My camera stopped working. When I click my camera application I get the message "The application camera (process com.android.camera) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again". It's just a blank screen?View 3 Replies View Related
My Flash on the camera has stopped working all of a sudden. I checked the camcorder and the light (flash on) didn't work. I tapped the back of the phone near the flash. It worked. I went back to camera and turned on flash, it worked. So by tapping something I jigged something around in there and the flash was working.View 1 Replies View Related
When I click on the camera or video Icon. It goes to load it to where you see the black screen with the white camera and then quickly goes back to the home screen.View 8 Replies View Related
Bought a HTC Desire and just cannot get its camera flash working. Obviously having hard time with people at the shop ("have you tried taking these pictures at night, maybe it understands that it is still daytime even if you tried it in bathroom"). My dumb brain would suggest that manual - flash always on (unless that 5% battery limit is not hit), automatic - depends on sensor income, off - no flash. Really hard to search for stuff like that in forums as usually "flash not working" refers to Adobe Flash.View 1 Replies View Related
Has anyone got this problem like me? yesterday it happened to me for the 2nd time, I just click the camera app and out of nowhere I got a black screen, like camera freezes or something. So first time what I did was make a factory reset and everything was back to normal, and that was beforo Froyo, now when I am running Froyo, I wonder when I make a factory reset does it turns me all the way back to the stock desire, without new software version and Froyo update? I have bought Desire on contract so I have everything official, no unbranded or rooted phone.View 3 Replies View Related
I'm a little disappointed with the Evo's camera and camcorder. It's kind of fuzzy and the sound is pretty bad. Is this a hardware issue or a software issue? Is there a hack you can do to make it better? I heard somewhere its a compression and fps issue. Please don't give me answers like "the Evo's quality is great" or "get a real camera".View 6 Replies View Related
I have a rooted phone with froyo.
Just got the phone today I was putting music on my phone from doubleTwist everything was going fine.
Then i put pictures / videos on my phone and i started getting an SD error and my camera stopped working.
So i reformatted the SD card and the card started to read fine but the camera is still not working
The camera / video looks like its just flashing red & white no picture at all.
(I tried google goggles as well and it looks the same)
Camera was working FINE before SD problems started
Tried doing a factory reset too
I'm trying to get the camera preview running on my G2.
This is the code I'm testing with, which was taken from the sample code. It is using supplemental code supplied by Wu-Cheng, but its still throwing an error.
I was really excited to be one of the 25 lucky ones to get a droid x today, but my camera doesn't seem to be working. At first it worked fine, just seemed a bit laggy, then allof a sudden the phone would restart wheni would open the camera app. Now the camera app just shows a blackscreen. I have reset the phone and restarted several times with no change.View 17 Replies View Related
While I know you can use camera magic for your camera needs with a froyo rom..figured I'd share the good news. There is a CELB 1.9 rom (aka erislightning bolt froyo) that has WORKING cam...the gallery still goes funky when you try to view sideways but the cam DOES indeed have a working preview!
[ROM] CELB Froyo 1.9(5MP Camera with Preview, Apps2sd,MMS,Market,Wifi, )
After many frustrations i just had to comment on the updates out there.NOT all the froyo 2.2 updates are effective. after loading one of the most popular ones, everything went right until it booted up.I had no camera, no video, and my SD card was constantly looking for errors!after searching extensively, I figured what the heck, and seen a post for 2.2 WITH CAMERA that works advertised. I installed over the existing one, and when it rebooted ALL was well with my rooted 2.2 incredible.
Couple of things I do agree on..Make sure you have ASTRO loaded, and ROM Manager. Make no mistake I am not Technically Brilliant but it is easy with these programs. The file that worked flawlessly and got my camera back was ...
20100727_stock_froyo_signed....Look for it....it works!..this all started when i kept trying to get Wireless Tether to work.I have tried Kernels (which screwed up froyo) had to redo it again...also tried every version out there..so for the time being until someone gets it right..I am using PDANET which works great! even though you need a usb hookup...
Again, updating is easy with the right files.
1-update radio. EASY (If you have to.DO NOT update radio more than once)!
3-ADD above froyo 2.2 EASY...

