I actually noticed this on V2 leak as well when I set up my favorites list, and then select that person for the first time, I'm prompted to set up a default action - that default is never saved, and I have to repeat those steps in order to dial a number - anyone have this problem? Is there a step I'm missing?

A friend of mine has the HTC Incredible and asked me, since I have the Eris and they are pretty similar, how to change the default action in Favorite people. When he set up his wife as a favorite, he accidentally chose to "send text" as the default action. He wants to change it to dial her cell number. I read the instructions for my Eris on how to do this.It tells me "To change the default communication method for a favorite contact, press and hold the contact, and then tap Change default action."When I do this, I do not get an option to change default action. Same for him.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am looking for a very good app on android mark that will allow me to view video podcast such as phonedog and Geekbrief, gadget pron and a few others that I religiously watched from my ipod touch on a nightly basis. Of course the touch had itunes which was great, the only thing it lacked was being able to save your favorites without downloading them. I know they have a few things out there on android market that seem to do this, looking for the easiest and the best.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI was one of the lucky few who accidentally received their HTC Incredible units early. To those eagerly waiting you will not be disappointed. This thing rocks. I've been to two Verizon stores and all of the employees were lusting after it.The Navigation is also "incredible" with the exception of not being able to save waypoints. With typical GPS stand-alone units, this is easily accomplished, but not with Android 2.1. Furthermore, coordinates cannot be put in, only addresses. Has anyone had any luck with some of the widgets available to perform these functions? For those of us who hunt or off-road, not every destination has a street address.

View 4 Replies View RelatedWith any of the homescreen replacement apps (Launcher 2.1, Home++, Sweeter Home Preview 2) my phone refuses to save which homescreen I want to be default for when I hit the "Home" button. This didn't use to be true. Something changed somewhere along the way, and now it'll save the "default action" for a little while and then it'll ask me to select again.
View 5 Replies View RelatedSo i was having issue with my favorites disappearing. It was a pain with my Favorite People widget.It has to do with your sync. To fix it, you have to go to the gmail website and add your favorites to the website. If you don't it will keep syncing your favorites with the site, thus the disappearing. I would think it should be a 2 way sync, but I guess not. Either that or this is a syncing bug

I was trying to figure out how to delete one of those contacts from my favorites and I sent the whole screen into the remove box and deleted it (I've since figured out how to remove a singe contact). How do I get that screen back?

