Jun 14, 2010How can a person stop apps from loading auto? Some of them are killing my battery, like the Weather Channel app, Music, Qik, sprint Navigation, mp3 store etc.

Samsung Moment :: Prevent Apps From Loading Automatically
Dec 4, 2009I just switched to the Moment and I'm really digging it so far, except for the battery. I was wondering if anyone knows of an app out there or some settings that can prevent apps from loading automatically. Often, I find that apps like Sprint Nav, Sprint TV, Moxier Mail, etc. loaded automatically. I'm getting tired of killing apps all day long to save memory and battery. It seems like my Moment doesn't want to run with more than 30mb free cause it just keeps loading apps until it gets to around 26-30mb.

Jul 7, 2010Is it normal for Pandora to not go to the next song until I turn on my Dinc screen? (my screen is set to go off after 30 seconds.) As soon as I hit the top button to wake my screen, the next song loads, but if I don't, Pandora will not load the next song, although it does finish the current song.

Sep 8, 2010For some reason, sometimes when I boot up my phone, I'm unable to use the apps that are on my sdcard (froyo no root). It's not that my sdcard doesn't work, because I'm still able to listen to music.
It also happens most of the time I connected my phone to my pc and then reconnect it. I sometimes also can't unmount the sdcard. this happened before and I tried factory restoring the phone and reformating the sdcard. It seemed to work for a while, but now the problem has returned.
HTC Wildfire :: Apps Not Loading
Jul 6, 2010Trying to install apps on their wildfire? I read the post below about some apps not working on the wildfire, but from that thread it looks more to do with the screen. The latest app I tried to download was keeper password protector. When I try to install it from appbrain it says it cannot be found, and when I try to find in market it doesn't exist. Its like the app has been removed from the market. I know it can be downloaded as my girlfriend has a desire and it is fine on that.

Apr 21, 2009Is is possible to load/install apps by simply putting the APK file on a SD Card?
I'm trying to figure out a way to preinstall apps (prior to handing them out i mean) in a large corporate environment without the need of going though Marketyplace.
I know I can point the device to an APK file on the web and do an install that way, but I'm looking for a way to preinstall the app in a more expedited way. Ideally, writing this onto SD and poping in the Card into each device is ideal in our setup. Is this possible? Any suggestions?
General :: Unnecessary Loading Of Apps?
Mar 12, 2013I own xperia Neo V. Rooted recently. I found that a few apps like Hill climb racing, Zedge, Youtube Latitude etc.. are constantly loading as widgets or under other category into my RAM. I installed android assistant to see the list of processes in memory and found that these apps are loading constantly. RAM gets equipped quite soon and system performance gets degaraded. I also installed Next Launcher 3D. Would it be any cause for this? I also tried a few task killer apps especially from one of the XDA developers (Boost my Xperia) it is excellent, frees up memory by removing unncessary apps, but after a few minuts, RAM gets laoded by leaving only 35-40MB of free space.

Dec 7, 2011I just picked up a new 32 GB micro SD card for my infuse and at first I had trouble getting anything to read it, but it turned out to be something with the directories (specifically my mp3 player).
But now half of my apps won't get past the "loading" status and I imagine it's because some of the data is on the old SD card. They do load just fine when I have that in. I tried copying everything over to the new card, then tried formatting the card and copying everything over again and no luck. If I re-download one of those apps, it seems to keep my settings. I wouldn't mind re-downloading them all except that I can't even see the names of the apps on the home screen (just says loading) and I can't remember everything.

General :: Apps Stuck Loading - Email Works?
Sep 24, 2012I got a Kyocera Hydro for Boost. Anyway, the phone worked marvelously- until my power button got stuck. Mailed in to Kyocera, just got a replacement in the mail a few days ago.
Ever since, my apps will only work on WiFi. Occasionally, they will sort of function on my 3G connection, but even at full reception, I'm getting super slow loading with FB, Netflix 90% of the time will never load or go to a black screen, Pandora won't do anything, etc. I'm still able to check my email and do Google searches. Actually, now that I think of it, I've only tried to use my FB app on Wifi, I'm not actually sure the rest work on it. Will have to test later.
I have not a clue why suddenly I can't use my apps. I even checked my data usage, but if I'm reading it right, I haven't even used 1gb of data, and Boost kind of slows you down after I thing 2GB, if I recall.
ETA: I can't even get the stinking Play Store to load, and IF it does, when I try to select anything, THEN it won't load.

