When hitting battery usage, would the LWP show up under display? I loaded in a new LWP from the market and checked battery usage and display was off the chart % wise compared to my normal use. And that was with some pretty decent phone activity. I disabled the LWP to check, but does anyone know if it will show here? Or anywhere?
Here is a couple screens from my EVO. When it warns you to plug in the phone it also has a button to check usage that is built into the phone. Wish somone could build an app directly to this. As the battery was draining (almost dead) I left this screen up (waiting for it to die) total of 13hrs and 20+ min. It does not use any battery to check this. Look at how long it has been unplugged. The BT, Sprint Nav and Beautiful widgets never get killed by my task killer because these are a must for my job. I am a Professional Driver of 21 years and these are needed.
I don't know if it's my phone or what but when I look up the Other Usage on my phone, it shows it "Running" more than 2/3 of the time. And on Network Usage, "Android System" and "Media" use a great deal of the phone as well.I think this might have to do with my "android.process.acore" crashing every once in a while when it's asleep. Based on everyone's feedback I might have to return the Moment for a third time.
I've got a ton of apps, so I'm looking for an app drawer replacement that allows me to sort apps by frequency of use. I'm imagining a list view that will sort my most used apps to the top (I'm bad at remembering app names, so it always takes me a while to find something).
I'd prefer some sort of standalone app organizer, not a launcher replacement, since I like the launcher I'm currently using.
i always listen about the ram used in android is different than windows..
My first question is, why RAM is like 90% used, the phone become slower??? My second question is, Why 99% of apps are always started with phone, when enter in Applications section, and see Running apps, you see millions of apps, or when you enter like, Calculator or Torch or another app details it appears Stop.. WHEN I STARTED IT?
Im now user of Galaxy S Duos, when i have Motorola Atrix using a custom rom named "Neutrino" my ram, after flash it was 80~90 and here in Galaxy S Duos is 390~500 and the max is 685mb so so, than when press clean RAM, it closes a certain number of processes but only 50mb ram max it decreases... Why?
Just got my first ICS phone. I'm looking at the data usage analysis tool, and I see that the vast majority of my data usage falls under the heading "Android OS", which sounds pretty generic. Is that some catch-all meaning "anything which doesn't fall under something else", or is it something more specific which I could easily control? What does "Android OS" mean in the context of Data Usage?
Just ordered contract for our youngest. Bit worried about her going over and as it cannot be capped, any app (it's Android) that will monitor usage of minutes & data and preferably send a message (text, email or whatever!) to me when it gets to a set limit?
I only have 750 MB, and I'm going way over that. How can I get my phone to use wi-fi as much as possible? There's wi fi in alot of the places I work but not at home. Most of the usage seems to be software updates, and google play store updates, and a few other apps being updated. Can it not wait to do those updates until wi fi is available to save my data. I'm with Orange btw, and the local wi fi netwrok is with O2.
I have currently upgraded my Xperia Neo to CM9. I have been experiencing a bit lesser batter life. Also when i use CpySpy app it doesnt show the time spent by the processor in the specified frequencies. It always shows 0 for all states. that is definitely not correct. The system can't be idle when I use right? So i'm wondering is there any issue with CM9 or my phone particularly. Also i have already used CM7 and CpySpy was giving me right numbers. why my battery drains even when my phone is in idle and why there are no numbers in CpuSpy.
I am from the UK and have just got an HTC Android phone.I have a data usage limit of 500 MB per month on my ty UK network.
I got the My Data Manager app to track my data use and at the top every time (of mobile data not wifi obviously) is 'Calendar Storage'. It uses up stupid amounts of data every day.
I have gone through all my accounts that are synced to my device (facebook, gmail,GMX,linkedin etc) and I have disabled the calendar sync for all of them that have the option available. Yet it still shows as using data every day on calendar storage.
Whenever I receive or send an SMS the CPU usage goes up to 90%-100% for like 5 seconds and then returns to low usage. At first I thought it was a problem with Handcent and after uninstalling and using the stock messaging program it does the same.
how to get the battery usage per application.I want to implement battery usage per application in code. So I need idea how I should work to get this. I am not searching for app shows battery usage. I want to implement one such app.
how the Apps affect Battery usage. I'm using a Note 2 with the latest OS.
So, I wanted to know if the apps are still using battery power when I switch screens? When I press the center (home) button, it shows me thumbnail list of all the apps, areas I've been to or used. I can select and remove them from the list. I am wondering if they are still using battery power until I remove them from the list. If this does tend to use extra battery power, is there an app out there that will definitely turn off the app when I am not using it?
I just don't know how Android manages Memory/power. It just seems that I can watch my battery power decrease, even when it's not being used.
I've been out of the Android game for awhile now. My first smart phone was an HTC Inspire and after that I jumped to the iPhone 4S. Well now I decided to go back to Android and I picked up a Galaxy S5 since I was impressed with my wife's S3. Love the phone, but I have one question that I can't quite figure out.
The AT&T Galaxy S5 has 16GB of memory. The available memory is a little over 10GB due to all of the bloatware and OS files, of course. Well I went out and purchased a 64GB MicroSD card and expanded that bad boy greatly. I moved any apps that I can over to the SD card and all of my music is over there as well. Well, here is the problem.
Out of the 10+ gigs available on the device (not SD), I only have 4GB free and 7.5GB used. I should not have that much space being used AT ALL. If I look at the My Files app, the graph shows that I only have 2GB of app data and no documents, 4mb audio (the rest on SD), video, ect. I only have 33mb of photos. I should have no more than 2.4GB used total. What could possibly be taking up so much space?
