Samsung Fascinate :: Still Can't View PDF Attachment In E-mail Client With I500.DI01 Update
This is a big disappointment for me. As reported in the "known issues" leaked document, you cannot view a PDF from the standard e-mail client. You have to save the attachment to SD then use a file explorer to find the file and view it. A huge pain! I was sure hoping yesterday's update would fix this issue, but it did not. If VZW and Sammy hope to make this phone a contender in the business market, this must be fixed. Email 101 guys. I know I can use Touchdown, but don't like how it integrates with the rest of the phone. I was pleased to see pinch and zoom on the email client, unlike the Droid X/2, but this lack of PDF attachment viewing is just unacceptable!

Android :: Cannot View Images From SD Card On Emulator
I have just started learning to develop for the G1 after two weeks of joyful us of my actual G1. I have however, come across a stumbling block in my development learning. I have successfully emulated an SD Card on the emulator. However, now, after saving an image from the browser to the phone I cannot 'View Picture' or 'Crop Picture' for a wallpaper. All I get when trying to access the picture is an error message saying: "The application Camera (process com.android.camera) has stopped automatically. Please try again." Does anyone know why this is or how to get around/fix it?

Android :: View / Upload SD Card Pics From DSLR?
Can I move an SD card from my Canon dSLR to an Android phone and view / upload the pics? I'm a sports photographer on a budget (so another $30 data plan for a laptop is out), so that functionality for select photos would be great. I'm planning to upgrade to an android phone once the Incredible comes to Verizon.

When I put the file in res/raw folder, I can play the video using Uri.parse("android.resource://<package>/" + R.raw.id_video) However, when I put the same file in the filesystem, it plays properly. I use videoView.setVideoPath("/sdcard/myfile.mp4");

Sprint HTC Hero :: Contacts From AT&T Sim Card Not Showing In People / Way To View
I just bought a Hero yesterday and had the Sprint store transfer my contacts from my AT&T sim card. Everything seemed to work fine except when he looked in the "people" icon, nothing was there. So after a few more tries I left. When I got home, I noticed that all my sim card contacts, including my Facebook contacts, were visible when I hit the "phone" icon. My question is, how do I get my contacts in the "people" icon? I want them on the first tab "all". I was able to get one of my contacts in the "favorites" tab but it takes too long to get there. I want to hit "people" and see all my contacts right away.

Android :: Browse To Folder On Phone / SD Card For View Photos Inside?
Is there an application that will allow you to browse to a folder on your phone/SD care and view the photos inside? If it were on a linux PC I would be installing GThumb, on windows ACDSEE. I have tried Photo Burst. It crashes and I had to reset the phone. I have tried Picture Viewer but the latest version does not pan at all. The only way to do something like this with the stock viewer is to have all your photos in the root of the sdcard in folders or within download. Not really the neatest way of doing this.

Android :: Write Contents Of Custom View To Large Image File On SD Card
I have a class that extends View. I override the onDraw method and allow the user to draw on the screen. I am at the point where I want to save this view as an image. I Can use buildDrawingCache and getDrawingCache to create a bitmap that I can write to the SD card. However, the image is not good quality at a large size, it has jagged edges. Since I have a View and I use Paths I can transform all by drawing to a bigger size. I just don't know how to make the Canvas bigger so when I call getDrawingCache it doesn't crop all the paths I am just transformed. What is happening is I transform all my paths but when I write the Bitmap to file I am only getting the "viewport" of the actual screen size. I want something much bigger.

HTC EVO 4G :: Opening Attachment In Email
Had the phone now two weeks. Got the upgrade to 2.2 from sprint succesfully. Enjoying the power of this machine for sure. I lurk here a lot and have learned tons for sure from reading, reading, reading sometimes till the wee hours. Three things I still can't seem to figure out. 1. Opening an attachment in an email: When a pic or doc file comes in I can't seem to view it. I click "view attachment" it shows the name of the file and the size but does not open the file or download it for me to see. What am I doing wrong? Some kind of settings issue maybe? 2. Deleting a file: I downloaded a pdf file off the internet and now I wish to delete it. Menu does not show an option to delete when I am viewing thde file with pdf viewer. Any ideas? 3. Voice email: I love the voice texting, voice emailing, etc but when I open an email to compose new and use the speak option to speak the name of a current contact (who has an email as part of his contact info) it does not try to auto fill that like it would if I hand texted it in. In other words, say I begin a new email and in the TO box I click the microphone and speak john smith. It types his name in but does not recognize him from contacts and fill in his email address like it does if I start to type j o h n s m by hand. I must be doing something wrong here too maybe?

Strangely if I setup my GMail account via pop in the MAIL app I can attach the file without issues. A bug on my phone or is anyone else having the odd issue? Google overlooked something? Is it fixed in froyo?

Android :: Read Data From USB Attachment
Is there anyway to read data from an attachment through the USB port on an Android device? In particular, an EKG. Most the work can be done by the hardware of the device to simplify the output to a single number, a voltage reading. If its not possible, what about modifying an accessory that can already communicate with an android device? Thinking of devices that attach to android phones, what about sending the data as an audio signal to be read as the microphone from a headset and then analyzing the audio signal to convert it to a number that can be used to display a value. how to make this work?
