manage account" setting and none of the applications are there. From Android market, when I click on "My Library" I see all the apps that I have downloaded before.
Question: Is it not possible to reinstall these free apps again? If so how do I do it?
Has anyone else experienced an issue I've complained numerous times about yet can't get resolution: When users upgrade our My Coupons app, apparently there is a service left unclosed. Fine. The issue being, the old service code interferes with the new code and users uninstall then reinstall immediately in attempt to resolve. Google registers the uninstalls, but not the reinstalls.
I repeat, the market registers the uninstalls, but prompt reinstallations DO NOT get registered!
I can verify this occurs as each time the app is first run it notifies our servers, and we've got record of each install. This record vastly differs from the statistics google is reporting. These records are verifiably unique users.
I have a stock N1 with terrible battery life. I have stumbled intersectRaven's mod/Kernel at: [URL] .....
I would like to ask how I can install this on my N1, is it just a matter of downloading the right file, renaming it to update.zip and then doing what I've done to update my phone as with official updates?
What do I need to pay attention to and is there a way to revert back to the original rom/Kernel if I'm having issues with this mod or if I want to sell my phone?
I've been trying to search around but I'm not coming up with anything Is this possible to do?I miss being able to long-press a key to get its "shift" key (numbers, symbols, etc) instead of having to press the 123 key to switch layouts every time.I also liked how the "click" sound wasn't as loud as the typewriter-like sound on the non-Sense keyboard yes I like to have the sound and vibrate on - makes it feel like more of a button press instead of nothing I tried Swype before and still ended up going back to the HTC keyboard before I rooted. Are there any similar options? (or can I find the HTC keyboard apk anywhere??)
When doing a Nandroid backup for the second time, does it override the first backup? If I backup after I root with default stock Android, then do another when installing a morph with the Desire ROM, are both kept or is the stock deleted and the Desire kept?
So basically my Samsung Galaxy S3 was SIM locked when I bought it. After getting it unlocked (long after warranty was void) I noticed the guys installed a really bad ROM and I want to reflash with a stock firmware. Will this lock my phone to a single network provider SIM card again?
Anyone ever had this happen? Downloaded an update after the 2.1 upgrade and I sync'd my contacts with FB. It then deleted all of my contacts. So I deleted Facebook, re-stored all my contacts and reloaded Facebook. However, now it gets as far as installing and it never stops. It just stays on Installing. However, the FB app works fine on the phone itself. Is this a Market glitch? Is there anyway I can purge it from out of my downloads section?
Since the Evo has just been announced by Sprint that all of us employees / club members can now get the Evo starting tonight at midnight est., I would like to ask all of the forum users where we should all start. I know these forums will take off once all of these new users get their phones and have questions. Is there some basics that we should do before we install too many apps? Recommended first apps? Root or not?
Almost all the apps I try to download on my t-mobile pulse don't download, a message appears in the message window saying 'download unsuccessful.' It happens alot even thought I have full connection and alot of memory space. Does anyone know what is wrong and how can I fix it?
Hey guys i want to install some apps to my phone (HTC HD2) from my pc but everything i have tried so far wont work. i have tried looking for apps installer on marketplace to no avail, tried using 2 diffrent adb's but none will pick up my phone. does anyone know how i can achieve this ?
I'm not sure if this is normal or not, but my phone slows down for a good 5-10 seconds after I download/install an app. It's virtually unusable for that time - it happens every time I download one.usually when the notification bar alerts me that it's finished downloading or installing.
I'm running cyanogen mod 9 on my samsung galaxy s plus and I don't really like some stuff like the file manager.I have downloaded a gb backup of samsung's stock file manager but whenever I try to install it I get the error"app not installed".I have tried to put it ino system/app and reboot my phone. It is there but still I can't install or use it. I don't really want to reflash the gapps...
I go to Market click something to download tells me forever that its downloading. When I finally hit cancel tell me to install.Do it nothing shows up in my programs - nothing.Been trying this for days. Also hit by mistake things I don't want like "Swedish Dictionary".Tried to cancel but it is still in my useless Download list. How can I remove ithems from this list?
