HTC Desire :: How To Delete Files From Phone?
is there any way of managing/deleting files (eg PDFs that you download) on the SD card from the phone itself ? ie can you do it without connecting to a PC and mounting as disk drive ?Also - just bought a 16gb SD card and it seems like the speed of access/saving photos and transferring music from PC is much slower than with the 4GB card that came with the phone. Is that normal or have i got a dud/fake SD Card ? ( i know - I bought if from ebay - but it was a proper 30,000+ feedback seller of memory cards..)

HTC Desire HD : How To Delete Music Files?
Have just got my Desire HD and I'm loving the feel and look of it. This is my first touch phone/ANDROID phone, having previously owned the NOKIA N95 8GB, which I was more than happy with and would have kept it but the pull of the DESIRE just proved too much My teething problems seem to be with my music. I've put a load of albums on the phone from my PC. Some I can't find on my phone?!?! Others have gone on twice. I cannot delete the files from the phone. Does anyone know how to delete music files?

Motorola Droid :: Unnecessary Files - Safely Delete Them - Just The Files Not Folder?
I uploaded about 50 pictures from iPhoto (using a Mac) just to see what they looked like and then later formatted the Droid's SD card, so the pictures were no longer there. Now, if I mount the Droid via USB and view the file structure there is a folder named /albumthumbs which contains 50 files, presumably for the 50 pictures a had on the SD card. To me, these file, unless linking to actual photos stored on the SD card, take up extra space in the phone's memory (not worried about the SD card). I wonder if I can safely delete them (just the files...not the folder)?

HTC Desire :: Delete Password From Phone?
I don't like the way my phone is automatically connected to my google account. It means anyone getting hold of my phone could access my email and my checkout. Is there a way to have it not remember the password so that every time it wants to connect for any reason it prompts first?

HTC Desire :: Delete All Contacts From Phone In One Fell Swoop?
Just bought a Desire and synced my Contacts with Outlook but result is not to my satisfaction. I want to start over again. How do I get rid of all my Contacts (they seem to be called People in Desire-speak) in one fell swoop. I know that I can go into the list and select contacts to delete but there are over 1500 contacts there and I'm not going to spend the next 2 weeks deleting them one by one. There must be some way to select them all and then delete them. Oh, and I don't want to do a hard reset and spend the next few hours re-entering my other data.

HTC Desire :: Radio Files - Flashing Rooted Phone
With regard to phone calls dropping when on a nominal h/3g connection (as when I'm in the house I have a 3g/h reception 2 bars but when I pick the phone up it seems to drop out to g after a few seconds so if I answer a call on 3g/h a few seconds later the phone switches to g and disconnects me poor signal in the house I think but very annoying as I have to keep the phone on g only in the house and use WiFi for browsing at the moment)). I searched for some ROM radio files to flash to my rooted phone and found these 3 roms [Radio ROM] Desire Radio Roms - xda-developers Was wondering if anyone has looked into this and if there is anymore (possibly updated files) out there. At the moment I have downgraded to file 30.34 as this radio file seems to switch from g/3g/h the quickest and it's a bit more stable (still cutting to g connection once I've had the phone in my hand for a couple of seconds (think due to the receiver being in the bottom of the phone as someone else has reported), will check it's progress but all files give a similar reception.

HTC Desire :: Transferring Music Files To Android Phone?
I have only had my HTC Desire for a couple of days and I love it however this is my first 'android' phone so I am still finding my way around doing things. I wanted to transfer music from my PC to my phone so I linked up my phone with the PC using the USB cable and dragged the files from my desktop to the J drive which I assume is my phone but the music does not appear to be in my music folder, I assume that I have to do something else to get it from the SD card to my phone but what

Android :: Remove / Delete Res - Raw Files?
Is it possible to remove files from res/raw once the program is running? I'd like to include some mp3s in the app I'm making, but if the user doesn't like them, I'd like to provide the option to delete those files. Is there a way to delete files from res/raw once the app is running? How are you guys packaging files with your apps? In res/raw? Or a different approach?

HTC Desire :: Checking Files - Deleting Files - Making Space
How do you go about checking what is stored on your phones memory and deleting content? For example I used dropbox and downloaded a 7mb photo onto my phone. Can't find it in the photos app or anywhere else. Going into SD & phone storage under settings doesn't do anything. It says I have 70mb available space under phone storage but you can't click on that to get any further info. Same goes for the SD card options.

