HTC Desire :: Photo Uploading To Picasa Produces Grey Stripe?

Jul 12, 2010

Uploaded a batch of photos from my phone to Picasa - quite a few towards the end of the batch ended up with a grey bar across the bottom half of the photo.Anyone know what causes this? Saw one or two previous posts have been made about it, but no one seems to know why it happens.

HTC Desire :: Uploading Photos From Phone Using Picasa

Jul 27, 2010

I am trying to upload photos from my Desire to my Picasa web albums and having no success. When i use the share function on the phone I am asked to create a google account or sign in. As I have a google account which i use for my google calender, contacts and tasks I try signing in with that. That is as far as i get, after it trying to connect to the google server and returning to the picture of the photo i wanted to upload. My desire is still syncing ok with calender, contacts and tasks so the account is accessible but not to picasa it seems. I have downloaded Picasa 3 to my laptop and can upload photos from there fine.Any pointers/solutions will of course be gratefully received.

General :: How To Stop PICASA From Uploading Pics Automatically

Jun 3, 2012

I finally found how to stop this tool from uploading pics automatically. I was so relieved to find this solution because Picasa was starting to upload pics that I don't even remember taking.

On your phone: go to---->

1) settings

2) accounts and sync

3) click on your gmail account

4) uncheck Sync Picasa Web Albums (and for good measure if you want also uncheck Sync Instant Upload and Sync Google Photos)

5) now hit back and sync all

Now go into your gallery and the folder that says 'Instant Upload' should be gone.

HTC Desire :: Can't Save Attachments / Get Picasa To Work?

Sep 22, 2010

I wonder if one of you kind souls could help with a couple of probs I'm having with my HTC Desire.

The first problem is with text messages with photos attached. I see "Slideshow- 1 slide" but when I try to view it, I just see the text that was included in the message on a black background. If I go to save the slide, I check the box and then "Done" and get "Unable to save attachment".

And secondly, I can't seem to get Picasa to work. I select a photo on the phone, go to Share With, then Picasa and it asks me to login to my google account. I do this, and then it just goes back to the picture without uploading or doing anything! It's driving me mad!

HTC Desire :: Uploading Videos To You Tube Via 3G

Sep 24, 2010

I know this has been asked about the Motorola Droid, but I was wondering the same thing about the HTC Desire, Uploading you tube videos via 3g network. When I've taken a video using my phone, I have the option to share it by sending it to You Tube (annoyingly this creates another Google account on my phone, but never mind). More annoying is the fact that it waits until I'm connected to a wi-fi network before allowing me to upload it. Surely if I want to use my data allowance to upload videos to You Tube, that's my business, but I can't find a setting that allows me to change this. According to HTC, this is a change that T-Mobile must have made. I'm not convinced by this, but I'd like to know what other people have found, and whether there are any easy ways around it. Still being fairly new to Android, I don't fancy rooting the phone. I'm using Android 2.1.

Android :: Gl DeleteTextures Produces Strange Error (5572216)

Aug 23, 2010

I'm trying to get my head around how the vram is used in opengl, specifically when and how to clean it up. The Story So Far. I have a GLSurfaceView into which I set a Renderer implementation (called OpenGLRenderThread). This view is created (manually, by calling "new") in the main Activity of the app. When the onSurfaceCreated method of the OpenGLRenderThread is called, I load a bunch of textures in a fairly standard way: the app runs fine, however when I try to clean up these textures at the end of the "level" (the app is a game. I do the following: On the emulator it works fine, but on the device (HTC Desire, 2.1) I get a GL Error 5572216 I have no idea what this error code is as I can't seem to find any reference to it. I understand that the VRAM references are bound to the thread that created them. Hence they can only be destroyed by the same thread. In my case, this thread is the OpenGLRenderThread (Renderer) during the onSurfaceCreated call.Unfortunately the Renderer interface does not expose an "onSurfaceLost" method, so I created my own. When the Level is complete, my main activity queues a request on the OpenGLRenderThread using the following call to the GLSurfaceView: According to javadoc for queueEvent: "Queue a runnable to be run on the GL rendering thread" Ok fine, so this should mean that the OpenGLRenderThread is performing the call to onSurfaceLost. This method is the one that then calls glDeleteTextures, and produces the error. what am I doing wrong here? I am not destroying the OpenGLRenderThread or the GLSurfaceView at any point (other than game exit) so I'm worried that if I don't explicitly delete the textures my vram will eventually fill up, or worse get into a corrupt state. The only other thing that may be relevant is the use of a ViewFlipper. Because I want to load each level asynchronously I am using a ViewFlipper in the main activity to flip to a loading screen while all the level resources are rebuilt. Hence when the call to glDeleteTextures is made, the GLSurfaceView is not actually visible not sure if this is meaningful or not.

Android : Playing Bigger Size Audio Wav Sound File Produces Crash

Mar 25, 2010

I am trying to play the bigger size audio wav file(which is >20 mb) using the following code(AudioTrack) on my Android 1.6 HTC device which basically has less memory. But i found device crash as soon as it executes reading, writing and play. But the same code works fine and plays the lesser size audio wav files(10kb, 20 kb files etc) very well.

P.S: I should play PCM(.wav) buffer sound, the reason behind why i use AudioTrack here. Though my device has lesser memory, how would i read bigger audio files bytes by bytes and play the sound to avoid crashing due to memory constraints. Code...

Could someone guide me please to play the AudioTrack code for bigger size wav files?

HTC Desire :: Private Photo Album

Is it possible to create an album which is password protected? To which photos go automatically instead of to the 'all photos bit'?I'm sure that's impossible.. you'd have to have some setting in the camera that selected which folder it went into.but is it possible to have a password protected folder in the photo gallery to which you can easily move (how?) pictures from the normal camera folder?I'm sure you can think of uses for such a feature - in my case it's for photos to measure my fitness/muscleness (I ignore scales) - and I have friends who happily browse my phone (I don't mind except for this - I have to remember to upload the pictures then delete them). (They all know the swipe password thing, because it's pretty easy to accidentally watch/memorise.)
