My Desire needs to go back for repair and i need to copy my contacts on to my Sim card so i can use the Sim in another phone. i have tried a few apps but they all keep telling me the Sim card is either full or locked (its got no contacts on it. Does anyone know of a free way to do this, i have found a program but it was about 20, don't really want to spend that if i can help it.
Probably a dumb question, but here goes. Want to temporarily use an old phone - Desire and music festival is not a good mix - and can't seem to be able to find how to copy all my contacts to my SIM. Can export then to and from SD and from SIM but not to SIM. Currently no contacts shown as being on SIM so assume it does not auto save to it Running unmolested Android 2.1.
When my girlfriend got her Eris about 4-5 months ago Verizon was kind enough to copy her contacts from her Razor phone to her new Eris. However she now needs to return the phone for service (silent call bug) and she went to G mail to ensure all her contacts was backed up... they are not. It seems the contacts are stored on her phone (Eris) and not in g mail. How can we import all of her contacts from the phone memory into G mail?
I'm hoping to get my hands on an X10 soon and want to copy the contacts from my Hero across easily. I can't find an obvious export function. I thought that I could sync the phone contacts to my Google account. However, each time I try that, it comes up with an error message something like "Google Sync is currently experiencing problems", then I get a "Force Close" message.
I'm new Android/Google and set my Desire's contacts up onto the phone. I have just realised the benefits of putting everything onto your Google account, and how it auto stores and updates your addresses, numbers, and emails etc. is there any way to change your phone contacts to Google contacts? without having to type them all out again. I can not seen to find how to do this.
How do people prefer to save their contacts? To Google or to their phone? At the moment mine are on my phone, but I have been told there are several benefits to saving them to Google. Is there a way of transferring them from my phone to Google? Or do I have to re-enter them on either the phone or a PC?Also, if I add a person's birthday in my phonebook, will it automatically appear on the calendar?
have noticed my contacts are set to google but for my own reasons, i'd rather not have my numbers stored on some server somewhere.how'd I change existing contacts into the d fashioned phone only contacts?
I have read the search results, but just a simple question. When you sync items, phone/pda/pc etc, you get the oppertunity to choose which item takes priority if say mobile phone number has been changed in two devices. How does this work between google and my phone.I don't want to spend ages today getting my contacts just right on google via my pc to find they all go wonky when it syncs later on.
I added a contact on my PC (http://www.google.com/contacts) which then got sync'd to my phone. I pasted the phone number in from a website, which began something like this: "+44 (0)207..." When I dialed the number on the phone, a recorded message told me that voicemail settings had been changed, and to hang up and dial again in five minutes. Immediately, an SMS message arrived from ">pers", saying "Network message - please delete", followed by a load of random gibberish. Looking in the Call History, it appears that the phone ignores the brackets, and dials, "+44 0207..." which is incorrect. It ought to know that numbers in brackets after the country code are only used when dialling locally without the country code. Calling that incorrect number (I don't know if it's the specific number I called, or just that prefix) somehow connected to some aspect of the (T-mobile UK) voicemail system. I wonder what setting I've changed?Googling suggests that the SMS from ">pers" is some sort of phone-configuration message that is normally supposed to be intercepted by the phone. Anyway, bottom line is this - if you add contacts to your Google account on your PC (which is sometimes very convenient, and a great feature of the Google system), be careful to remove any unnecessary area prefixes.
I have searched around on this and other forums, looking for the answer to a question that has been bugging me since before the weekend.I got the HTC desire on friday (love the phone!) and have got to the point where most of the things are set up how I want. I have used HTC sync to import my contacts from Outlook where they were already set up how I wanted. However I can't seem to be able to import these contacts back up to my Google account though. I have turned on all the sync settings and checked these, but nothing seems to work.I tried creating a dummy contact in my google account and prompted a sync from my phone which pulled this down ok. So this would indicate that the sync seems to work one way, but wont pull my contacts back up the other.I don't really want to re-enter all my contacts into my Google account to get the sync working properly plus I am assuming this will create a duplicate of every contact already on my phone.
I've recently (today, earlier & just now) added a few Google contacts to my phone. They don't appear in my contacts on my GoogleMail web page. I've manually synced them on the phone and refreshed the web page to no avail.I created one much earlier on (maybe even yesterday) and it's there. If I create a new contact on the web it appears almost immediately on the phone.
I've got an old Sony Erikson which obviously has all my contacts on. I've just got the hero, and want to import my old phone book. I've put the old Sim card in the hero, but can see no way of copying the info off the Sim. I synced the hero with the old card in it to my pc. Will this have copied the info over, and do I just sync the phone again to have the info copied over. I notice that all my g mail contacts are on the new phone. I assume using g mail on it has just carried it over, but no phone numbers. Any advice on best way to do this, much appreciated.
I got my new Xperia X10 yesterday, and when i went into the phone book for the first time to copy contacts from Sim i made the mistake of coming out of the setup wizard, and now i cant see how to copy from sim. Someone please help, i have no contacts on my phone!
How do I copy my contacts to my SIM card on my Samsung Galaxy i7500?
I want to copy my contacts to my SIM card so i can reset it and update it. But the problem is, in pcs you can copy your contacts from your phone to pcs, but i first have to update it. But when i update it all my numbers would be lost. And the second problem is it doesnt want to update my phone. When i try to update it, it says there has been a problem with the connection with the server.
Could i put a memory card in to my phone and copy my numbers to it?
I got all my Facebook contacts numbers synced and it comes in contacts but its not coming as phone contacts. Only when it comes as phone contacts i can use them in other apps like Viber and Whatsapp. Its not practically possible add and each very number manually (1800 friends ). Is there any way to copy Facebook numbers to phone contacts or likewise?
I miss typing in someones name on my BB keyboard and then pressing their name to call them. Love the Hero though. I know the hero can do this, but there are two things I dislike: 1. It uses a keypad not a keyboard. 2. The keypad takes up so much space that you can only see 2.5 names at a time, not 7 or 8+ like a BB. (I know about pressing the button to remove the keypad to see more names) Is there any way of changing #1 or #2 on my Hero? Also, What is the fastest way to copy someone's number and paste it in a text message to someone else? A task I seem to do more often than I would like. The send contact as a vcard is cool, but not all phones can read vcards.