When you got to People and then to Favorites and long press a contact, the only options are:
- Call Mobile
- Edit Contact
- Delete Contact
- Send contact as vCard
I don't see the "default action" inside the edit contact menu. Those were the steps providing in the ERIS forum and it seemed to work for ERIS users, however, I don't see any such option in the Incredible.
I just got the HTC EVO and I have the favorites widget. Well, it asked me to assign a default action to each person such as call, bring up contact info, or email. I accidentally assigned "email" to one of my favorites, and now whenever I press her, it wants to send her an email. How do I change what I set as her default action?
View 12 Replies View RelatedI am currently on my second Eris and I am having problems with my trackball not responding and something screwy with my camera not saving my pictures.
Right now I would rather pay to downgrade to another phone like a BB or even pay full retail value for a completely different Droid because I am afraid if they send me another Eris it is just going to break again.
If I call VZW and talk to them, will they send me another Eris that will most likely to break or will they send me a D1 or an Incredible?
I love my Eris but i just can't use it anymore and i feel like i will keep having problems if they keep sending me refurbs.
I have had the Eris for 3 days now and I mostly get the hang of it. I'm running 2.1 (newest build).
Last night I linked all the contacts in "people" with Facebook (for people that are on FB). When I press "phone" now it lists nearly all my facebook friends. I did not add them. How did this happen? Oddly it did not do all of them. It stopped half way through the Ts. As much as I like all my "friends" there are least 200 of them I do not want listed on my "phone" list. How can I remove them from the phone list? There does not appear to be any way to delete them. When I do the "people" program they are not listed there. Is there anyway to remove these friends from the phone list and if I do will the phone try to put them back there?
Is there any way to have multiple phone numbers for the same person in favorites? I want to have my wife with her cell number and her work number there. It appears that I can only have her once in favorites with one number. It would also work if I could select which number when I pressed her button. It does not look like this is possible. Any ideas?
Whenever I sync my Google Contacts, I lose my Favorites on my phone. How can I fix this?
View 3 Replies View RelatedAfter I've received a phone call you can choose to add that number to contacts.All seems to work fine and it shows up for a short time on my phone and it appears to have stuck no problem.After a few minutes through the name has dropped off and it does not show up in either my contacts on the phone or to the contacts in my Google listing online.Am I missing something please? I always choose to save to Google, not SIM or Phone. I assume that's right?
View 12 Replies View RelatedLots of my contacts - especially my "favorite" contacts - have multiple phone #'s, which is pretty typical. So it's a nice feature in the dialer that lets you select a specific number - home, office, mobile, etc., to dial every time you pull up the favorites tab within the dialer screen. I by mistake checked "use as default number" for one particular contact, but now I want to deactivate that selection and have no default number for that particular contact.
I know how to switch the default number from one to another; is there a way to deactivate the default number and just have the phone ask me which number to dial, e.g. home, office, mobile, etc.? I've been trying to tinker with everything I can to no avail, and I've also been shut out trying to answer this question online. Only thing I haven't done is call Verizon.
I received my 2.1 OTA Download last night and all has worked well, the only problem I have found thus far is saving pictures from Handcent SMS to my SD card. It won't let me copy them over for some reason.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI found that really saved my battery life was either during off 3G or installing Juicedefender, which helped, but it was still draining a ton.
What I did was I checked when facebook updated my contacts to once a day instead of the default. Which I believe the default setting was Every hour, because honestly I don't need it to check every hour for a profile picture change or a few things that I normally check on my own with the facebook app.
The way you do that is
Menu->Settings->Accounts and Sync->Facebook for HTC Sense->Account Settings->Change it to Once a day.
Also I recently found out that you can use your gmail account to have it check a work e-mail or another e-mail, by using pop e-mail, so I didn't have to leave my phone set to check my work e-mail every 15 minutes and drain battery life that way, and that works really well too so your just using your gmail account for e-mail, plus your gmail account pushes to your phone every time a new e-mail comes, which it can do for a work e-mail or your gmail e-mail.
The way you set that up is,
Login to your gmail->Settings->Accounts and Imports->Under Check mail using POP3->Click add POP3 account->Then start adding your work e-mail in there
You can also select Send mail as and add your work e-mail in there, so you can just use your gmail account to send e-mail, I would prefer to use IMAP, but since I am usually in front of a computer, cleaning up my e-mail isn't too much of a job to do.
But this is a great way to use less data and to save a TON on your battery, by the time I was done with work today, I was at 80% battery, when I am normally around 40% to 50%, and after a few short phone calls and showing my mom about 100+ phones from the 3D photo gallery I am still at around 60% on my battery.
I can not figure out how to save a video to my phone that someone has texted me.

How do I do this? I tried typing in the first address and using a comma or a semicolon as the delimiter/separator before entering the second. I get an error saying that the address is not recognized.

Some are of the whole webpage, and sometimes there might be a couple more of the same webpage but zoomed in closer and closer. It's so weird. When I look in my photo albums on the phone, it doesn't show these images. Every time I am finished uploading pics I have to go through and delete a ton of them cause they're random images.How do I stop my phone from saving images like this?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI recently switched gmail accounts. I was able to reconfigure the stock mail app fine. The gmail app took some persuasion but eventually cooperated. The only problem is now all my contacts that were saved in my old gmail acct need to be transferred to my new one. Not a big deal (only have 10 because I lost my phone, reason why I have an Eris). However, my brother called. Since I lost him from my contacts, I used the recent calls window to add him. Hit Save. If I go to People, he isnt there. Retried it 3 times. I figure I can just re add him through gmail on my PC and sync it, but that's inconvenient and I wanna know: why isn't this working?

View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen I receive an email a number in a green bubble with the number of emails appears on the email icon. The problem is when I check the email or delete the emails the number on the icon does not go away. The number just resets after I get in new emails.
