HTC : Desire Does Not Sync With Google Account
I am having problem synchronizing my Desire with Google Account. Either it is stuck at sync stage or says sync server is not available. I do not know if this ia problem with my phone or my google account. I use chrome and is logged into Google acount all the time. My Chrome crashed a couple of months back and I think the problem started then.

I have searched around on this and other forums, looking for the answer to a question that has been bugging me since before the weekend.I got the HTC desire on friday (love the phone!) and have got to the point where most of the things are set up how I want. I have used HTC sync to import my contacts from Outlook where they were already set up how I wanted. However I can't seem to be able to import these contacts back up to my Google account though. I have turned on all the sync settings and checked these, but nothing seems to work.I tried creating a dummy contact in my google account and prompted a sync from my phone which pulled this down ok. So this would indicate that the sync seems to work one way, but wont pull my contacts back up the other.I don't really want to re-enter all my contacts into my Google account to get the sync working properly plus I am assuming this will create a duplicate of every contact already on my phone.

HTC EVO 4G :: Can't Sync To Google Account?
A friend picked up the EVO on launch day, from Radio Shack where they just handed it to her and offered no kind of walkthrough. I've been trying to hep her get used to the phone, and to Android (I've got an Incredible). There's one big problem, and I've searched the forums and can't seem to find an answer. When she tries to add her Google account (****@gmail.com) in Accounts & Sync, it accepts her account name and password, and says the login was successful. When she hits the "Next" button, it brings her back to the Add a Google Account screen, where the options are to "Create" and "Sign In". Repeated the process multiple times with the same results. Is it just a matter of continuing to sign in until it works? Would a factory reset help?

Samsung Fascinate :: Can't Get Phone To Sync With Google Account
I did all the steps I could, but I still can't get the phone to sync with my sister's Google account. It locked up and perma-black screened after rooting and installing launcher pro, so I tried to use the backup from Odin to save it. Saved the phone. Seems to work. The verizon backup option successfully restores her contact info.I can't get it to sync with her google account, and I am LOSING MY MIND because I have to leave early tomorrow morning, and I don't want to leave my sis. with a broken phone.And where in the heck do you get the oft-mentioned "update.zip" file from?

Motorola Milestone :: Unable To Sync With Google Account
I finally installing 2.1 with all English menus.that worked in china.However I cant get my contacts and calendar to sync with google.The mail client works fine with no hitches.But I cant add the google account.when I enter in the full server name: https://mail.google.com the next button is grayed out.the only way it will let me proceed is if I remove the https:// and then it try to connect.but it then says :" unable to open connection to server"Any help for what is more than likely an extraordinarily simple problem?

Android : Can't Buy Google Apps - Back To Account Sync Page?
I'm trying to purchase an app, but everytime I enter in my Google Apps premier account info, it just takes me back to the Account Sync page. The app never gets purchased. Is there a way I can fix this issue? I have purchased numerous things using my Google Apps account and all the information is current. I did a number of searches regarding this issue, but either the question goes unanswered or the response is "just create another Google account to buy the app". I would rather not have to create another account just for this. If anyone knows how to correct this, please let me know.

Samsung Epic 4G :: Sync Contacts And Calendar With Extra Google Account
I have a Droid, and my friend just got a Samsung Epic, so I am trying to show him things.He has a google account (not a gmail account, not a google apps - a Google account with his own email address). He wants to sync his contacts and calendar.On my Droid, I go to accounts & sync > add account > Google > enter my address and password.i get offered to sync Calendar and/or Contacts, by clicking on the check box.On his Epic, he adds the account, but there are no options, no check boxes! Is this different somehow? It works fine with his gmail, but not his generic Google account. On my Droid it all works fine and everything is in sync.

HTC Desire :: Phone Loses Sync With Exchange Account
I have configured this to push and its working fine in terms of sending and receiving emails. The main problem I have is that it loses sync with the exchange account. If I delete from the device it sometimes does not remove them from my outlook and viceversa. Has anyone else got this phone connected to an exchange 2003 server SP2 ? Also has anyone managed to get any other folders to sync other than the inbox ?

I want to sync my phone contacts with the gmail account. I read several threads from this forum and tried to change from phone contacts to google contacts instead. However, nothing happen when I manually sync. The icon rotating indicated that sync was in process. Afterward, I checked on my gmail's contacts, nothing change. No contact has phone number. I even tried to create some dummy contacts but not work either.

