General :: Mozilla Aurora - Get ICS Support For Flash On Firefox?
Jan 28, 2012
i just got my GNexus a few days ago and im totally back into the android scene already! Gots me some AOSP rom on it and root :P
Anyways, i tried out firefox / fennec now that my phone should be quick enough to use it properly (unlike my G1 ) and i realized it doesnt support flash. So according to mozilla wiki, it is only supported on 2.3, and on a bugreport i read that it isnt planned to be supported on 3.0 / 4.0, due to adobe dropping support on flash.
Anyways, i am wondering how hard it would be to get ICS supported for flash on firefox? I tried putting the flashlib in the plugin folder of aurora, etc. didnt work of course, since it's a problem in the sourcecode.
I realised that on youtube, flash seems to work! It doesnt actually display a flash missing warning or anything like that, on all the other sites.So i was wondering if that is actually a flash implementation or a custom youtube player by mozilla right there? I don't have an IDE with all the fennec stuff set up, so i can't check on that.

Firefox flash video seems to be broken, while dolphin's still works on 4.4. Any way around this while still using Firefox? I thought Firefox had flash built into it, but I guess not. This guide no longer works: URL....

I have tried several methods mentioned on internet to gain root access on my G'Five Aurora mobile, but it does not root. I tried SuperOneClick, UnlockRoot Pc application, different rootme.zip and batch scripts. I also tried manually root but it does not worked for me.
The specifications of this mobile are as follows;
Model Number: GFIVE Aurora
Android Version: GFIVE-4.0
Baseband version: 2.3.1.P8.edn15
Kernerl version: 2.6.35.7+ gfs@gfss #1
Build number: Aurora-V1.0-2012.08.08
Recovery is: android system recovery <3e>
The recovery denies to install any update saying either the package is not signed or fail to verify signature.how do I root it. It comes with 200MB internal memory which is insufficient to install no. of applications. I wish to move APPs to SD card extended partition. It is a duel SIM phone and I want to confirm weather some updated ROM would work with 2 SIM cards.

Provide the necessary link if I have missed a thread for this topic;
1] I presume Flash Lite is shipped & working with the Legend...?
2] Any news on 'full fat' Flash 10.1 support? Adobe seem [?] to suggest a snapdragon processor is required, is this still the case?
Will we ever see Flash 10.1 on the Legend?

I'm able to pull up a site which has a Flash 10 object and it works no problem.
I thought I needed Froyo (2.2) and the Adobe Flash Beta App to get this working.
In fact, on my 2G Nexus One, that is what I had to do to get it working - upgrade to 2.2 when I found the link to the manual installer, and then install the Beta Flash App.
The site in question is www.juniper.net - the main image in the center is an animated flash 10 object, at least that's what it says in FireFox when I right click on it..

Just found this link to an apk that claims to port over the working full flash program from 2.2 to work with 2.1. From reading the comments, it appears it only works with HTC phones because of the flash lite already on them. I installed it, and tested a few sites and it seems to work great. I didn't to a test before I installed it to see what sites didnt work. ANyway, here's the link if anyone wants to experiment. Adobe Flash 10.1 full support for Android 2.0 and 2.1 Download and install apk.

One of the main reasons I went with a android phone instead of an iPhone is the flash support. But it seems my vibrant doesn't really have full flash support. I could not watch a "flip" video from my email. I got a flash media player error message. Is there anything I can do about this or just have to wait for android 2.2? Will froyo provide full flash support?

I wasn't that excited over Flash 10.1 support since I seen it on the Motorola Droid (hadn't yet seen it on the Nexus One) and just out of curiosity I went to espn.go.com (the nonmobile version) and went to a video..."Tiger Woods tied for first place". I can't believe how good this looks. No lag, no hickups, perfect. It looks the same as it would on my computer.

Some websites require to use Firefox and install JAVA or plugins to play movies. But when I use Chrome to open these webs and click on the guided link to download JAVA, it told me that there is no suitable version yet.
When I use Firefox to open these webs, it said there are no plugins, and didn't tell me what plugins.But I can open these movies on webs using android 3.1 or lower.
So, is it because ICS 4.0.3 hasn't supported to open webs which require JAVA or there are other ways to open these movies?

How one of the biggest news about eclair coming out in 2010 is that support for Flash 10 (or ANY Flash for that matter) will be built into it. This does not appear to be the case for the fact that I download all the latest source code for Eclair, built and installed Eclair onto my development phone over the Christmas break and to my surprise/ disappointment there is absolutely no support for Flash when I try to view with the browser. I tried plugin's and searching for missing .apk installs for Flash but I found nothing. Unless I am missing something (i.e. maybe a side tree build for flash?) and if I did then I apologize but from what I can tell as of now the Eclair build does and will not support flash.

I'm sure that this has been asked before, but after searching the forum I came up with some older posts regarding flash player (obviously not released at that point). Anyways, I received my HTC Incredible and noticed that it has full flash support, but my brother's HTC Eris does not. Is there any release for flash for the Eris or does it have to wait until the full release?
