How to set up my internet connection but I am having some problems. When my services bars are blue, and it says 3G or 4G LTE next to it, I can connect to the internet, or if I am in a, area with wifi, I can connect to that. However, If I am not on wifi, and the service bars are grey (without 3G or 4G LTE written next to it), I can not connect to the internet, get my emails, etc. I have a DROID BIONIC.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a Samsung Galaxy S2 with Android 4.0.3 XXLPQ.It's rooted and now has CM9 installed.Unfortunately for some bizarre reason I have no internet connection. I've installed a different modem and it hasn't fixed the issue. APN settings are correct (I've spoken to my network). Sometimes it works absolutely fine then after a few moments it just won't load anything and I get a 'No internet connection' warning. Apps won't work either due to no connection. However I do have a 'H' and sometimes '3G' next to the signal bars. WiFi is working fine. Have full signal.. I've started from scratch and wiped everything several times and re-flashed xxLPQ but still nothing.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI updated my AT&T Galaxy S3 to Android 4.3 a few weeks ago.
Ever since then, I routinely get a notification that says "Your Internet Connection is Unstable".
It seems to happen each time I turn my bluetooth connection on.
Phone on > connected to my home wifi (2.4 gHz) > bluetooth is off > turn bluetooth on > get the "internet connection unstable" message.
If I keep my bluetooth off, then I never get this notification.
I have already wiped the cache partition as noted from thread [URL]...
I have HTC Desire Bravo Gingerbread, Win7. I'm sharing my connection via Virtual Router Manager v1.0. I can successfully connect to internet and surf. I can even sign in to skype. But When I try to call someone via Skype (call someone to their phone) it just kindda blocks internet connection. neither call works neither surfing the net works. But connection works on my laptop.

View 10 Replies View Related It's a Motorola Xoom running Android 4.1.2. The issue it's having is that even though the tablet is connected to the internet none of the apps (play store, YouTube, etc) will connect. They all say 'no internet connection'. The only way I know the tablet is actually connected to Wi-Fi is that the internet browser still works. This might be unrelated to the issue but every single website I go to it gives me the warning 'Security warning: There are problems with the security certificate for this site'. Sometimes I will have to hit cancel 10 times before the warning goes away.
this is something I can fix without doing a complete reset because there are pictures and stuff I don't want to lose. Since I can't connect to google play I can't back them up to am app like dropbox either.
Assuming the following:
Android 2.3.7 device is connected to an IPv6 internet connection
Tethering is legal for your device/carrier
The ipv6-test gives 10/10 (perfect score) for IPv6 readiness for your phone, and you can access e.g. [URL] ..... using the phone itself
You want to tether to a PC using USB
Device is rooted
Is there a way to give the PC access to the phone's IPv6 internet connection?
I'm assuming that we can't give the PC a public IPv6 address, because the phone is probably only allotted one IPv6 address from the carrier; plus they might treat your plan differently or something if you try to claim another IP address (it's an unnecessary complexity)
So what we actually need to do is, to create a NAT IPv6 space on the device, just like we do for IPv4 when we tether, and provision an IP to the PC that way. Then we have to do something for DNS; I guess we can use OpenDNS's AAAA servers.
Do any of the existing tethering methods support this at all, or is this something I'd have to do manually? Also, is it possible even in theory on Android 2.3, or is it known that a newer version of Android will enable it?
Some of my closed apps automatically start when internet connection is opened.How do they sence the connection is opened?Is there an app that can stop them from opening?
My app killer will kill them when I manually hit the kill bottom or when the phone is locked.But there is no settings that stop them from starting and running after I start my data or WiFi connection.
Often times "like aboard an airplane" there's someone you want to talk with, but can't, because they're in a different seat. Is there any app that would allow people to:
a) send messages to other Android phones via bluetooth
b) sent messages by connecting to a common wifi network (yet not connected to the internet)
c) create an ad-hoc network and send messages that way.
Would any of those be feasible at all?
I just ordered a Lenovo S2110 Android tablet with keyboard dock. The idea was to use this 20 hour machine on road trips to do work related activities. For my job, I need to connect via VPN to get access to my work's intranet. I can do that fine in Windows on my pc or my work laptop. I was hoping to do this via Android and the Cisco AnyConnect program. Unfortunately my company doesnt have the license for Cisco AnyConnect mobile so I cannot connect directly via android.
Is it at all possible to connect and share the connection via my home pc that is connected via VPN via the internet somehow? Meaning, can I have VPN running at home and if I am away, connect through the internet and get the VPN tunnel to my android so I can connect to the work websites through the Android browser? Or access my shared network drive?
Only other option I see is using Team Viewer of Splash Desktop to connect as a remote session, but that is not preferable .
I have windows95 pc and an android device(samsung galaxy young duos gt-s6312) but i can't connect internet in pc by using the phone!

