View 49 RepliesI don't want my contacts to be synced with Google. IIRC, this was possible in 2.x. Having upgraded to 4.0.4, I'm not able to disable Google contacts.
I'd like to:
1. Disable contact sync (this works)
2. Change all contacts from Google contacts to phone contacts
3. Add new contacts as phone contacts by default.
Using the "Accounts and Sync" settings, I'm only able to deselect "Sync Contacts", but I can't find a way to move the contacts and disable the creation of new Google contacts.
I was wondering if there was a way for me to move all my phone contacts to google contacts?

So I was smart enough to add all my contacts in Gmail first and then just have it sync to my phone. No problem. But now I have added phone numbers of people as I got them on the phone, but they don't show up in my Contacts on Gmail. How do I get them there?
how do I tell if the contacts are saved on Gmail, the phone, or the SIM card?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm about the take the Android (EVO specifically) plunge. I'm coming from an old Palm phone. Wow, talk about a quantum leap. Anyway, to prepare for the move, how do I get my Palm contacts into Gmail's contacts? Is that how it works? I need to move my Palm contacts to Gmail contacts, right? Then when I get my new EVO, it will sync with Gmail and my contacts will be in the new phone?

View 17 Replies View RelatedSo the DROID easily synced up with FB and gmail (awesome btw) but I was wondering if I can move my facebook contacts over to Google. The majority of my contacts were imported from FB because I accidentally wiped my old phone, and both Google and FB are set to sync, but I see that my contacts present on the phone were not added to Google.
View 1 Replies View RelatedThis might be a dumb question but how can I copy or move a contact that is from my work email over to my gmail account on my phone? I could have sworn I did this before but now don't see how to do it. I have a samsung moment with the 2.1 update. I searched here and on the web and didn't see anything.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a group on gmail called coworkers. I added many of the employees in my company as contacts. I am now running Launcher Pro as well for what that is worth. I found the option to check coworkers as a group, but I can't figure out how to associate or move the employee contacts under that group. What am I missing? Or am I going about this the wrong way entirely?

I have used eclipse to design an android app which runs fine on the emulator and I now want to transfer it to my phone. View 2 Replies View RelatedMy phone worries me, I have an LG Vortex and it's about two years old and it's starting to malfunction, so I figure its time for a new phone. The only thing preventing me from purchasing a new phone is that I need to keep my messages and switch it to a new phone. Can I just take it to Verizon, or maybe RadioShack, and ask them to do this, I know they can move contacts over, don't know about messages... Or is there an app that I can do this with, or something online, or anything. I'll pay for it if necessary, it's just very important I keep my current messages. !

After many weeks of waiting and my fiasco almost switching to an Incredible, my X finally arrived today. I'm new to the forum but have been reading around since ordering my phone. I don't intend to root at the moment because it's not what i need and I want to see how I like froyo. I will be using launcher pro but I really want these, or similar, dock icons but can't seem to locate them. I don't need to root or anything to get the completely transparent dock background do I? And for those with macs, what do you feel that the best way to move things between your phone and mac are? I plan on using double twist unless someone can mention something they feel is better!

I want to know if I can move the backup folder from my phone to my PC (due to the complete erase that'll happen eventually), and then move it back. Will my phone recognize the backup as long as I use the same app to restore and have TWRP installed?