HTC Desire :: Starting To Use Google Account?
I decided tonight that i was going to try and start using my google account on my desktop synced with my phone. So...i had all of my contacts saved too the phone rather than too my google account (choosed the option to save to phone when adding a new contact initially because i was unsure how google worked) I couldnt for the life of me see how to switch this contact over to my google account from the phone so i had to save all contacts too sim individually then had to "import from sim card" and created the new contacts under my google account. This left me with the contacts on my phone saved too google contacts and when going on a contact now in the top right hand corner it says linked and there is 2 circles with a green link between them. Previously it just said phone and had no green link These contacts however are not showing up in google when i sign in on my desktop. Also, on my phone, when i go to menu > view (when in the people application) if i uncheck all boxes and check google (51) no contacts show up. However if i check also the sub heading saying "Show auto Gmail contacts" then they show up :S Ive just added a new contact and clicked the option save contact too google when i initially created it. This contact does not say linked but just says google at the top and is also the only contact showing up when i just check the google box and not the sub box. Im also using jorte calender which i thought was compatible but nothing from that seems to have gone onto my desktop calendar when signed in to google?

when i first got my HTC Desire i set it up with my google account which i use for everything, gmail,calendar etc. everything worked fine until i went to the market place, i couldn't download anything, it just kept saying download failed please try again this really annoyed me so i did factory reset twice but still the same problem. so the i reset again and in setup this time i choose to make a new google account instead of using my current one, and when it was all done, yup you guessed it, the market place worked! anyone any ideas why this is like this and why i couldnt use my original account?

HTC Desire :: Remove Google Account Without Resetting Phone
I have created a new google account that i would like to replace the original one.I have synced the new account but cant seem to remove the original. I get the following message, This account is required by some applications. You can only remove it by resetting the phone to factory defaults. You do that in settings, under privacy. Is there anyway to do it without resetting the phone? I dont want to reset it as i the phone is rooted, has custom ROM with over 100 apps.

Switched from crgrob83@googlemail.com to crgrob83@gmail.com and now I keep getting errors on Desire about not being able to log into Google Talk and I also cant download anything from the market! I also synced my new account in gmail, but cant delete the original account without master resetting the phone and I ain't prepared to lose all my personal settings and info.

HTC Desire : Phone Quit Syncing With My Google Account
My desire suddenly decided to quit syncing with my google account. Also the market is not downloading update anymore. I do have internet connectivity either on 3G or wifi. I can browse, use weather, Ross and news etc. just when I go in menu-settings-sync and press sync ... nothing happens I already rebooted a couple of times nothing works? any suggestions?

I've got my desire today and am already frustrated because there's so many things needing to be sorted on it! I've started from scratch with the 7 welcome screens and need to build those up (any tips much appreciated 4 example how to get the wi-fi switch etc etc back) As for syncing my contacts Facebook has mucked everything up. Any chance i can stop info being taken from facebook and just importing them myself? Also i set up a google account but had to delete it immediately (on my pc due to the email address being entered wrong) Now I've set up a new one how the hell do i change it on the phone.My phone still thinks I'm using the one I've deleted.

HTC Incredible :: Incredible To Sync Google Apps / Gmail Account?
I have my original gmail account "slaved" to my google apps account, so when I log in to user@gmail.com it displays my google apps user@domain.com as being logged in. For most things this is great, but now with the android phone there are some gotchya's First was the Market. I had to create yet another gmail account to buy anything off the market, because when I sign in to my 'gmail' account on my phone it signs me in as an apps user. Second, is my google voice (attached to gmail) has its own set of contacts associated with my gmail account, and they are not synced with my google apps account. I was hoping the phone would sort of mesh them together, however I'm not seeing that. On my iPhone I was using soocial, however they recently stopped allowing unlimited contacts and their new free limit is below my number of contacts. Is there a way for the phone to keep these to contact lists "connected" and synced together?

Motorola Droid : Leave Call And Contacts Setup On Regular - Sync Account But Change E-mail Account To Personal Acct
I have 2 gmail accounts. Unfortunately, one of them is for my calendar and contacts and the other is for my personal e-mail. As of now, my cal and contacts are syncing fine but I do not use the e-mail account that is associated with thier username. I have my other account (personal e-mail) set up sepeartely....along with a few other e-mail accounts(work and etc.). I would like to know if i can leave my cal and contacts setup on the regular droid sync account but change the e-mail account to my personal acct. so it will "push" by default with out having it in a seperate palce on the droid. I know this is confusing but i dont know how else to explian it.

HTC Desire :: Calendar Won't Sync To Google
HTC O2 Desire with 2.2 upgrade.All seems to be ok except for a Calendar problem.I tried to use HTC Synch, want to move apps to sd card, and managed to add extra anniversaries to my calendars i.e Outlook, Google and Desire.Outlook and Google had duplicate anniversaries and Desire has triplicate.Before I reconnect my Desire to my pc via HTC sync I need to resolve the triplication problem i.e. get my Desire to sync with Google calendar via my gmail acccount.I edited the online Google calendar and left that to synch with desktop Outlook via its normal sych routine. Outlook did ask one question; should it delete 169 items. I answered yes and Outlook updated. During this time I switched off synch on my Desire.I then tried to sych Desire to Google via my home wifi but without success. It seems that Desire synch will not stay up. The synch symbol shows for a few seconds then goes either using manual or autosynch; wifi is there all the time and I have a connection to my ISP i.e I can surf all I want using the wifi router connected to my desktop. Desire wifi signal shown as full strength. I notice that if I manually synch my Desire the sync symbol against "Sync Calendar" stays on for some 15 seconds (but is not rotating after the symbol disappears from the top of the screen) whereas for Gmail and contacts the symbols quickly go out suggesting that more activity is taking place in calendar? Also the sync symbol at the top of the screen matches for contacts and Gmail but goes out after a few seconds for Calendar i.e does not stay on for 15 seconds.