When launching the camera or camcorder the icon for either the camera or camcorder appears in the middle of the screen for a fraction of a second then the app closes. sd card is mounted and i can read existing pictures and videos off it.i unmounted and remounted the card. issue remains.View 8 Replies View Related
I updated to froyo 2.2 yesterday and ever since the camera, camcorder and YouTube apps flash open for a second and immediately close. I called Sprint's tech support and the lady said that Sprint did not work the bugs out of it for their phones yet, and that I have to go to the store and have them completely wipe it. This is unacceptable because I literally have put thousands of things on my evo. Is there anything else that can be done?View 5 Replies View Related
I just rooted and flashed to khaosfroyo last night and didn't realize that the camera didn't work until today. So now I want to flash to CELBFroyo1.9 but I am not sure what I need to do to flash that one.View 4 Replies View Related

In my Application the camera preview is working properly in both in portrait and in landscape mode. No crashes are occurring, but the users are complaining that the crashes are occurring when they are using the same.View 1 Replies View Related
When I start the camera up, it shows nothing but black (no, the lens isn't covered in any way/shape/form).
Done numerous restarts and a factory reset.
My camera is not working since the FROYO udate.View 6 Replies View Related
I only got this phone 2 days ago and I don't think the camera is working, or I need to set it up somehow.
Firstly, the button on the side doesn't activate it. It does go into it from the apps screen though.
However, when you push the camera button to take a photo, it focusses for a brief time then it bleeps loudly and the focus square on the screen turns green. It never actually takes the shot.
I dropped my phone in the toilet and it was completely water damaged. Its working fine now only problem is the camera is not working now. It keeps forcing close.....View 2 Replies View Related

I noticed at some point after the upgrade to CL14 (done via sprint) that my flash on the camera isn't working. This could have been happening before the upgrade but i doubt it.
Anyways so the camera doesn't light up the flash. I saw it light up the flash once since I started troubleshooting but thats about it. I switched back and forth between flash on/off a dozen times or so.
Downloaded momentflash. Low and behold i started the app and it worked! Then i tried turning the flash on again and no luck. So i uninstalled, rebooted phone over and over again, no luck. I then did some reading and realized there was a widget. Put that on the desktop and again the FIRST time i ran the widget the flash worked. then it stopped again. I haven't been able to light it up since then.
I haven't been able to do much troubleshooting when it does work, but it doesn't seem hardware related. it stays on until i hit off, but i didn't get a chance to wiggle it around to see if contacts needed cleaing, etc...
Just wondering if anyone had any ideas? I don't think its any apps i have installed as i have pretty standard ones and had those on when it was working ( i believe at least).
i also tried killing all my running apps to see if any were causing conflict, then restarting momentflash and it still wouldn't light it up...
any help would be great, I don't really know what else to try. Looked at the android logs and nothing jumped out as having an issue.
I could probably try hard resetting but don't want to restore the phone again if i don't have to.
I finally rooted and installed fresh 1.1 and now my camera is not working? tried rebooting still camera, video camera, and even barcose scanner?View 4 Replies View Related

