General :: Micro SD Not Read By Android / Format From NTFS To FAT32

Feb 5, 2013

Running 4.2.1 Supernexus on an i9100, I had a 32GB Micro SD card in the phone and when I had it connected to my computer I formatted it, except I foolishly set the format to NTFS. Now android won't read it (doesn't show up in storage) nor will it mount it when connected via USB so I can't put it back to FAT32/exFAT

Installed Paragon's NTFS mounting tool which mounts the drive but it's still not showing up in storage or being mounted via USB.How can I format it back to FAT so it will be read by windows and/or android? I'm surprised there is no SD Card formatting apps out there.

General :: 64gb Micro SD Write Protected / Read-Only After Flashing ROM

Feb 10, 2014

I have a M919V Galaxy S4 which is compatible with both the i9505 roms and M919 (TMO) roms. I was on a i9505 TW rom and I decided to download a rom from the TMO section. When moving from a i9505 rom to a M919 rom, I had to flash the recovery corresponding to the model. So I downloaded the T-Mobile version of Philz Recovery, but I got a status 7 error. Then I downloaded the md5 version and flashed it via odin 3.07. It was successful. After flashing the recovery, I flashed Beanstalk rom for the t-mobile variant. Everything went fine until I tried to make a android of my current setup for Beanstalk. I kept getting errors. When I plug my phone in (with my sd card), and try to add or delete something, it say "remove write protection and try again". So I tried connecting my sd card to my sd card adapter. When I delete files from my adapter, the error message doesn't show up. BUT... after disconnecting and reconnecting it again, the files are back where they were. I tried reformatting it but nothing happens. It seems like my sd card is only read as write protected when connected to my phone but it has no idea which state it's in when connected to the sd card adapter.

HTC Incredible :: Can't Transfer / Read Files On 32gb Micro SD Card

Jun 24, 2010

From what I was told, the Inc supports 32gb microsd card. So I ordered a Sandisk one...class 4. I got it and tested it out. It seems like it can transfer/read small files....but anything big it wouldn't read properly. It's funny cuz a movie file would transfer and play...but if I delete it and transfer the same exact file over, it wouldn't play. Or if I transfer music, some files play and some wouldnt. And some even would merge into one file. Like one song would play and then all sudden another song would POP up like what a DJ does when they mix songs together.

I know I might have a defected one but this is a legit Sandisk card. So what else could be the problem? Should I transfer the file one or slower so the card can read it....is there a way or procedure to using a 32gb MicroSd card? Lol. I mean I have a 16gb right now and it reads and transfers fine. With the 16gb I can literally drag a folder of 10 movies and it would be fine.

General :: Using Micro SDHC Cards In Tablet Micro SD Media Slot

Apr 17, 2013

Most of the specs for tablets which have a micro SD media slot do not give any details about it. I'm generally wondering if a slot labelled "microSD" will accept a micro SDHC card (as opposed to a micro SD card). I know, for example, that some older memory card readers won't read the SDHC cards, even if they have an SD slot. I'm not sure about the tablets however.

Example of some of the tablets that I'd be interested in knowing this about are: Acer Iconia A700 or A210, and Toshiba Excite.

Android : Feature Request/query - Possible To Read Java Properties Format Files For I18n Strings

Sep 14, 2009

I have an application which we are writing to be both a MIDP application using LWUIT as well as an Android application.

We attempt to share as much common code as possible between the two platforms.

I'd also really like to be able to share the localization strings when possible.

Reading through the docs in:

http://developer.android.com/guide/topics/resources/resources-i18n.html

It looks like Android uses an XML format to specify name-value pairs, e.g.:

{{{ <string name="go_online_message">You are currently offline. Go online? This will use the data network</string> }}}

General :: Data2SD Script That Supports FAT32?

Jul 5, 2012

I use Link2SD on a stock ROM, so my second SD card partition is a FAT32 partition, rather than an ext partition (the stock ROM doesn't support ext partitions). Link2SD does not however link the app data to the SD card, only the apps themselves. What I am wondering is if there is any data2SD script I can install easily alongside Link2SD that will move/allow me to move my apps' data to the 2nd FAT32 partition on my SD card? I have found that the app data takes up about 70MB of my internal storage, which leaves me with only about 40MB free.

I just got a Nexus 4 and have found to my despair that it doesn't have Mass Storage Mode due to the sdcard becoming integrated with normal data.

I really want Mass Storage mode, as I use my phone as a memory stick for various educational purposes, including running various executables directly from the Mass Storage.

Is it possible to create a 1GB, or so, FAT32 partition from the normal ext4 space and allow that to be mounted as Mass Storage?

Sprint HTC Hero :: "Format Read" Message When Connected

Jan 13, 2010

The P4100DVD however when connected just says "format read" and will stay there. Just trying to figure out if there is a work around to get the USB cable to work with the P4100DVD?? I miss being able to control the music on my phone from the receiver. That is why I am not using the AUX jack. I have also tried turning the USB debugging on and off on my Hero. I know the USB works. I plugged in a thumb drive and it read the music fine.

General :: Way To Use New SD Micro In Android

Oct 4, 2013

I had switched my sd micro card in my phone to retrieve pictures from my moms phone. She also had a cricket phone which had a larger mb, sd card that she wasn't using due to her getting a new phone, sd card so I put her sd card she wasn't using from the cricket phone and I put it in my phone and took my original sd card from my phone and put away for now. I went to try to install a app and it said it needed rooted so I goggled for a root app and downloaded it and after it loaded I wasn't really sure what to do with it. But then it let me use that app I wanted to install before rooting so it may of done something to let that app work. After looking thru the internet forums someone said to ES file explore and it shows a bunch of folders that is on the /mnt/sccard-ext and on the /mnt/sdcard .

What I would like to do is to put my original sd card that came with my LG Optimus Dynamic LG-L38C. When I put that sd carn into my card reader it shows this list of folders .android _secure, audio, brew, diag, download, image, LOST.DIR, other, video

How do I go about switching out to put the original sd card back in? Is there anyting I need to do before hand? Would I need to turn off the phone and switch out the cards if the phone was rooted? And after putting the original sd card back in, would it be a good idea to do a factory data reset?
