HTC Desire :: On Tmobile Wont Connect To Mobile Internet
Got the phone on Monday and have just been getting my head around it but mainly at home and on wifi out and about today and realised it just will not use mobile broadband this is despite it being set (I think) to use mobile internet when no wifi. I tried to search and it seems lots of people have some sort of problem like this. when I'm in wireless settings and networks and push the connect to mobile network button, I just get a 'connection failed due to incorrect APN setting message' though having looked at it it looks right general.t-mobile.uk. nothing I do seems to change this (switching wifi off, walking out of range, leaving it on)
one thing I have also noticed though is I have never seen any g,h, e etc by the signal strenth indicator (which is normally only 1 or 2 bars - i.e. poor). so I assume it's just not finding 3g etc signal, despite the t-mobile website mobile broadband checker saying its been good strength in all the places Ive been today! I've also tried repeated power off and on again and airplane mode, then switching this off. this is really winding me up now as its a great phone but not if you cant use it's mobile internet functions when out and about.

HTC Hero :: Cannot Connect To Mobile Internet?
A friend of mine has just bought one, and cannot connect to the internet using his SIM card at all. He can receive calls fine but for some reason the mobile internet does not work even though his SIM is enabled for it. His phone does not have Market, but SlideMe, which suggests it is a Malaysian Hero (I think)? I don't know if this is the reason. I tried my SIM card in his Hero and, again, it will not connect to mobile internet. I checked the settings and under Mobile Network Settings/Access Point Names there is nothing and none of the fields are completed (I never had to set this up on my Hero, it was automatically completed by my SIM Card/Provider once switched on).

HTC Desire :: T Mobile Faster Internet Speed Settings / What Is Your Internet Speeds?
Right basically you can find the UK T mobile internet settings on the T mobile website. On the Speed Test app, the highest speeds I get are 1.8m/bs downloads and around 500kpbs upload. However, those were at off peak times at night etc (probably when nobody is using the net).Generally I get anything from 0.3 m/bs to 0.9 m/bs though. Lately I've been experiencing some inconsistent internet speeds and reconnection attempts so for I've gone back to the default settings. Tbh though I'm not sure if it makes much difference.

HTC Desire :: Connect To Internet Through PC?
I'm new to my HTC Desire and Android in general, so please bear with me. At home, I have no Wi-Fi but my PC is connected to the web via ADSL. Is there a way to allow my HTC Desire to connect to the internet via USB using the connection my PC has to the internet (i.e. using it as a gateway)? I know that you can use the phone to allow the PC to connect to the web - but is the opposite possible as well?

HTC Desire :: Mobile Network Vs Wi-Fi Internet
I' ve been using a lot my Desire these days and absolutely love it.I surf the Internet a lot and just wanted to make sure if I get it all right: 1. If I only use the Mobile Network Internet on my phone that means I am using the Internet my provider (Orange in this case) gives me per month. I have 1GB limited Interned each month and therefore surfing the web through the Mobile Network option means I am draining from that 1GB limit. 2. If I only use the Wi-Fi Internet (when Mobile Network is OFF) on the phone that means I connect to (in this case) my home Internet router and use it to access Internet and therefore do not drain any of the 1GB limit I have per month. Is that right? I use Internet a lot and don't want to end up paying huge bills to Orange. And last question- what happens if both options (Mobile Network and Wi-Fi) are turned ON? What Internet will I be using- Orange's or the one from my home Internet router?

HTC Desire : No Mobile Internet At All On Orange?
Purchased my Desire 2 days ago and it has been working fine on wi-fi and mobile internet. Today though I can't get any mobile internet - intermittently telling me 'Orange internet disabled'. Doesn't matter where I go and other half's Sony Ericsson is still getting a good connection with Orange. Mobile network is enabled in settings, no difference whether network is WCDMA/GSM/auto. What's going on??!? Can someone advise please. PROBLEM SOLVED - somehow the APN had been changed to Orange Internet Disabled so restoring default setting seemed to sort it. No idea why it set itself to 'disabled' though. Can't reproduce it myself anyway!

I'm having trouble connecting to mobile web with my Tesco SIM. I have a tick next to 'Mobile network' in Settings, and the Network Operator is set to 02, which is auto. I'm sure it worked the other day when I fiddled, but I might have switched something off by mistake. When I try to launch the Internet app, I get an error that asks me to sort my mobile web settings, which takes me back to the Settings I have mentioned above.

HTC Desire :: Mobile Internet On Orange Network
Excuse me if this is due to my poor understanding of mobile internet. When in my office at work the signal bars on my phone will be either 2 or 3 out of 4. The 3G icon is also present. When, For example, I try to go onto the Market the connection seems very poor. The 3G icon will get the arrows showing that 3G data is being transferred and sometimes it will drop down to a H icon.I then get the message "A network error has occurred, retry, or cancel and return to the previous screen".This happens with all other apps, internet etc as well.I bought the phone with a orange PAYG from Carphone warehouse and put my Orange Monthly pay sim in.When I am outside or even in a different area of the office the internet works fine.If my phone was showing 1 bar and no 3G icon I would accept that it is just too bad signal in the office but as I have nearly full signal and the 3G icon is there another problem?

HTC Desire :: Internet Tethering / Orange Mobile
I have a Compaq laptop running windows 7 and a Desire that I want to tether (via USB).HTC sync (latest version) is installed, and I have checked with Orange who tell me my package allows this, but they don't support Android phones.I have set the phone to Internet Sharing and its all enabled. The internet works fine on the phone. The laptop recognises the phone and gives it network adaptor status, but not a lot else. I've tried to set it as a home, work or public network, but it never gets internet access. I've switched off my firewall (Dit Defender) which made no difference. The troubleshooter eventually states "The DNS server is not responding".I can't find anything on the forums, so any tips or things I'm missing?

HTC Desire :: Mobile Internet / Data Connection On Launcher Pro
Currently using launcherpro as default but having a little problem with my data connection. Do you guys leave mobile internet on then use a data connection toggle like on switch pro to enable disable as and when you like? Or do you use a toggle like curvefish apn to rename and automatically connect to the network? Or do you turn it on and off via settings or the power button as and when you need it? Bit lost on the subject to be honest. Also when I go and turn mobile internet on in the settings under it it says something like connect to mobile internet when WiFi is unavailable. Is this the default setting or can it be changed to only connect when I want it to?

In settings - wirless & network - moblie network is "grayed" out. I called verizon tech and they said it might be because I received the phone before the release date and I should wait until April 29th or 30th and it should be working. Anyone else having this problem? It's not like I live in a rural area, I'm in the LA - Orange County area.
