General :: Nexus 7 - Saving Then Viewing Email Photo Attachments

Sep 30, 2012

I have a Nexus 7 tablet. After I "View" and then "Save" photos received as attachments from Gmail, the thumbnail icons appear in Gallery but I can't thereafter open them. When I go into Gallery and touch the photo thumbnail, all I get is a black screen. The file's thumbnail icon in the Gallery is a generic icon and not the usual small thumbnail of the photo itself.

How do I view photos downloaded or saved to the Gallery? I haven't changed any Settings which may or may not affect viewing.

General :: Viewing / Editing And Saving Lens Blur Photos

May 2, 2014

After I take a lens blur photo using the Google Camera app, I can swipe to the right to view the photo and adjust the blur. After I select "done," the photo updates with my blur options. However, when I exit the camera and view this photo using Google Photos, the lens blur options I chose are not there and it's not possible to edit the lens blur. It seems I have to open the camera and swipe right in order to see the lens blur effects.

-Can I only adjust lens blur options within the camera app itself?
-Can I only view the lens blur effects within the camera app?

if seems this is a waste of the lens blur feature. After I make adjustments to the blur and select done, that's the image that should be saved and viewable by Google Photos, Gallery, and backed up to Google+.

HTC Hero :: Viewing Facebook Photo Albums

When I open a friend's album it shows the thumbnails and once I click on a picture it brings up a (flash looking) photo viewer window. This doesn't allow you comment, like, or view comments on the pictures. Is there a different way to view these, am I missing something?

General :: Nexus 7 - Saving PDF Files?

Jun 12, 2013

I have two questions regarding my Nexus 7 and pdf files. I tried to save a pdf attached to an e-mail, and was asked to choose btween Kindle and Quick Office and whether to make the choice permanent or one time. I mistakenly chose Kindle+permanent. Now the only way I can access the pdf is to go to the saved email and click the attachment. Then I get linked to Kindle which opens the pdf. Needless to say that is a lot of unnecessary selection. I tried to find the pdf file with File Manager but could not locate it. I tried to create a bookmark to the email, but could not do that either. So my questions are:

1. How do I undo the permanent choice of Kindle?

2. If I cannot do that, how do I create a link or shortcut or bookmark to the email so I can get to it quickly?

3. How do I find the folder to which the pdf was saved?

General :: Saving Sent Email (stock App)?

May 22, 2014

Using the stock email app on 4.1.2 (and before I realized there was an option to send a bcc to myself) I sent several emails through Rogers while set up using pop instead of IMAP. So right now I have a number of sent emails that aren't on the server.

I don't want to lose the messages, and while I have figured out that you can open the sent folder, and then individually open and save a copy of each email, I don't want to do that (and it doesn't save the attachments either). I thought maybe I could select them all and forward at once, or save at once, or move them to another folder to sync with the server...

I thought maybe K-9 would have an option I could use, but I can't figure out how to import the settings from the stock app.

There must be a way to do this besides the one-by-one saving?

Android :: Way To Refresh Gallery After Saving Photo In Droid?

Jun 7, 2010

I have an application where I want to have the ability for the user to save one of the photos they are viewing to their phone locally. I got saving working, and now I want to automatically refresh so they don't have to turn off their phone before it shows up in the gallery. I googled around and saw this: sendBroadcast(new Intent(Intent.ACTION_MEDIA_MOUNTED, Uri.parse(Environment.getExternalStorageDirectory().getAbsolutePath() ))); I tried doing that, but it didn't refresh for me. Does anyone have any ideas?

General :: Resize Photo Before Sending Email?

Aug 19, 2011

Ok, I am sure this has been discussed... BUT One of the really nice things about iOS is the option to choose size of photo before email is sent.

I hate sending 2-3MB emails.

It is one of the few things iOS has going for it IMO.

I like taking High Res pics, but I shouldn't have to resize the master pic before sending... It is too many steps.

Has no one made the app to allow more of this iOS experience?

I've hit my first real usability snag with the G1.I tried to send a word processing file to someone via the gmail client on the G1 today, and found that I could select only photos and no other file type for attachments. So I fired up the browser and went to the desktop version of the gmail web site, and in the composition window, the button under the attachments section is captioned "Uploads Disabled" instead of the usual "Browse."Does anyone have a workaround for emailing non-jpeg attachments? This is a feature that I need to use on practically a daily basis. Any developers out there working on an email client, please support this feature.