Android :: Way To Delete App Associated Files From External Storage On Uninstall
It'd be convenient if an application I'm writing stored some files to external storage permanently (so they persist after the application has been exited[destroyed]), but on an uninstall I'd like to do the decent thing and have these files removed to free up the storage. Is there any way I can have these files removed on an uninstall? If there isn't (and I'm skeptical), then I'll have to create these files each time. I'm trying to save start-up time and also occupy required space by having them exist permanently. Note: I need to use external storage, so both internal storage or a DB would be inappropriate.

Motorola Droid 2 :: Astro File Manager / Way To Delete Files?
Now I am slightly new to the android game. Had a D1 that I traded for and I loved it. Used Astro File manager on there to get swype when it was available. I hear about this app and how it is great and you need it. I have downloaded it and I am not really 100% positive on its purpose. Is it just an easy way to delete files? Are there files I shouldn't delete?

Motorola Droid : Should I Delete Smoked Glass Files From Sd Card
Just got my Droid working perfect today, I was sooo happy. I am running Smoked Glass V5.0 overclocked at 900 mhz and loving it. I decided to play with tethering. Got it going on my mac just great. I tapped the stop tethering and after Wifi Tethering shut off I pulled the usb cable without amounting, ohoh. I am usually so careful about this as my Mac get angry at me if I don't. Now this is the only thing I can think of because then my beautiful widgets wouldn't work right stating it needs an sd card to operate. Hmm, what's that all about I thought..yep went through the settings and the droid is not seeing it. Pulled and reinserted the sd card number of times. Soft reset a few and even Advanced restored from recently and still does not read it. My Mac reads the card without a problem through a card reader. So I got this brainstorm to back it up, do a disk repair to see if that helps. No dice... I erased the disc on the mac hoping the droid would see it and I could format it from in there, no go. Finally I restored everything after formatting it on my mac and still it does not see it. The droid just goes into a 3 time boot cycle then it says preparing the sd card, then it freezes and boots again finally to a working state. Of course without my sd card. So I guess I ruined the sd card by pulling it without amounting? I have the insurance on this so I was thinking to Advance Restore to my status prior to rooting then walk in to Verizon and just say it stopped working. Do I have to be more cautious and delete the smoked glass files from my sd card or just leave as is. I have everything backed up on my mac so I could just throw the restore file back on there if they replace the sd card for me or if I need to delete all those files to be safe and not jeopardize the warranty.Any thoughts or suggestions appreciated.

HTC Desire :: Delete "all" Phone Contacts - Not Google
I made a complete arse out of syncing my contacts and would appreciate a bit of help I use my google contacts for all my phone numbers (about 500 numbers) but i have managed to sync with my pc (old out-of-date outlook address book), which (without my meaning to) has populated the "phone" contacts on the desire as well with another 450 contacts - mostly duplicates and old numbers now i can set the view to only show google contacts but i'd prefer not having the 450 dupes there at all so finally my question - is there an easy way to delete all "phone" contacts but leaving my "google contacts" in the phone? ie not doing it individually one by one deleting. most important i want to make sure that whatever i do doesn't delete all my google contacts online mimicing any action i take on the phone

HTC Desire :: Playing Windows Media Video Files On Desire
I'm new to the Android OS having been a Symbian (2nd phone is a Nokia N97) and Windows Mobile user previously. My question regards a copy of Family Guy (Something, Something, Something, Dark Side) which I purchased yesterday. The standard DVD also comes with a digital copy on the DVD which, when inserted into the drive brings up a choice of transferring the file to my computer to be copied over to my Desire as either a iTunes file or a Windows Media Video (WMV).Ideally I want to avoid the iTunes route as currently I have no use for that program on my system so I would like to be able to use the WMV version. When I copied the file to my Desire, it didn't play and the phone didn't seem to recognise it. Can anyone please give me advice on how to play a WMV on my Desire?

Already i can see that android is significantly better than Winmo 6.5 which was awful in my opinion. Is there an app that can play avi files? If not is there something that is free to use that can convert the files to a format that suits the Desire.I have searched the forums and market place but with no luck.
