HTC EVO 4G :: Slide Down To Unlock Feature - No Way To Set Delay?

Jul 3, 2010

You know when you turn off the screen. The slide down to unlock feature, there's NO way to set a delay for this to come on? What I would like would be to remove that slide down to unlock feature and just have the pattern lock on (with a delay option). But i hate having the slide down to unlock, and then unlock again with a pattern. No way to 1) delay the slide to unlock feature or 2)remove the slide to unlock and only have the pattern lock working?(with a delay feature if possible, say only show up after 2hours has passed) My windows mobile phone had this simple option built in.

HTC Desire :: Slide To Unlock And Lock Pattern

Jun 5, 2010

After some 10 days with my Desire, I am close to getting it 'just right'...

However, I would like to configure the phone to use only the hardware button and the lock pattern in order to use the phone, and bypass the 'slide down' process.

I have tried various permutations and addons but to no avail ...

So to recap:

1 - press upper hardware button
2 - enter lock pattern

Motorola Droid :: For Those Who Tired Having To Slide To Unlock

Jan 5, 2010

I think more people will see this in the Droid forum than in the software forum, plus, it's a major complaint among Droid users that they have to press that unlock button, and THEN still slide to unlock. Here's the app (myLock for Android):myLock for android It's pretty awesome. Uncheck run in foreground mode if you don't want the icon in the notification bar.It also forgoes the slider if you slide open your keyboard. Notice that if your keyboard is a bit loose, this could cause it to unlock in your pocket.

I didn't do this on purpose and can't figure out how to get the lock screen back, searches aren't helping either.

Motorola Droid X :: Slide To Unlock Option - 1 Day To Late

Sep 22, 2010

I maybe 1 day to late to let everyone in on this, completely forgot about this issue.OK, I've been seeing a lot of the same post with slide to unlock problems, or more the entire thing is missing problem. I saw the same issues back when the leaks were being applied. People whom had disabled the lock, updated the leak, didn't have the lock anymore nor did they have the option to add it back if they wanted to. I was (and still am) in the same boat, but the opposite. I had the lock active before the leak and after the update I still had it, the new one, but theres no option to turn it off. Now I have seen a couple threads where Moto has been contacted after a failed attemp with Verizon and they said that yes, an option should be in the settings like the original 2.1 - but its not.I should have remembered this, and at least posted a thread stating - "If you want your screen to lock, have it active before you update, if not, do the oposite" I've only seen one instance that someone had theirs disabled and it was active after the OTA, but again, they can't remove it.

If anyone else has noticed this ( I do understand that a lot of people just go day2day using their lock without thinking twice and never look to disable it ) please post below the results before and after the OTA, also include if you were leaked, reverted, OTA - or rooted. Maybe different variables produce different results.
Hope this helps some with their lock, and maybe if I'm correct some will catch it before they OTA their X.

General :: Automatically Switch Between Pattern And Slide To Unlock?

Apr 3, 2012

if there is a way to automatically switch between pattern and slide to unlock based on location? I know there are automation apps out there, such as tasker and setting profiles. I tried the LITE version of setting profiles and it does have an option to disable the lock screen completely, but not to switch between pattern and slide lock screens. I'd like to have a slide to unlock while at home, but have it change to a more secure pattern unlock when I leave home.

My guess is that this would be difficult because whenever you manually change between slide to unlock and pattern it asks you for your pattern, i.e. it doesn't seem to store your pattern if you ever disable it. I haven't tried tasker because it doesn't have a free demo version, but I would assume that if tasker (or another automation app) does have this ability, it would have to somehow store your pattern so that it can re-implement it, making it possibly insecure?

I'm not sure if there is a custom ROM that will do this. I'm currently running 4.0.4 plain vanilla rooted and unlocked on Verizon LTE Gnex.

General :: Xperia Arc S - Disable (Slide To Unlock) On Android 2.3

Sep 8, 2012

My phone is Xperia Arc S, android version 2.3.4 Phone is rooted.

Now, I think I used ALL utilities there are to keep that damn unlock slide from appearing every time I turn my phone on. "No lock", and all that stuff, a lot. But all of those apps fail from time to time which makes me mad. Why the unlock exists at all?! A stupid invention of apple. WM didn't have it and was just fine.

Anyway. Is there a way to kill that unlock once and forever?! I guess editing some file with Root Explorer might work (did so already to prevent my Arc from waking up by "home" button - just edited some "keyboard.txt" file in text editor). Something like that, a real hack, not an app again, I guess those apps get kiled sometimes by system, no matter what... so they fail accidentally.
