HTC Droid Eris :: Camera Screen Dims In The Horizontal Position

Jun 25, 2010

After the OTA and a factory reset my screen dims when I tilt the the phone in camera mode. It's fine when the phone is vertical but when I go to take a horizontal landscape shot it dims the screen to black. It will do the dimming proportionally to the angle the phone is rotated off the vertical axis and front to back (freaky) It will still take the shot but I have no idea how centered I am on the shot. I changed auto dimming to "off " but it still blanks it.

HTC EVO 4G :: Screen Rotation - Delay When Switch From Horizontal Position To Vertical Position

Sep 29, 2010

On my htc i was looking through display, i see g sensor calibration and i perform this calibration and after i do so the screen seems to have a delay when switch from the horizontal position to the vertical position. its weird because when i switch to the phone horizontally it switch normally and responds fast. but when i switch back to vertically it takes almost 7 seconds to actually switch back, sometimes it switch within 2 or 3 secs but never as quick as switching horizontally.

If you're already updated, shut down and repower (soft reboot) should do the trick. I actually updated my phone and after it started to do this. I restarted the phone plenty of times i even took the battery out for 30 seconds. It only does it when im texting on the browser, basically everything but the camera. He camera screen rotation is perfect. I even rooted the phone but i havent figured out how to use the root to fix the problem. Should i do a firmware update? Because i just did the htc software update.

HTC Hero :: Touchscreen - Screen Takes Right Horizontal Position Of My Finger - Not The Vertical

Feb 8, 2010

I have got one big problem with the touch input of my Hero. The screen is too sensitive. I can navigate on the screen while my finger is about 5 cm away from it. I can choose what I want, but the screen takes the right horizontal position of my finger, but not the vertical. Anything I want to take, the screen takes the one on the bottom of the screen. The same when I want to write a message or something like this. I choose the "W" or "E", but the screen takes the "X" or "C". If the display goes on Standby and I wake it again, everything is good for a few seconds, but than the same mistake comes again. I already tried to wipe and install a new MCR, but nothing helps. I think, but I am not sure, that I have that problem after I have installed the htc keyboard on android 2.1, as I tried it for a few hours.

General :: Camera Gallery Dims Images After View On Droid RAZR MAXX

Mar 16, 2014

I have a droid raxr maxx with android 4.1.2

Recently I did a bunch of updates and started using google now. My phone performance has been significantly degraded as a result.

My most pressing issue is that after taking a photo, when I go to view it, it shows as normal brightness for 1 second and then gets very dark. This happens for every image as I scroll through them individually. It appears that I now have some sort of editing option or maybe google photos or picassa has hijacked my viewer. When I click on the gallery app this dimming issue does no occur. I am unable to view photos from the camera after taking them.

Motorola Droid :: Minimize Brightness Button That Dims Screen Further?

Jun 3, 2010

So I'm using NexBeast v1.1 on my Droid and noticed in the clock app there is a brightness button that dims the screen even further (similar to the bedside app I'm guessing). Unfortunately the screen dimness only lasts while in that app. I was wondering: is there a way to set the overall phone brightness itself that low or keep the screen that dim outside of the app? The lowest brightness in the Droid settings is still a bit too bright for me.

Motorola Droid :: Light Sensor Or Timer Dims Screen Up And Down During Video Playback

Nov 7, 2009

I am not sure which is the culprit, but while playing back video or even at random times, the screen shifts lighter or darker seemingly at random, and one time during a video playback on the TV.com app, it went black altogether. I am not sure whether it is the timer or the ambient light sensor, but I am tempted to turn the sensor off and push the timer back a lot.

General :: Screen Dims But Won't Turn Off

Nov 6, 2012

I'm running CM7.2 nightlies on an LG P999 (Canadian version of the G2x). Over the past few weeks, I've had issues where the screen will dim as it approaches the display timeout, but never turn off completely. This is intermittent, and I have yet to notice a consistent pattern. I've been searching to try to find a cause but with no luck so far. I am familiar with using BetterBatteryStats and thelike to track down issues with wakelocks and not going to sleep, but i don't know what to use/look for in this instance (ie how to identify apps that might block the screen from shutting down).

HTC Incredible :: Screen Brightens And Dims Intermittently

Aug 8, 2010

Loving the phone, the auto-dim works great when I pull the phone closer or away from my face. My issue is when I'm playing a ROM on my phone for an extended period of time (maybe 15 minutes), I notice that the screen either gets brighter for a few moments, or will get dimmer. The seems to happen without any warning or prompting maybe it occurs because I accidentally hit the home button, then return to the ROM and once the phone knows I'm just playing the ROM it dims to conserve battery? And when I say dim, I mean ever-so-slightly. It doesn't turn black or anything.

HTC Incredible :: Screen Dims But No Turn Off Mode

Sep 1, 2010

Also the softkey buttons stay lit up above the trackpad. Running Frankenrom right now but also had it on the new deodexed leak. Reboot cures it for quite awhile, but it seems to return eventually. I think it's possible it might be due to creating a custom profile in SetCPU for "Screen Off" mode. Just wanted to verify if anybody has pinned it down yet. Happens both when charging and during normal use.

HTC Incredible :: Screen Brightens And Dims While Typing?

May 29, 2010

I have noticed this issue a handful of times and thought I would assk here ot see what others have seen.

At times - while I am typing on the keyboard in some app (email, web or other) the screen will noticeably dim a bit for a few seconds and then will brighten back to what it was before. It may do it again before I am done typing.

This does not happen every single time I type on it, but probably at least once a day. any ideas on what is going on? Has anyone else seen this?

Rect hitRect = new Rect();

I'm using a Nexus One and the Camera displays horizontal when it should be vertical and vice versa. I've no idea what's wrong. The code works fine on a HTC tattoo.

HTC EVO 4G :: Horizontal Scratch Running Across Back Camera Lens

Took my EVO out of my pocket when I landed this morning and noticed that I have a horizontal scratch running across the back camera lens. Not even sure where it came from or when it happened. Seems like it'd be way to easy to do though considering the phone rests on the camera lens when you place it on a flat surface. I know this happens to all new toys - but I didn't even make it a week.

Ok what I want is for whenever I move from one place or another ...maybe driving 30 mins or an hour the weather automatically updates to that location without me having to manually refresh.what do I need to turn on for that in the location services

"Use Wireless Networks/Mobile Networks" Location determined by wifi and or mobile networks
"Location Settings" Allow network to detect your position
"Enable GPS Satellite" requires more battery

These are the three options I can check...the first one is checked right now.if I check the second one will it update the weather automatically or is the first one all that is required and it says the battery will be drained in the third option but what about the 2nd option.

HTC Droid Eris :: Eris To Incredible - Trackball Not Responding - Camera Not Saving Pictures

Oct 6, 2010

I am currently on my second Eris and I am having problems with my trackball not responding and something screwy with my camera not saving my pictures.

Right now I would rather pay to downgrade to another phone like a BB or even pay full retail value for a completely different Droid because I am afraid if they send me another Eris it is just going to break again.

If I call VZW and talk to them, will they send me another Eris that will most likely to break or will they send me a D1 or an Incredible?

I love my Eris but i just can't use it anymore and i feel like i will keep having problems if they keep sending me refurbs.