View 3 Replies View RelatedI need to develop an application that will check whether the phone is in roaming. If it's in roaming then the application should block internet for all applications except several from white list. In non-roaming mode it should allow all requests. There should be no way for user to kill or suspend the application or turn internet on.
I'm not familiar with android much so I really don't know whether it possible to implement without modification of OS. Is there any way to do this?
I just got my HTC Desire the other day and I'm looking for a family friendly Internet filter (aka. Web protection, Net safety, Internet security) app for my phone that will block any mature content from the devices browser. At the moment I can't find anything- but I know these forums are the best on the web- so, if a net family filter android app exists, I know someone on here will be able to tell me about it!
View 2 Replies View RelatedFor the past few days, I have been having occasional problems connecting to the internet when my signal is showing as full bars of 3G. It usually corrects itself when I reboot but then happens again after some time. This happens when using both the dolphin and skyfire browsers. Ive also not been able to use my Sprint hotspot for the past two days. My laptop and iPhone show as being connected to the EVO via wifi but are unable to access the internet through it. Anyone else having these problems?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI checked the other "no internet connection threads" but I don't quite see the same problem as I think I'm having. I have a non-rooted Desire (Swiss Sunrise) and I updated to 2.2. I'm going on a week's holiday soon and I wanted to see if my Irish sim would work in my phone because the data roaming rates with Sunrise are extortionate (13.90 Swiss francs per megabyte!). Lo and behold, I put the card in and it works no problem! I rang my wife's phone just to check.
There was an alert that came up, asking me to select my home network and I chose o2.ie and I think this may be where things went wrong. Now I can't connect to the mobile internet network even though I have selected Sunrise in settings->wireless/network->mobile network->access point names. Can someone tell me how I can reset my home network to Sunrise?
I have a HTC Magic G2 and I would like to use the Internet connection of my computer (Windows XP). I have already installed a bluetooth (ANYCOM USB-200) and Wlan (Linksys Compact Wireless-G USB adapter). Which one would be the best to offer HTC an Internet connection and how I can setup the Internet connection?
View 2 Replies View Relatedi would like to use my pc's internet connection for my phone, mobile data is very expensive in my country.
View 1 Replies View RelatedIn my application I must use the internet connection ,so I check it first before I open an URL connection using this :-
public boolean IsConnectedToNetwork(ConnectivityManager conManager) { NetworkInfo allNetworkInfo = conManager.getActiveNetworkInfo(); NetworkInfo currNetworkInfo; boolean anythingConnected = false; for (int i = 0; i < allNetworkInfo.length; i++) { currNetworkInfo = allNetworkInfo[i];
if (currNetworkInfo.getState() == NetworkInfo.State.CONNECTED) { anythingConnected=true; }
}
return anythingConnected; }
However this code runs well when I connected to either the operator internet Or to a Wi-fi network. But when I'm connected to the operator but without credit and no internet the mobile also sees it as there's internet,or even connected to a Wi-fi network but without internet gateway it also sees as if it's connected to the internet.
What is the simplest way to check whether my app can access the internet? I am using some APIs that use the internet, but they crash if there is no connectivity. So I just want to check if there is internet access by any means.

Is there anything I have to do on the phone?
Forgot to add - I am able to connect to my home wifi (bt homehub) but I am no longer at home.
I am a newbie to Android so please excuse me if this is a silly question or one that has been answered many times before. When connecting to and using the Internet, I am trying to find out what determines the connection that the phone will use when more than one connection is available: Wifi, 3G etc. Is there a standard priority order for connection and use? can the user set the priority order? Usually I would expect the wifi connection to be preferred for reasons of speed and cost. I have looked at my phone user guide and the official Android user guide but cannot find any information about this.