I was checking what was eating my battery the most earlier and noticed that calendar was the biggest drain based on partial wake usage.Can I set the interval that the calendar updates?I would like it to be automatic...just a.little less often.Is it possible that the gmail app also controls frequency for the cal? Something that popped into my head just now.

My first posting as I am new to Android and the Desire. Must say everything great so far and synchronised with my PC Outlook 2002 first go. Pity it won't do notes as my Apple Ipod touch did.I now use my Desire as the master diary entry and control as set up in the options. As my Outlook 2002 is now aged I thought I might transfer to Google calendars where I have an account. But when I open the Tools in Synchronisation I only have the Outlook option.Can anyone advise how I sync with Google Calendars as then in effect I am using the Desire as the transfer medium from Outlook to Google without the hazards of import/export

I have now deleted all my phone contacts and am managing everything in google.So when I click on people, only one contact comes up.myself. Yet for some reason this does not link with google,so it's not syncing my picture or details.Anybody know how I can do this? You cannot delete the main contact.though I can add myself as a new phone contact(but then I would have two.)

I have read the search results, but just a simple question.When you sync items, phone/pda/pc etc, you get the oppertunity to choose which item takes priority if say mobile phone number has been changed in two devices.How does this work between google and my phone.I don't want to spend ages today getting my contacts just right on google via my pc to find they all go wonky when it syncs later on.

HTC Desire : Sync With Google Calendar - YOU HAVE NO CALENDARS
Syncing with google calendar. I have a Macbook with iCal configured to match my Google calendar account. The two sync together with no problem. I tried setting up my HTC Desire to sync with my Google account which should give me three way sync but I get the following problem: I open Calendar on my phone, I try to add an event, a message appears saying: YOU HAVE NO CALENDARS. Ont the settings side, if I hit MENU then MORE and I choose CALENDARS I can't see my Google account. If I hit SETTINGS there is nothing to add my Google account. If I go to the ACCOUNTS & SYNC settings, I see my Google account, but when I hit my account, the data synchronization theme only shows SYNC CONTACTS and SYNC GMAIL, there is no SYNC GOOLGLE CALENDAR (is this normal). I had Syncmate installed on my macbook and had it configured on my Desire, but it didn't sync the calendar either so I deleted it from my accounts. Could this be causing my problem or does anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

I have now seen a related problem on two third party apps neither seem to be able to "see" contact information stored as "phone" contacts.My set-up: T-Mobile HTC Desire, using HTC Sync to sync contacts and calendar with Outlook on the desktop. Due to the limited functionality of the Google online offerings, I prefer to sync to Outlook.The handset shows all my contacts as "phone" contacts and all works well. Is anyone able to test this for me and if using either of the above apps, create a "phone" contact and see if you can set a direct dial or text using BetterCut, or if the email address appears as a look up in K-9 Mail?

I use Google hosted apps with my own domain for e-mail, calendar, chat, etc. and I use the e-mail address from that with my main Google account as well. So, both my Google account and hosted apps account use the same address. I had no problem setting up my account on my phone when I got it Friday, but I've been running into a few issues. First off, every time I try to buy an app in the Market, it asks me to set up a Google account to associate it with, even though I already have. Also, when I try to use Google Listen, it asks the same thing. Is there a way around this, or will I have to create a separate Google/GMail account?

Can someone help me to track whats starting my Auto Sync. I get the "Sync Icon" all the time. I have to go into Account and Syncs and select "Cancel Sync" to remove the icon. Android :: Sync To Gmail Account Without Contacts
I am new to Android. In fact, I am still waiting for my new android device (Samsung Galaxy S),I should receive it within a few days. I would like to do the following: I want to use my gmail account from my phone and have all emails sync on my device. But I do not want to sync my gmail contacts with my "local" contacts (local being the contacts stored on my phone). I only want to sync my emails. I read on another web site that one guy managed to sync his Outlook contacts with his Android phone contacts, but once he started to configure his gmail account, all his local contacts were automatically saved in his gmail account, and vice versa. Is there a way to use gmail with only emails sync, and without contacts sync? I prefer to be sure that it is possible (and know how to do it) before starting to use gmail on the phone. My Outlook contacts contain lots of professional contacts that I do not want to see in my private gmail account.

Been reading hotmail is now available to be setup as an exchange account. I've been readying have successfully been able to setup their droid phones this way but heard EVO users were having difficulties.
