I recently got the 2.1 ota update and was excited about live wallpapers. Yet I cannot find out how to get them on my droid eris. Are live wallpapers even a feature for 2.1 ota? If so, how do I get them activated?

Where can I find them in the Eris? I've looked all over the place and just cannot seem to find them! I am running the recent leak that did not require the phone to be rooted if it matters.

View 19 Replies View RelatedI'm rooted on the newest 2.1 leak, and running helix launcher and i use the nexusmod live wallpaper. I'll make it my wallpaper, lock my phone, and when i unlock my phone my old wallpaper is back, with nexusmod not active. How can I fix this? It's driving me nuts!

-Live wallpapers
-Nexus launcher
-a better looking photo gallery viewer, im stuck at the stock crap one
-a better music player same reason as above
-and last is a better lock screen, i really liked the one that had the slient button and the lock on the same dial and it was just which way you spun it
Can anyone comment on how the live wallpapers work on the D2. I have the D1 and I don't use them because it makes the home screen laggy. Just wondering if the "faster" D2 has that same issue.

I have found that the wallpeprs don't "stick" when I turn the screen off and then turn it back on, it defaults back to the wallpaper I had set prior to changing it to the Live Wallpaper, or the screen just has a black background. At first I thought it maybe Live Wallpaper was conflicting with my Locale app, so I disabled it, but it's still doing it after.

Of course this requires root, and as such, please keep all discussion on how to get it running in the following thread: http://androidforums.com/all-things-root-droid/46759-release-live-wallpapers-2-0-1-a.html However, I'm posting this in the common area so that more people can see it. Also, I want to point out that these do run very smoothly, even at stock clock speeds. So, I don't know why Motorola wouldn't include this in our OTA update. It's certainly not for hardware reasons.