Aug 31, 2010My Droid Inc just got the 2.2 update last night. I use Advanced Task Killer quite a bit and one thing I immediately noticed is that a lot of programs keep launching themselves in the background. I never saw this happen with 2.1 other than sometimes when I would wake up in the morning, Gesture Search or CityID might be running. Now, I can go into Advanced Task Killer and kill everything and within 5 minutes I can go back in there and have between 10 and 15 apps running. They always seem to be mostly the same ones. Here are the ones that are currently running:
- Gesture Search
- Engadget (This one starts up within about 10 seconds after I kill it)*
- TiKL - Touch to Talk (Beta)*
- Layar*
- Amazon MP3 (this must be something that came with 2.2)
- Svox Classic
- Voice Dialer
- Internet (I use Dolphin)
- AppBrain App Market*
- The Weather Channel*
- Startup Cleaner 2.0*
- EasyTether*
- Handcent SMS*
I uninstalled all the apps on that list with an (*) next to them and then reinstalled them to see if that helped at all. It helped for some of them but I have the following apps still startup after I reboot my phone and let everything finish loading. The ones with an (*) below are ones that the Startup Cleaner 2.0 kills on startup.
- Startup Cleaner 2.0*
- Amazon MP3*
- TiKL - Touch to Talk (Beta)*
- Handcent SMS*
- Gesture Search
- Footprints
- Facebook*
- Google Search
Handcent loads back up in about 15 seconds after it is killed. TiKL loads back up in about 30 seconds. If I wait about 5 minutes after killing everything that is running, I get the following apps running:
- Gesture Search
- News
- Startup Cleaner 2.0
- Handcent SMS
- TiKL
These all load without me doing anything on my phone. None of this happened with 2.1. This is driving me nuts.
I know that some people in here are against Task Killers but I have all necessary programs on my Ignore list. I also disagree with some peoples thoughts that even though a task killer shows low memory, it doesn't mean you are low on memory. Anytime my phone starts running slow, I can guarantee that Advanced Task Killer will show less than 100MB of available memory. That's how it's been every time my phone has run slow.
Nexus :: N1 Automatically Tries To Download Apps
May 19, 2010I bought the Nexus One last sunday. I'm very pleased with how the phone works. On monday though, I started noticing notifications popping up from the Android Market. It said some applications failed to download. The only app I downloaded so far was Google Earth. Now every now and then it keeps feeding me with these notifications... I've installed an app killer to shut down the Android Market, but after a while it turns back on by itself.

When I press it it shows me what apps are running. I clear them all but within minutes of me not touching ny phone they all are running again 8 in total I believe. Dec 25, 2013I have a psychotic need to delete unused apps on my phone (voice dialer, face unlock etc.).
I frequently update to the latest nightlies when I am on a specific rom. However every time I do so the rom will reinstall system apps that I delete because they are useless. To delete system apps I have to use an app which is annoying.
Is there anyway to blacklist apps to automatically uninstall them when I update my nightlies?

Jan 4, 2013I download apps from play store, amazon appstore and other places..
When I restart my phone, Some apps (no matter where are they from (play, amazon, etc.)) They stop working.. they dont work anymore.. and I will have to re install the apps again and loss all data
And also some apps that still work, they start like its the first time I am starting them and all data in them are lost..
I tried multiple things to fix this like I factory reset my phone and also tried to flash new version of stock rom but I still have this problem.

May 18, 2010I use Taskiller to "kill" or end active programs that I'm not using, so as to reduce battery drain. I notice with 2.1 that every time I power up, lots of apps are launched automatically. This wasn't the case with 1.9. Anybody know if there's a way to prevent this?

Apr 6, 2010I constantly see the same apps opening throughout the day. I think I have narrowed it down to when I get a text message it opens up a few other things. I have installed Handcent and disabled the stock message app i think. I have closed all apps and recieved a text and here is what opens everytime. Voice Dialer, com.coremobility.app.vnotes, sprint navigation, and still the Messages app opens even though it comes through Handcent.

Nov 18, 2010I have been messing around with some ROMs on my Droid1, every time I flash a new rom it auto restores my apps. It hasn't done this at all until today. I have tried disabling it in my settings but it still doesn't stop. Also when I go into the downloads page in the market to cancel them, I can some of them but when I try to cancel the others if causes the market to force close. I would like to know if there is anyway to stop google from auto downloading them when I sign in? When I turned off the backup it said it would delete the info from googles servers, but it obviously has not lol because I have tried flashing the rom over again since then. I know most people would like this to happen, but I want a clean install.
