View 1 Replies View RelatedDoes anyone have a bead on a well-performing, well-design app that I can store personal data/info with in a secure fashion? Specifically, I want to store information such as my kid's Kaiser ID numbers, doctor's names, etc... but it has to be secure. Poking around in the Market hasn't really turned up any great options for me so I thought I'd turn to the community for suggestions.

View 1 Replies View RelatedOther than just being spyware or something? Lately I've been afraid to download a lot of apps for these reasons. I can't figure out why a game for example would need access to my contacts list, or a launcher have to look at my call history.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI would have thought that a firmware update via Kies would preserve user data, contacts, apps I paid for from the market, phone settings etc. But after going from I9000DXJF4 to I9000DXJG4 using that appalling excuse for software (Kies) I have a completely empty device with just stock standard apps. No warnings to click through about wiping data, no strange error messages on the device. Is this normal? If so I might as well put my SIM card back in my iPhone until there is a consensus build of Froyo out for the Galaxy S as re-downloading and resyncing everything each time.

View 10 Replies View RelatedMy wife convinced me to get an xperia X10 because she loves hers so much. My previous phone was a Palm Centroid and I needed a new phone because the power button was very difficult to activate. On my Sandro, I was able to create a personal apps folder of the apps I use the most. The Quick Start guide that came with my phone has two pages explaining basic functions. One box shows being able to Move/Delete Icons, but it only shows how to delete them. Use the long Touvh to move it to the trash can icon. But I don't want to delete them, I want to move or copy them to a personal apps folder.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have been wondering over the last few days since getting an Android phone and trying to configure it to make it at least as productive as my previous smartphone. How secure is the information in a world where we put a large amount of personal info behind google-id and password? This id and pwd is plugged into the phone for functionality. We browse the Android Market for necessary apps provided by complete strangers and click Install. We click OK when caution is raised, with unknowing consequences and taking complete responsibility for the installation. Am I justified in being paranoid with Android model of doing things?
Please read the thread "ActiveSync for Android, Moment?" to understand better why I raise this question.
