I went to reboot my Droid because it was lagging a little and when it came back on it go stuck at the Cyanogen boot screen. I pulled the battery, put it back in and held the X to boot in recovery and my recovery won't come up either. It just skips right to the Motorola M and if it doesn't get stuck there it goes back to the Cyanogen screen.
I haven't made any changes to the phone at all so I am completely puzzled on why this is happening. I obviously can't take it back to Verizon since its rooted so if there is a way to fix this I really want to because I love my phone and my wife will kill me if it is screwed up.
I got tired of the kindle fire OS, and really loved my nexus 7, so I decided to flash it to twrp and cyanogen. So following the directions on the youtube video, (can't link it) which was an awesome tutoral, I flashed it. Now the issue I'm having is that Cyanogen will start to boot, get to a screen that says 'problems loading widget', then reboot, and doesn't stop.
For the past 2 hours I have been searching this site and reading about Rooting and Flashing new ROM's etc. and I'm still having trouble. I downloaded Cyanogen 6.0.0 and when the phone re booted it got stuck at the Cyanogen boot animation screen, and when I pulled the Battery and rebooted in to recovery I was able to restore everything and now the phone works again.
So first off, how long should it take after downloading a new ROM to boot back up with the new ROM installed? And how can I save the ROM in to the SD card? And when I go to DL Cyanogen it asks which home application I should use and gives me ADWlauncher and Launcher 2 as options.
I have a Pandigital Star Media Tablet and I am stuck on the boot image and it will not do anything else except boot into stock recovery and turn off. I am able to provide anything you need to possably fix this.
Heres a list of root programs installed:
-z4root -Superuser -Titainium Backup Pro - LCD Density Changer - Root toolbox
Heres the backups I have: -Titainium full backup -Pandigital Backup data -ADW launcher settings and homescreens backup.
I have probably bricked my Huawei Vision by rewriting boot image.
However, I can connect* it to PC and it sees my phone as "Huawei Handset" (same with Windows and Linux). But Windows misses its drivers (non-bricked phone worked); Linux seems to work. No OS can connect to it using default (downloaded) ADB, nor Fastboot, nor SoftwareUpdateTool.
Its PCI ID is 12d1:c002.
How could I reflash it? I would prefer the ways without disassembling the phone.
How to boot the phone, so you can connect it to PC:
1. turn off my phone completely (vol up + power for 10 seconds - release power for a seconds and repeat it once again)
2. prepare USB cable, so you can connect it in few seconds
3. hold vol down + power and after ~1s, connect USB cable (still hold vol down)
4. when Huawei logo appears, release both buttons - your phone is connected now
i just got a new phone (my first android), ive been trying to change my boot animation and cant seem to get it to work,i replaced the file which was named bootanimation_virigin.zip (also didnt think of renaming the original, so the original is gone), i even replaced the stock one which was named bootanimation.zip (also didnt rename it or back it up... -__-;; ) i made sure the files are correct and match up with the desc.txt file. i copied the original boot animation zip to my computer and just replaced everything, same number of files, about the same file size, same file type, same size and just put the folders "part0", "part1" and the desc.txt files back on my sd card and moved it to system/media/bootanimation_virigin, i compressed the files into a zip using root browser from the rom toolbox, i made sure that the compression was set to none, and then moved the zip file to system/media, i set the permisions to rw-r--r-- which is the exact same as the other boot animations. nothing shows up anymore till the phone is done booting but ill admit that it is definitely better than the stock virgin mobile animation...
here is everything i have for this boot animation (including: original virgin mobile boot animation, a video of the boot animation, all the pictures, and a folder titled "bootanimation_virign" which is the folder i moved into system/media)
i thought it was something on my phone but it was the way after effects renders jpeg sequences, i think it has something to do with the attributes of the jpeg file but anyways i just used a program called boot animation creator and it worked perfectly
i have an xperia tablet s i need to change boot animation but without root. i searched a lot and most of people said that this is not possible, only few said that this can be done but hasn't said how to do that? i tried to adb push but it said read only file system.the xperia tablet has an ics and is purchased from other country and it isn't supported yet in my country so i can't root.
I have read many post on changing the boot audio along with the boot animation, but was unable to get it to work with my bionic so i did some foot work with my budy and we figured out how to change the boot audio on the droid Bionic.
