View 1 Repliesi have tried nearly ever single application on the market that claims to block private numbers but it none of them work for me... Idk if its because of the Sprint service or the applications just dont work. I know GBlocker blocks the calls. But it dont block the texts, or prevent it from going to voicemail. Nor does it block private calls. There was this other one I had that blocked calls too but same thing with GBlocker. What i dont understand is that if you choose the option "BLOCK ALL CALLS" it will then block private calls. But the option to just block the private calls fails to work. Is there anything out there that actually works? I have considered buying extreme blocker for $5 but whats the point if it might not work? When blocked numbers call, i dont want their voicemails. Nor do I wanna know their calling.

Has anyone found any good call blockers to prevent unknown callers from junking up your voicemail? I've heard about GBlock and aFirewall but they're not complete solutions. looking for something that shuts down an unwanted caller with NO voicemail option. Even better - an app where you put in the numbers you wish to accept and have anyone else who calls in get rejected instead of having to enter numbers you want to have blocked.

My requirement is to block only "Incoming" calls from a list of pre-selected numbers but I would like to allow everything other then incoming calls.
I am using my phone's default way to reject all calls, but any time someone calls they hear a small ring and then operator message saying
"The Number You Have Called Is Busy...", So the caller understands that I am rejecting the call and expects a call back.
If the message after rejecting a call is like "Switch Off" or something else I am fine.
Required "Incoming Call Barring" , because I spoke with my operator regarding incoming calls barring password but I was told that it is phone feature so I needed to contact handset manufacturer for this and I got the same answer from HTC that it is a network feature so I need to contact service provider.
The one thing I miss from black berry is I could make my # private, I use my phone for business and take calls for after hours issues, there are times where I dont want people to have the #, I cant figure out how to do this on my Incred, is there an App

Nokia has this option as default but I am not aware of this feature on my Desire S.
Often I'll be busy browsing or writing a message or whatever and I'll be interrupted by the full-screen incoming call display.
I'm looking for something that automatically puts incoming calls in the background, ideally just in the notification bar or something without interrupting the current app.
It's particularly annoying when I'm writing a message in Opera for example and an incoming call wipes the message because Opera doesn't have a proper restore state.
I don't want to block calls all together, just make them less intrusive.
I found a program called backgrounder, but it didn't seem to work, and from the youtube video I saw of it, a full screen still appears to pop up on an incoming call.
I'm looking for a replacement for the Motorola Blur Notes widget. I don't think this exists as an app, just a widget. Since updating to CM9, I have this 4x2 gaping hole where I used to be able to press and type, and what I typed would sit there. I don't want a text editor (I have a few), and I don't want a to-do list (don't need one). Just something to jot down notes on the home screen.

I am using ICS with Nova Launcher.I miss the old bookmark widget in Launcher Pro Plus, I used it in text only mode with a transparent skin and it looked good.
The bookmark widget that comes in ICS is ok but I want something with just a scrollable list of the bookmark names. I have looked at a few different apps on the market and they are mostly thumbnails of the webpage.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have the screen locked. I get a call and I can still answer it and see the number and contact without unlocking the screen. This might be the same for texts, not sure yet.
I did some Googling and there seems to be a setting that can change how much the screen lock blocks. I think I checked everywhere in the phone but don't see this option. It's a ZTE AWE phone with jelly bean.
There's aparently simple ways to bypass screen lock if a phone's lost, but I still want it fully locked.
How to intercept incoming calls by adding a prefix like 19299 on incoming, and * on outgoing.
I have built and compiled an .apk file witch force closes for no apparent reason on launch. When compiled it compiles without any errors.
Is it even possible to monitor incoming calls on public API level? Or is that an API that is closed off? if the API is available, is it then possiblo to add said prefix both on incoming and outgoing calls?
I've got this issue where incoming calls and texts are not matching to the contacts database when the international format is used (so incoming 01202 123456 matches if the number is stored in the phone book as 01202 123456 but not if it's +441202 123456)
Seems it's quite common with ROMs / Phones from China.
My phone is a Cube 5H A5300 (a remarkably good bit of kit for the money if I could fix this dam issue) , Android 4.2.1, and MIUI 3.11.15. I don't think this is a MIUI issue hence posting here. :-
Changing the MIN_MATCH in framework.jar and MMS.apk, and checking that strict comparison if odd from here http:
So I'm at a lost to know where to go next. where number matching is handled in Android? Where can I look for places to check ?
As the subject asks, why does it drain the phone so much? On my nokia symbian phone, it is connected to my asterisk box 24/7 over wifi and will last for days.
My galaxy nexus will drain out in hours if connected via wifi to my asterisk box. The SIP qualifys are every 60 seconds.
How to get decent battery life for incoming SIP on ICS?
A somewhat related question I have; does any app that will enable incoming SIP only when on wireless?
I have an Android device where the default is for the Notification bar to be off so you cannot drag it down. I want to write a simple program that turns the notification bar back on so you can drag it down to view the notifications. If someone could show me the code to do that.

I'm using GV for texting and want to completely drop my texting plan but also don't want to get hit with loads of texts coming to the wrong number. Is there just a way to prevent incoming texts altogether?
Obviously, I plan to send out a couple of "notices" of the change of number BUT you know how some people are...they just won't change the number and forget by the next time they try to text me...LOL (well sort of!) I don't want to pay per text. That could get expensive FAST!
