Got a samsung galaxy s4 and I called att for the unlock and they gave it to me and I tried it but I get network unlock unsuccessful. I tried the free unlock method but u was told to turn on persha. Then when they tell you to type numbers in the diall pad to see what is locked and what is off I get the emergency calls only message what could this be.ciuld be my sim card because I did cut it diwn into a micro sim

However, Dropbox did not seem to work properly. I was able to login, but couldnt access my files correctly. For example, I was able to open my Keepass file, but not able to save any changes...it would just complain about not being able to save.
I've uninstalled and reinstalled both Dropbox and KeepassDroid, with no success. The wieird thing is I also tried to browse the SD Card using ES File Explorer, and I'm not able to delete the Dropbox .thinkfree directory, nor am I able to delete/copy/move/rename the local Keepass directory and file...it just complains that it cannot perform the operation
I just unlocked my Galaxy S4 with lates 4.3 OS. The code was accepted (succesful?), after that screen went to my normal desktop, but after a few seconds, then it started to boot, then message showed "erasing", and phone reset to factory settings, so I lost everything. Phone seems fine now, I can make calls and dloading on wifi all apps I lost. But wondering if this was due to lates firmware, or perhaps something went wrong, and still is? I didn't see phone reseting after unlocking on any tutorial videos I watched, but again, those were made way before this lates 4.3 OS. Also, I entered the unlock code with the wifi ON, opposed to instructions.

I'm at the beginning of my journey here and still gathering and hunting for information. I've looked around and there are lots of tutorials but none of them answer my noob questions.
Do you need to have your phone unlocked or debranded in order to root?
Will rooting the phone also unlock it?
I've found a place where they guarantee unlocking of this phone but they charge 20$US. If I can root the phone and not having to pay for that it would be great.
So far in my research I've boiled down the overall plan to:

last month i broke my glass screen, so i ordered a replacment, today i gave my friend who was sure he can do it to replace the glass screen. cut to the end, he did replaced it, but the screen shows black , it appears that the touch screen is ok becuase its make sounds of touching but the screen is black..

The installed languages are asian languages (+English), so I would like to change the firmware to a European version, since I would like to have Hungarian language on the phone (especially but not only because I would like to be able to type messages with Swype). The question: The new firmware belongs to a different location than the old one.
I have noticed that after the last update, my touch screen doesn't work for a few seconds on random occasions and then works again after about 3 or 4 seconds. when I'm reading a book and they're about to reveal the mystery or enthusiastically playing a game and it stops working, I get increasingly frustrated that I can't turn the page or that I lost the game because during the last few seconds my touchscreen decided to temporarily stop working.. I just want to make sure there's not something wrong internally.

The Android code on how ContentProviders work, and to me, it looks like any ContentProvider I query actually gets placed entirely in the memory of the requesting application. Are they really stored in the querying application's memory? For some reason I thought the cursors were lazy.
