HTC EVO 4G :: How To Clear Up Some Memory On SD Card?
Sep 26, 2010
But I am afraid to delete something that might hurt my phone. I flashed some pics with ShootMe of my sd contents. If anyone can spare a moment, please take a look and tell me if you spot anything that I can get rid of safely
I own an Android based handset. It keep telling me that its internal memory is low. I've uninstalled many unused 3rd part apps, and restart the device. Its still saying its running low. I guess there are cache's/legacy files remaining somewhere.
I just received my first warning "my internal memory was getting low". I have the same number of apps I installed 5 months ago. But my internal memory has been steadily going down. I have cleared out browser cache, cookies, form data and any thing I could shut off or eliminate. I still only have 17 mb. Of memory left. My phone is getting sluggish too.
I clear that will it delete everything out of my calendar (and then sync up to Google calendar wiping all my events? Or will it clear everything on the phone and then start to re-populate the phone calendar with my online Google calendar? Is there somewhere in android you tell it to only sync X number of weeks with the calendar - I vaguely remember seeing this before but I forget where.
I have a 4GB SD card and it thinks that it has a total of 200MB on there (Its empty). I have tried formatting it using my Mac & via the phone itself but it continues to believe that its a 200MB MiniSD card.
Not had my desire long but down loaded a few apps for it they all seem to be stored on phone memory not the sd card. what is stored to the sd card seems to be unused so far. do you have to set it up to use sd card or does it know one is fitted. does it switch to sd card when phone memory full. will run out of space soon if can't get things to store to card instead of phone mem.
33MB worth of data. Obviously all contacts will be backed up in gmail. So I can't lose anything permanently. But will I lose my favorites menu on my Desire? What other hassle will I have to go through if I Clear Data for contacts?
I have set of images fetched from internet and set it on gridview, here i have option to click here to view more, below the grid view and it fetches images and set it on grid with prevoius set of images, when i exit the application and run it again, the previous set of images remain in cache and grid shows images from cache, here i need to clear my application cache memory, when i exited my application.how can i get it.
I'm wanting to learn more about android. Is there a way to use memory from the sd card for the phones internal memory? Is there an app that will tell me whats useing up so much memory? I'm on the ZTE warp sequent ,rooted.
Hey for anyone that needs a good memory card for their phone for music or whatever. I found a deal on a kingston class 4 8gb microsdhc for $16.95 with free shipping and no tax for most: Kingston 8GB microSDHC Card - (Class 4) - SDC4/8GB - Buy.com
so I was jokin around with my friend at a bar and we started looking up naughty pictures with a free pron program that I found on the market. We were comparing the people in the bar to the people in the photos and we found some hilarious matches. Anyway, that was last Thursday. Now I see that the pictures that were pulled up on my phone are now easily viewable by merely trying to attach a picture to a text message or an email. Basically, if anyone looks at my phone and tries to see my pictures or something they will see these stupid pictures. The phone says these pictures are saved in the SD Card Cache. How can I clear this cache? I've unmounted the card, twice. No go. I've uninstalled the horrible program (it was free and you get what you pay for, I guess). I needs me some help! I've been perusing the interwebs looking for help and this forum seemed like the most active place right now.
how to access sd card and clear cache. I am having a problem were I open e-mail w/ attachment and then it ask's if I want to save to the sd card. So I do and now I can not find the attachment, or when I open it it just prompts to save gain.Thank you for any help.
I have no access to a computer so i have a question, i have a 4gb micro sd that has my music and photos on it, do the apps install on the phone itself or the 8gb card? How can i get the music and photos from my 4gb onto my 8gb card without a computer?
I'm contemplating making an android version of my iPhone app. One of the attractions is the availability of a micro/miniSD card from Spectec that has an Ant+ radio in it, to communicate with Ant+ protocol devices.
The technical feasibility of this is not my question; but rather its practicality:
This obviously involves taking out the SD memory card in the handset and replacing it with one with no on-board memory, leaving the device with only the builtin 256mb or whatever. this is plenty for my app, but I'm concerned that, aside from annoying the user by having all their music removed, there will be apps on the users device that save data to the SD and will be broken by removing the SD memory.
I have no idea whats going on with my EVO but my memory card keeps getting corrupted.
It started when I was trying to "hide" some pictures using Photovault. All the sudden it couldn't hide or see my already hidden photos'. All of my porn was like totally gone! Seriously though, it corrupted all my phones pictures. Thinking it was the Photovault app, I uninstalled and went to reinstall. Well installer cant see any of the app apk files I have on my mem card.
Then I noticed my MP3's were corrupted, all the sudden it reports there a format the phone cant use and I notice files are just plain missing when I view folders with Astro.
I hooked my EVO to the PC and it wanted me to run check disk on the phone/mem card so I did. This hung causing me to have to hard reboot the phone.
All my data was now gone and Windows 7 reports I need to format this device blah blah blah. I tried to format from within Windows 7, no go. So I formatted from within the phone.
I copied a backup of my memory card I had back to the memory card and all seemed fine.
Hour later I'm right back where I was before, shits getting corrupted again. I again formatted from within the phone but did not copy over my backup as I was at work when this happened.
I fired up Astro though and I see still most of my files even thought I formatted from within the phone.
I didn't want to do the OTA update thingy for fear of loosing root. You know the one that was for the mem card issues. I thought formatting it was all I really needed to do. Maybe not?
Right now I'm doing a full format of the memory card out of the phone and attached to a Sandisk micro usb reader/writer.
So I just got me a G1 earlier this week but my question is this. Even though their website says the max size card you can put in is 8GB I have seen somewhere you can put one in a little bigger, so there for I am wondering what is the biggest memory card that can be put in this thing? I currently use a 2GB one that I had in my former nokia 5310.
I got my Wildfire a few days ago and have transferred work files, music etc over onto it along with installing a load of apps. The problem I have is that there is an 8GB memory card with 2.2 gb free and yet it keeps telling me the memory is low (17.31mb on the internal phone storage) and yet it is only giving me the option to uninstall things,. How do I move apps or anything else onto the sd card as I can't find a menu for this.
Will this memory card be any good for my Desire or will I need a different one. I need one that is just cheap and not too slow. Wanted too store pictures etc. http://www.play.com/Mobiles/Mobile/4-/3564175/Sandisk-8GB-Micro-SDHC-Memory-Card/Product.html
I have bought a new memory card, Lexar 8GB, however when I put it in my phone and take out the original 4GB one there is a sign in the top left corner with a pic of the card with a '?' next to it. I'm not very good with technology either. I have downloaded the software online and tried to sync it but nothing seems to work. What do I have to do so I can use my 8GB one?
