I wonder if I am doing something stooped here with my new HTC Desire The phone is successfully connected via Bluetooth to the Parrt car kit. What I used to do with my Nokias was click the green button on the car kit, say the name of the person I want to call and then the phone would call that person. That doesn't seem to work with the Desire. Nothing happens when I click the green button on the car kit. Any clues as to how to make this happen on the car kit.
I experience poor sound quality after my pairing my htc desire phone via bluetooth with my parrot ck3100 handsfree device. The handsfree set is connected to my car stereo, and I need almost to turn up to full volume to be able to listen to the person on the side of the line. This problem doesnt occur with other cell phones i've tried, like nokia and samsung. I actually hear the person absolutely clearly with other cell phones. So this has to be some compatibility issue with my htc desire, or there might be some setting which can resolve this problem?
I've just received android 2.2 on the desire and like many wanted to use the new voice dialing!!! The only widget I can find is "voice search" but this seems to not be dialing specific and may choose to search the web for you etc. My question: Is there a dialing specific voice command widget, if not how do I do it properly?
I have a parrot bluetooth kit which usually prompts a phone to ask for a voice command. The desire although linked, doesn't seem to respond.
Does anyone know how to perform a call with voice dialing?. Holding down the magnifying glass button give two possibilities: do a research in Google or open Handcent app in order to send a SMS but nothing says about to make a call.
I received my HTC last week and I am very pleased with the phone. However I am experiencing one issue with my carkit, the parrot ck3200 LS Color.
It doesn't seem to sync my contacts. Everytime after a couple of contacts it says "Synchronization failed". At first I thought it was because I have some pictures associated with my contacts, so I deleted every picture from every contact, but no luck. The sync still fails at contacts that are in my Facebook friend list. I tried to find some settings where I can turn off the picture sych, but couldn't find it. Then I realized I don't even want the facebook friends to be synced with the phone, but I couldn't find any setting in the carkit or phone to turn that of.
Does anybody have an idea in solving the issue so that my carkit and phone will sync whitout issues?
I recently purchased a Blueant S4 bluetooth speakerphone, Im trying to use the voice dailing feature with the new 2.2 froyo release and it sucks.....really. Even not using the blueant speakerphone and just using the phone trying to speak commands directly at it in a quiet room, it dosent even work. Example I tried to call my mother today when prompted I said "Call Mom" the phone decoded that as "Call Aubrey" lol which is a imporvement from the "nothing found" errors ive been getting....is there another app to replace the stock voice dialing application that works better?
The Voice Dialing program in the phone is a total joke.. You have to have the phone in your hand, activate the voice dialing, speak your request, then manually confirm your request on the phone its self.. I thought the whole purpose of the voice dialing feature was for hands free capabilities.. The way this program currently works renders it utterly useless. I have a Cardo Q2 setup for my motorcycle helmet.. which has a bluetooth phone link setup in it.. Its basically a bluetooth headset thats integrated into the helmet. Everything works fine with the G1 phone except the voice dialing. Does anyone know of a Voice Dialing app that basically revamps the factory program so that you can use voice dialing w/ your headset? I searched and searched but couldn't find any real answer to this question.
After watching many news clips about the new iPhone I figured out my inability to disconnect a call was caused by the way I was holding the phone and that is what the proximity sensor is all about. Rather poed that neither Verizon or Motorola knew what I was talking about. According to TV News this is a problem with almost every new smart phone. I now have an interconnected problem. I am having trouble voice dialing a call. Apparently many others are as well. What is the significance of the different NAME fields in "Contacts"? Which one will the Voice Dialer look in? Any help about other Voice Dialers for the Motorola Android 2? Any suggestions as to how to better use the built in voice dialer(s)?
I'm Rubenn from London UK and recently upgraded to a Hero HTC after having used a Touch Duo HTC for around two years. I, like may others contributing to your forum, am very sad that there is no way I can use my head set and voice dial out with this phone. What a step backwards as in many other respects, this is a wonderful phone although it will take me ages to get my head around all the other possibilities it offers. Is it possible that HTC will get out a patch that can be installed at some point in the near future.
I just got the froyo 2.2 upgrade and can't wait to use all the new features! I am trying to figure out how to use the latest addition of voice command dialing via bluetooth. I have a parrot hooked into my stereo and need some direction on how to set it up.
I'm a newb when it comes to Bluetooth; tonight I borrowed a Moto HS850 and tried it with two ROMs on my Eris:
- HTC/VZW stock 2.1 pre- July OTA (= leak-V3) - Tazz Froyo CM6 2.0
No problems pairing or connecting, answering, disconnecting, or last-number redialing.
I could NOT initiate voice dialing at all on the stock 2.1 ROM, and on the CM6 Froyo ROM, the headset could initiate the voice dialer, but it appears that no voice input was being transferred to the voice dialer.
So, I guess I have two questions:
- are all the Froyo CM6 ROMs essentially the same when it comes to Bluetooth capabilities and bugs?
- ignoring cases of gross interoperability problems (can't pair/can't connect), are the results obtained highly sensitive to the brand and model of the paired BT device?
Anyone get any voice dialing functionality out of this handset? I tried TopVoiceControl but she just errors out after launching it (installed the app, the Texttovoice lib restarted the device and negative). If its already in the phone, well show me the error of my ways because for the life of me I can't find it. Or if anyone has any other voice dialer app alternatives, please share, again I couldn't find one.
Is anyone aware of any voice dialing apps that speak back, ala blackberry, instead of giving you a visual list that you must then interact with, negating the benefits of voice dialing, like when driving and not able to look at the phone?
New to the forums, looking at replacing my TyTN II with a Hero. Can't quite believe the omission of voice dialing though - my Nokia 8310 had it 5 years ago! What I'd like to know is is it likely that it will be included later, or, failing that, is it feasible for somebody to write a voice dialing application? I use the phone in the car and I don't want to be pressing buttons. Which reminds me does anybody know if Brodit will be doing a car mount for the Hero?
The Droid X paired easily with my Aliph Jawbone Icon ($99, ) Bluetooth headset andwonder of wonders!triggered voice dialing over Bluetooth, a rare feature on an Android phone. Voice recognition was pretty accurate.
as many if not all are aware who use the Motorola Droid that the bluetooth and voice dialing is a joke. Phones from 6 years ago and every one since function better than the Motorola Droid does in this aspect. With over 800,000 units said to be sold(Moto Droid)... the number of stars for this issue are very low.... In fact the overall participation on google code is low i think.I'm asking everyone to go on Google Code, log in with your gmail account, or do whatever you have to do to be able to 'Star' the issue. Posting replies on their site is not necessary without relevant new info to the issue, and only dilutes the issue. Staring alone is enough and very helpfull
I just got a new bluetooth headset, and I set it up with my Hero only to find *gasp* no voice dialing? The whole point of having the headset is to not have to look at the phone while driving! The owner's manual of the Hero says it supports hands free profiles, as does my headset(obviously) but there's no voice dial. Unbelievable!