1. Download and extract the bootanimation file.
2. Backup/Move your stock bootanimation file out of system/bin
3. Move the new bootanimation file to system/bin
4. Move selected audio (Must be mp3 format and named "android_audio") to system/media
I have a scroll view with lots of image buttons. I want to change the image for an image button when it's pressed. The thing is that I want the image to remain until another image button is pressed. That's why I couldn't use a selector. What is the best practice to achieve his?
I wanted to change the boot logo for i9300. Im well aware that you have to incorporate it in the kernel. I installed Ubuntu, the necessary libraries and brought the cyanogenmod source code. Only part is I dont have the necessary experience to tweak it using the NDK tools
So I have looked around xda etc. Cant find a simple answer (hoping there is). So long story I am on a rooted Evo. I was trying to flash cm6 via rom manager. I kept getting error 7's. So I found the PC36IMG.zip followed the directions. I am now in bootloader. Tried (many times) to run nandroid. But it gives me the error while flashing boot image for all 3 backups.
Do I have to buy a certain kind of micro SD card for the Eris? I bought an extra 2gb Sandisk micro SD card and I tried to use it to update my friends phone to 2.1 v3 and it didn't ever load the image when in boot. I finally had to take my card out of my phone and use it. A pain, but it worked. I'm just wondering if I got the wrong card?
I am trying to put a custom boot animation on my moto droid 1. I have root I have done it before and I am using froyo. My big problem now is that I tried putting a different one I downloaded on and it worked. So I need someone to tell me whats wrong with the one I made, because I am out of ideas. I have compared size, resolution, ppi, bit depth but for some reason my images are way bigger files. The sequence was created by using virtualdub to clip a section of an animated short, then exporting an image sequence as png.
But I've fed the images through gimp and an image resizer. The frames are only some of them because I went through deleting every other frame a few times to cut down on the total size. The file is too big to attach here so i put it on my web space at: http://www.freaksed.com/stuff/bootanimation.zip I am using the patch that lets me put the files in datalocal and be named bootanimation.zip. it works I've tried with other animations like I said.
I have a Nexus one and I have made a bit of a mess of it when loading a custom rom. Previously I'd rooted (without unlocking) the stock (2.2) rom before loading Cyanogen 6, later Cyanogen nightlies and finally eViL-NXSense-v1213. I was rather enjoying the last one but had severe stability issues which I think was due to using Titanium Backup and restoring data. I was in the process of re-imaging to eViL-NXSense-v1213 after clearing the SD card, data and various caches when something seemed to happen to the recovery image. I can get into the boot loader but if I select Recovery it shows the Nexus One logo indefinitely and doesn't respond to the power button being pressed, the same happens if I turn it on from cold.
Is it possible that the recovery image has somehow been corrupted? If so what can I do to restore a recovery image that will enable me to install a custom rom. I would prefer not to unlock the boot loader but will do it if necessary.
I have installed the cyanogen mod in my desire Z but the market is not working.
(1) the market was not present in the first place, so i had to download and install it...but google play is not working, whenever i select google play, it comes back to the home screen. (2) i have'nt kept any nandroid backup, and i've made the permanent root on the phone with with mod. (3) now i want to revert back to the stock rom, but i cam unable to do so....how to roll back to the sock rom. (4) i have tried to flash the roms from this thread [URL] ... ... trired both the methods. but didnt work!
I desperately need a solution for either (or both) of these:
(1) a way to make google play & android market work (2) to roll back to the stock rom ( link to a desire z stock rom and instructions on how to do it! )
so, is there a way to get my phone back o the way it was? (normal 2.2 /2.3 stock)
here are some screen shots from the current about phone:
I have a problem with Rom custom:CyanogenMod 7.2.0 by FrozenAceTeam. The lockscreen is very slow at power.I have already tried to set the delay after timeout on immediately, but the problem does not disappear. How can i resolve it?
how to install Cyanogen mod are very difficult. I find myself back-tracking all the time. You can't just simply start there, first you have to unlock your phone, right? Then root it? Then install Cyanogen mod, but in between all of that you have to install the Nexus 4 toolkit, which i did, and it says that it's unable to find my drivers.
I've uninstalled my drivers, turned my computer (I have windows 8) back on so it'll re-install them, got the LG drivers pack, went to the XDA forums were they gave me the right link to download more drivers, still nothing.
I never rooted my phone before and thought i would give it a try(SuperOneClick) and it went fine. Then I decided to use Clockwork to install a mod (cyanogen) and cleared everything i needed to, but after it reset it locked on the logo, the LG with a blue swipe behind it, and thats all i get. I tried putting it into APX mode, but my volume buttons wont respond.
