I have ADW launcher & Launcher pro installed but i can't seem to find them in the apps menu. If i push home it used to show all three launchers( adw,LP & sense) but now my home button only shows my scenes.
In there, all the red parts contain tutorials on settings that don't actually work on my device, and for OCD sake, I don't want them appearing in my settings because of it. But simply cutting them out of that file will make the settings app crash whenever i open that menu
So question is: is there a way to hide these settings without impairing their functions?
I am a galaxy s2 gt-i9100 user and i use touchwiz launcher in landscape mode. I have edited my launcher to look like a tablet for my s2 but i wanted to know how to hide the dock from the launcher or move the app drawer icon on top right or bottom right. Is there a way to do this? Also i dont want to install a different rom or launcher.
i have a rooted and unrooted symphony w68( Android 4.2.2). Now all i want is to install a call recorder on both phones and hide the app from appsdrawer and uninstalitation menu and make it accessible by only advanced users.
Have similar threads >(URL>...)I am looking for an alternative to GO launcher.I have not upgraded my GO launcher since 3.11 due to bloatware.I would like to ask is there any launcher that allows custom sorting of apps inside the folder? For e.g i have created a folder called Games in the app drawer and would like to custom the games sort them instead alphabetical order.
I have a context menu that starts to do some calculations when you press one of the context menu items. While the calculations are made I have a progressbar that I want to show. The progressbar is called from the calculations() method. The problem is that I can only see the context menu while the calculations are being made and the phone is more or less frozen.
I am looking at a good way to hide apps from the list. I want the apps to be able to run (like Email) and do the sync, but not to display the icons in the list. I have seen that ICS comes with a "Disable" function for system apps, but it doesn't work for me because it also prevents the app from running.
I also want a way to launch the apps myself (through a hidden menu or command) at will.
I have tried things like Application Protection, which allows you to password protect the apps you want. However, since the icons are still there, it is still tempting for my kind to click and ask for the password.
I alredy made 3 Tabs, one with a list. I now want a menu to appear and stay when I switch to this tab. the same for example on iphone in the iPod, you always see the menu with title, interpret, lists etc. I can't figure it out.
I want to hide my application icon from main menu at the run time. I believe that a filter with category Launcher in the application's manifest file is responsible for the application's presence in the main menu. Is there any way to change the category at run time? or any other way to hide the icon from main menu?
I just bought a Note 2. The only reason I bought it because on iphone I wasn't able to hide my apps without jailbreaking. I was really looking forward to some on android market that would allow me to hide certain apps and password lock them along with password locking settings options. Yet I have not been able to find any. I have a few apps that I want to hide from my family and friends.
I would rather not root my phone as I am not that technically advanced!
New feature of ICS, "Recent Apps with thumbnails" is a privacy concern for me. As it shows my personal text messages in the thumbnail to people whom i handover my device. I have already locked message application but still ICS is able to capture a screenshot of it and displays it in Recent App history. Is there a way to bypass an application from Recent apps history?
i have a galaxy s2 gt-i9100 and i wanted to know how to hide Apps and Widgets tab in the app drawer and also make the app drawer fully transparent like the galaxy s5? I decompiled seclauncher2 but i dont know what file to edit
I had to restore my phone and I am missing some applications. Is there a way that I can tell on Go Launcher which apps these are? The default Android icons are showing in the pages and folders where they would go but when I tap them it doesn't do anything since the apps are missing. Is there some XML file or something where the page configurations are stored?
Just got a Galaxy Skyrocket (jumped ship from iPhone 4) and switched the launcher to Go Launcher EX. However, I noticed that I can't exit/quit some of the apps by choosing the "close" option for the running app. In Go Launcher, you can get a list of (background) running apps and if you tap the icon of an app, you get a pop-up with options "close", "lock', "goto", and "info". I would think by choosing "close', it would "exit" or "quit" the app, and clear the memory footprint. However, for some apps, like Facebook, Tweeter (actually TweetCaster), etc.--they will disappear for a while and come back again. So the "close" action does not really "kill" the app.
How can I really kill the app? I don't want Tweeter to be constantly running in the background and pulling down hundreds of tweets.
Also how can I stop some apps, e.g. Facebook, from pre-loading? I don't want these apps running in the background eating up the resources when I don't need them. There must be a way, Just haven't figure it out yet.
The other night, something updated on my HTC One (running Venom with GoLauncher EX) and the icons got all jacked-up. Some Google apps reappeared on the dock, a widget got pushed on top of another, etc. It looks like when the Google apps updated, they felt the need to reinstall themselves on the dock -- not sure, but that's not my main question.
When all of this happened, I lost the "grid" looking icon that will show All Apps and I'm not sure how to get it back. At this time, I can only see the apps I've put on my "home" pages, and in order to see All Apps, I must do an "add" and browse that way.
The default for apps on my mostly stock android is the screen to be moved left, left, left, for app browsing. I'd like to try it just scrolling vertically, would I need a launcher for that? If so, any recs for the most simple elegant intuitive launcher that might do that?
I really like Smart Launcher and I'm just done customising it but everytime I open an app it just starts from the start.
I'm reading some stuff in Reddit Sync, I press the home button to quickly check another app and when I go back to Reddit Sync (or any other app) it doesn't resume from where I left. Of course I can open up my recents and go from there but I'm wondering if this behavior is normal?
When I install an app (which is typically via the Play Store) the app icon does not end up on my home screen. Or what I think Apex calls a drawer. Occasionally an app does appear there automatically, but perhaps a couple out of the 50 or so apps I've installed.
The only way I have found to get them onto my drawer (or home screen) is I have to hold my finder on the screen and the "Add to Home screen" menu pops up. From there I can select "Shortcuts" and from the top of that menu I can select "Apps". I can then select just ONE app to appear on my home screen. But the thought of doing this for every app doesn't make sense to me. Is there a way to get them there automatically?
Perhaps I am completely misunderstanding the concept of the home screens. I am switching over from iOS, and there one organises all apps on home screens. Perhaps on Android the home screen is not meant for storing and accessing all the app icons??