So I rooted for the first time today, and tried to install Hydra Kernel's #1 & #3 kernels. The system seems completely stable with each kernel, except when I open the Camera app, the camera view is completely blank. Almost as if something was blocking the lens. Then when I try and take a photo, it locks up. I tried closing all apps, and restarting the camera, but this didn't work. Once I run a Nandroid restore prior to installing the kernels, the camera works fine.View 7 Replies View Related
last week i installed the leaked OTA and i really like it so i decided to stick with it. I have been debating for a while whether or not to root. Well today i finally took the plunge and had zero issues. Then i decided to install the 1.15 ghz OC Hydra Kernel and it is awesome, makes the phone really snappy. I havent seen any lag at all. Well the only issue i have found is my camera wont work. I open it and it is just a black screen. At first i do have my normal options, i can choose everything on the left slider and the zoom, flash buttons. Also i noticed the brightness gets turned up. But its like there is a lens cap on it. It does not display anything the lens is seeing. I tried rebooting and it still did the same thing. Is this possibly becuase i installed the leaked OTA first and the Kernel is not compatible? Has anyone else seen this?View 5 Replies View Related
A few weeks ago, my camera flash/flashlight stopped working. I didn't know the cause. Occassionally, I noticed the flash would come on very dull before going out again. Then it stopped working completely. Although I was unable to find a thread suggesting that anyone else was having this problem, I figured that my bulbs must have died. I kept meaning to go get it checked out at a Sprint store, but I just wasn't making time to go. Last week, one of the corners on my PhantomSkinz cover got beat up a little bit. I have another set here ready to go (matte instead of the clear), and I was going to put the new skin on, but I decided I should go to the Sprint store to have my flash looked at first just in case they were going to replace my device. So I went this morning.
I waited for about two hours while a tech worked on my phone. I kept being reassured that it would be done soon, so I kept waiting around. When the CS rep brought me my phone, she said that they had been unable to fix the flash. They had replaced the bulbs without success, so they replaced the entire camera and still had no success. Then they did a wipe of my phone, and still the flash wouldn't work. Replacement device should be here tomorrow..............
I'm considering getting the Galaxy S, but the only drawback I can see right now if the absence of a flash for the camera. I know flashes on camera phones aren't all that great, but they do help in many situations. I read in a couple places that this phone has a night mode negating the need for the flash. So far I have not been able to find any sample photos taken in low light conditions, say a portrait of friends in a dark restaurant, or at a party. Can those of you who have the phone post some sample shots in these conditions?View 5 Replies View Related
Phone gets to 15% (which is plenty of battery IMO) and I can't take a pic. Get in a car wreck and need to take some photos? oh no 15% battery because its the end of the day and you forgot your charger. Need to snap a pic of a deadly snake that just bit your dog to take with you to the vet's office? can't low battery. These 2 events happened to me (wasn't driving though). When I start the camera up, it shows nothing but black (no, the lens isn't covered in any way/shape/form). If I hit the track ball as usual it acts as though it's taking a picture though it's also nothing but black. What am I missing here? BTW, I'm on 2.1 and did a factory reset two days ago.View 7 Replies View Related
This morning my camera and video camera would open and then immediately close down. I shut the phone down and rebooted. Camera still did not open. Next, I shutdown the phone and removed the battery. After a few moments, I reinstalled the battery and rebooted. The camera still would not open. I had to do other work, so I just set the phone aside for a few hours. When I came back, I tried the camera again and after a short pause it opened, but not as smoothly as in the past. It is still not opening as it should. First it displays a very quick view of the desktop with an error message. It goes too fast for me to read and then it opens the camera app.View 1 Replies View Related

Use adb logcat, DDMS, or the DDMS perspective in Eclipse to examine the Java stack trace associated with your error.
When do you expect it to get fixed? I am a developer working on http://layar.eu and I had to go through lot of trouble to get the app working in portrait mode with camera preview, using a LOT of rotations. I have managed to get everything rotated to portrait except for the on screen inputmethod which still shows up in landscape. Do you have any suggestions for rotating that?View 9 Replies View Related

Installed the new leaked froyo and now my camera does not work. Both Pic and video app come up but the screen is black. Also my internal 8gb of storage says "Unavailable". I tried formatting the storage a few times and reboot each time and nothing.
I had root my Dinc the old way so I unrooted back to stock, installed the first OTA, then rooted using the Unprovoked tool then installed the 2.2 zip file. Every step went exactly as the videos showed. Can anyone help me?

My camera used to work perfectly. My pics were amazing, and it was just amazing. The focus was never off. Clear, crisp, sharp images. Now, out of nowhere it seems, the camera won't focus. My images are EXTREMELY blurry. It's terrible. Even when I'm just setting up to take the pic, the image looks blurry on the screen. It's bad enough that I can no longer even get the barcode scanner to work. I'm assuming that something wrong with my lens and not anything to do with software etc. And yes, I've cleaned it. And cleaned it. And cleaned it to no avail.View 3 Replies View Related
My auto focus has been really inconsistent recently, some days it will work for a little but for the most part it doesn't focus anymore. I've also been having a lot of issues with the headphone jack, what should I do? btw, my insurance on my phone is protectcell. Do you think they would consider upgrading me to a Droid 2 or a better phone? (my phones rooted, I changed roms to see if that was the issue, but the problem still occurs)View 2 Replies View Related
Got the Droid X on 7/15, everything was great, got the system update, now the camera won't work. Black screen only, even though both the Camera and Camcorder apps behave like they're working (with a black screen). Cannot take pictures at all, can take video, although no image is shown and playback of videos is a completely black screen.
I look in the camera and it looks like the shutter is open, although I'm not 100% certain what a closed shutter would look like. I think I can see the lens.
I did a full System Restore, the problem did not go away.
I've tried the camera app from the marketplace, facebook, etc., all treat the camera in the same way: just a black screen.
Trying to take a picture, the focus noise doesn't even sound.
This was working prior to the update, albeit in a leggy manner. Should I return my Droid X, or is there some other software / use fix I have not tried?
