I'm trying to transfer a 5gb file onto my Eris. The SD card is mounted, and it shows that 7gb is free. I am able to copy over a 1gb file to and from, but when I try the 5gb file, I receive the following message:The disk in the destination drive is full. Insert a new disk to continue. Retry Cancel. If I click Retry, I get the following: Cannot copy (filename): there is not enough free disk space. What's the deal? Anyone know how to get this to work?
Just rooted my Evo w flipz Fresh 1.0.1. All is wonderful. I have an 8GB micro SD card at the moment, and this ROM comes configured to install apps to the card (vs. internal memory) using apps2sd. The card has been partitioned to have a 32MB swap, a 768MB ext2, and around 6GB for FAT32. So the card is now _very important_, as apps and prolly extensions from the OS are now on it. I'd like to backup to an _exact_ copy of the card. Is there a way using command shell or some other utility to clone/mirror? I would actually like to upgrade to a 16MB card, and keep everything just as it is on my 8MB card (i.e. copy same configuration and end up w 14GB of storage).
I picked up my Droid 2 this past Saturday, and immediately ordered a 16GB Transcend Class 6 micro SD card for it. To install it, I plugged my Droid into my PC (Linux machine), un-hid all the hidden files, copied them to my desktop, then disconnected the Droid, took the stock card out, plugged the new card in, and copied the files back. After a reboot of the Droid, everything seemed OK.The problems started while copying songs onto the Droid. The copy process froze, and ever since, the phone had problems with this card. It's sluggish, and hangs on shut-down.Is there a proper way to upgrade to a new card that I don't know about? The guys at the Verizon store didn't have any ideas.
I'm upgrading from my Droid 1 to the Droid X tomorrow and would like to start my use of the DX with it's new 32gb card in place of my old 16gb card from my Droid 1 but need to know if there's anything required to copy from my droid 1 16gb card to my new DX 32 gb card that would be required or helpful in the DX use.I will obviously transfer music/vids/pics but are there any essential files, apps, etc. that are needed.Or is it a good idea to use my paid MyBackupPro to copy the old Droid 1 apps/data for use in the DX larger memory card or is this not copatible to perform between the 2 devices?
I made this update this morning. This will replace the stock HTC Dialer with DialerOne (it will actually integrate it into the phone), a much better option for a dialer. You can make this dialer look like the Vanilla dialer as well. Credit to the creator of DialerOne. I took a bunch of pics with my camera and saved them. I can see them on my phone; I would like to copy them to my PC, but I cannot find them. I thought they would be in "my-pix", but I do not see them.
It appears that copy protected apps are now available for us Eris users who have the leaked versions. Just thought I'd let you know. So, if you went to a leaked version and miss those apps that suddenly disappeared from the Market, go check to see if they are there.
Does anyone have a clever method for inserting phone numbers into a text message? For example- I work in music, and people frequently call or text asking for the phone numbers of cellists and violinists I know so they can hire them for recording sessions. "Sure," I reply, "I'll text the numbers to you." Then, I have to look up the numbers in my People app, write them down on a piece of paper (or on a notepad on my computer), and then write the names and numbers into a text message. That works for home, but when I'm on the road it really screws the process. Can I start the text message and then import the names and numbers as text? I really want to be able to add more than contact to the text message (I'm not talking about recipients here, I mean sending a text that is a list of names and phone numbers).
I used the video camera on my Eris to record a video, but I can't seem to find the folder that the video is stored in when I connect it to my computer, so I cannot copy it to my computer. I used Astro to try to find it on the phone, but I can't seem to find it that way either.
The file is too large to send via email, and I cannot use bluetooth transfer. I would like to get the video off of my phone, and onto my computer. Any suggestions?
1. Is there any way to copy a picture from the Internet and save it to my Eris? 2. I tried watching a trailer on IMDB and it was way too slow and choppy. Is that how any video will be or is there way to improve watching videos from the Internet?
Firstly I'm on the 3 network and have noticed that there is a ROM upgrade, is it worth upgrading, if so will it wipe all my contacts from my phone as I can't see an option to copy them to the SIM card. Also how do I back up to the memory card. Also I got rid of the Planet 3 and Favourites button on my homescreen and now can't find them on the phone, is it worth resetting the phone to get these back or will the upgrade sort it out.
I am running Leedroid 2.2d A2SD+. I just bought a new 16Gb sd card, and want to use this instead of my 4Gb card. How do I go about copying all must stuff from the old card to the new? Considering my apps are now stored to the SD card, can I just copy all the contents of the old sd card to my pc, insert the new sd card, format it with ROM manager and copy all my stuff from my pc back to the new SD card? What about the Ext partition?
Everything works great other than the touchpad function. When I try to move the mouse it just doesn't move! When I use the trackball to move up and down my internet browser scrolls up and down the page and when I click it will click on links so that's all good. It's just the mouse won't move. I have a USB mouse attached to my PC and I have followed all of the FAQ's on the gMote website. It only seems to work in debug mode. Any answers to why that might be? Is there an application that will allow you to copy your texts to your SIM card?
Scenario: Phone: HTC Incredible still ten days from my hands. Microittybitty SD card: came in today's mail. Computer OS: Vista Music: On iTunes. Downloaded: doubleTwist My general media skills: Sucky.
Ok, here goes. So I have this fear that I won't be able to get all my lovely music from my computer to my Incredible. This is not an irrational fear, as I am notoriously bad with any kind of file management. And device management. And getting devices to talk nicely to each other.
(You may heckle me all you want. Yes, I am in over my head here. This will be an adventure.)
If I could figure out how to copy my music files to my SD card, could I then just put the card in the phone and have the stock music player recognize them and all that? Or would I end up down some dead-end street by myself in the middle of the night, drunk and dazed?
I want the music to go to the SD card anyway, whether I wait for the phone to get here or not. I'm just trying to skip a step. Will it work?
If I upgrade my SD card from say 8 to 16 gigs... can I merely copy over the directories from my old card to my new one so that my apps still work the same? Are there any hidden files or directories I need to worry about?
hey folks. I started out with a nice nippy class6 8GB card thinking speed was better than space and using Spotify for tunes I'd not have many mp3 locally. Now I need more space and want to switch to a 16GB card.My question: can I just copy everything off of my 8GB onto my new 16GB when it arrives? be great not having to download 5GB of Spotify cache all over again.
Has anyone managed to copy a file such as an Excel spreadsheet from googlemail to SD card ? You can preview in googlemail but to open you would need to use I think quickoffice which insists that any files it opens are on the SD card.
I am trying to create a folder and several subdirectory within it on the SD Card... I then want to transfer files that I have stored in /res/raw to that folder... I addition, I want this to only happen once, the first time the program is ever run. I realize that this is ridiculously open-ended, and that I am asking a lot...
