General :: Launcher - Get Apps Page To Scroll Vertically?
Jan 11, 2014
The default for apps on my mostly stock android is the screen to be moved left, left, left, for app browsing. I'd like to try it just scrolling vertically, would I need a launcher for that? If so, any recs for the most simple elegant intuitive launcher that might do that?
Are there any launcher out there that have a vertical scrolling screen so I can put all my widgets on one screen then just scroll up and down that one screen? I know Espier Launcher can do it, but the problem with that one is that I can not resize widgets.
I have a WebView widget in my app that displays custom HTML content. The code is really simple - the class that handles the layout also implements the WebViewClient methods. It loads the html data into the WebView. The app works well on all OS's except Froyo. On Froyo the WebView doesn't respond to vertical scroll event it can scroll horizontally though.I had a onFling event listener - which has been disabled, but still no luck.
I've got a ViewPager and a TextView inside it. When content of TextView is larger then it is visible on screen, there shall be possibility to scroll it vertically. But it does not do this automatically. Here is an xml for TextView
Samsung GS II, I9100, international version running Android 4.04. Latest version of GO Launcher. Running GO Windows theme.
I cannot figure out how to add a new home page. I'm at ten right now. If I use Settings/Edit to get the multiple page view of home screens, there is no plus sign to add a home page. I must be missing something.
Have similar threads >(URL>...)I am looking for an alternative to GO launcher.I have not upgraded my GO launcher since 3.11 due to bloatware.I would like to ask is there any launcher that allows custom sorting of apps inside the folder? For e.g i have created a folder called Games in the app drawer and would like to custom the games sort them instead alphabetical order.
I am trying to pull up a page that is a search screen. My friends can pull up on iphone but I have tried multiple browsers on my Droid X and it won't let me scroll to the bottom of the page, which is where you would enter a search. the page is Browse View Frame page. I have tried the stock browser and Dolphin.
I have a ScrollView, inside of it there is a TextView, and there are two buttons for PageUp and PageDown in the other part of the layout. When I click on PageDown, I want to see the text in the TextView to scroll down one page. How could I do it?
On the iPhone, safari strips out scrollbars on divs that have overflow set to auto or scroll, but still lets the user scroll with the two-finger swipe gesture.
Using an HTC Incredible, we see the scrollbars are again missing, but we cannot figure out any gesture that allows the user to scroll. Is there a special directive we need to add to our HTML? This should affect zillions of websites, any time someone is trying to scroll an area of the page rather than the whole page. Does anyone know how to enable scrolling a div using the web browser on Android phones?
Sometimes when scrolling down on a page (using my finger to scroll) the page will scroll all the way to the bottom of the page with a single flick of the finger. Am I unintentionally doing a specific gesture with my finger that causes this to happen? Or is this just a bug at this point?
I have ADW launcher & Launcher pro installed but i can't seem to find them in the apps menu. If i push home it used to show all three launchers( adw,LP & sense) but now my home button only shows my scenes.
I have created a php webpage. I now want to create a launcher application in android phone, it simply opens the browser with the url "http://<mywebsite>/m".I use uri intent to launch the browser in onCreate function.I execute this program in my G1 phone (Cyan Mod 5). However, when I click the "Home" key, and then re-enter my application through Task list, I lose focus for my last started browser, and the screen blank.Should I need any code in onResume function to re-focus my web!?
I had to restore my phone and I am missing some applications. Is there a way that I can tell on Go Launcher which apps these are? The default Android icons are showing in the pages and folders where they would go but when I tap them it doesn't do anything since the apps are missing. Is there some XML file or something where the page configurations are stored?
Just got a Galaxy Skyrocket (jumped ship from iPhone 4) and switched the launcher to Go Launcher EX. However, I noticed that I can't exit/quit some of the apps by choosing the "close" option for the running app. In Go Launcher, you can get a list of (background) running apps and if you tap the icon of an app, you get a pop-up with options "close", "lock', "goto", and "info". I would think by choosing "close', it would "exit" or "quit" the app, and clear the memory footprint. However, for some apps, like Facebook, Tweeter (actually TweetCaster), etc.--they will disappear for a while and come back again. So the "close" action does not really "kill" the app.
How can I really kill the app? I don't want Tweeter to be constantly running in the background and pulling down hundreds of tweets.
Also how can I stop some apps, e.g. Facebook, from pre-loading? I don't want these apps running in the background eating up the resources when I don't need them. There must be a way, Just haven't figure it out yet.
The other night, something updated on my HTC One (running Venom with GoLauncher EX) and the icons got all jacked-up. Some Google apps reappeared on the dock, a widget got pushed on top of another, etc. It looks like when the Google apps updated, they felt the need to reinstall themselves on the dock -- not sure, but that's not my main question.
When all of this happened, I lost the "grid" looking icon that will show All Apps and I'm not sure how to get it back. At this time, I can only see the apps I've put on my "home" pages, and in order to see All Apps, I must do an "add" and browse that way.
I really like Smart Launcher and I'm just done customising it but everytime I open an app it just starts from the start.
I'm reading some stuff in Reddit Sync, I press the home button to quickly check another app and when I go back to Reddit Sync (or any other app) it doesn't resume from where I left. Of course I can open up my recents and go from there but I'm wondering if this behavior is normal?
When I install an app (which is typically via the Play Store) the app icon does not end up on my home screen. Or what I think Apex calls a drawer. Occasionally an app does appear there automatically, but perhaps a couple out of the 50 or so apps I've installed.
The only way I have found to get them onto my drawer (or home screen) is I have to hold my finder on the screen and the "Add to Home screen" menu pops up. From there I can select "Shortcuts" and from the top of that menu I can select "Apps". I can then select just ONE app to appear on my home screen. But the thought of doing this for every app doesn't make sense to me. Is there a way to get them there automatically?
Perhaps I am completely misunderstanding the concept of the home screens. I am switching over from iOS, and there one organises all apps on home screens. Perhaps on Android the home screen is not meant for storing and accessing all the app icons??
Basically I trying to setup a homescreen in which part of it can scroll vertically, but another part doesn't move. I currently have Lightning Launcher, which is great by the way, but I can only set it up so that the entire screen scrolls. I was thinking it would be nice for have a spot on the left side of the screen for favorite apps and maybe some widgets (I guess you could call it a "dock"), and on the right side of the screen have a scrolling list of the rest of my applications. Probably with 1/3 of the screen being the left portion and 2/3 being the right portion. Can this be done with Lightning Launcher? or any other launcher? and how?
I have tried everything and I can't seem to be able to get Month or Day of Month to align vertically as shown in the picture below.
Is this even possible? I know it is using the Week Bar, but I'm not so sure about the others. I can't figure out where the option is to make anything else besides the Week Bar go vertical like someone did in the picture below. Is this picture just a fake or what?
