I have tried rooting using both the Regaw method and using the writeup from CCapasso. Using the Regaw method after Step 3 I get the error msg "cannot stat 'unrevoked': No such file or directory. Using the CCappasso method after Step 6 I get the msg: killed/data/local/asroot2/system/bin/sh.
I have downloaded the files and have them in C: drive I have turned on debugging I have unmounted the SD card I have installed HTC Sync I have phone on "charge only" when hooked to the computer
I've decided to try to Root for first time. At first it all worked amazingly. I used the:
DJDroid_v1.6.zip OS and 32.48.00.32U_5.11.05.14.zip radio file
A day later, I try to use my phone, swipe down, and get 100 messages saying:
"Sorry! The application com.android.phone has stopped working unexpectedly. Please try again."
I click: Force close, or Report, and another 100 messages pop up.In order to get out of this, I have to take out the battery. The only way for me to make the phone usable again is to re-flash the OS (Good thing i kept all the files on the SD card). I've had to do this 5x in the past 3 days.I'm wondering if it's just the ROM I used, or if I have a virus or something (i assume they exist for the android OS). I haven't formatted my SD card even the first time that I rooted. Think that could be an issue?
I have Samsung Galaxy mini and flashed it with stock Froyo 2.2 ROM but when I installed the ROM and I didn't find the Android MarketGoogle Play App, But I searched for this problem at google and the only solution for this problem is downloading the market apk file, And I downloaded and installed it but another problem appeared, When I open the market it gave me a force close Error
I am trying to decompile contacts.apk from my micromax a52. I tried from apk manager and apk multi tools but it is giving error.
Code: can't find framework resources for package of id:2.you must install proper framework files. now i installed framework files to my computer and also by using "pull dependencies from device". but still couldn't decompile it properly.it is also giving error during recompiling if i ignore those error and mod it.

OK, I used the suggested official unbranded RUU from Shipped ROMS to restore my SIM-free and unbranded Desire to stock but it seems that there are various things missing. I have no email widget and there is no Mobile Network toggle widget under Settings>Power control (in fact, there are none of the usual toggle widgets in there). It just seems to be missing other things that I can't put my finger on as well.I'm re-rooting to reset my battery stats anyway so can someone point me towards a file that is, without question, the right file for a UK unbranded and SIM-free Desire? Need to send it back to HTC when I get my Desire HD so they can sort my overheating issue out prior to selling it.

I followed the effen manual to flash a new ROM for my HCT Desire HD on Monday, December 12th with absolute success. However, I have lost the start up sound file and when I boot my android, it boots in quiet mode. I searched for a solution and found many threads explaining how to disable it, but very little on how to enable it.
The problem is when I open my SDcard and look in the media/audio/notifications all I have is a facebook.mp3 file, I do not have any other files that would allow for the start up sound to open on boot.
1. Is there a way to use the internal storage of the phone while rooted. Right now I am using 1.83 GB out of 1.83 GB data on my SD card and nothing on my internal memory. 2. When I was Stock I would delete all files on the SD card and the Internal Memory before re-formatting and doing a factory re-set so I made sure that only data that was needed was on the phone after the re-set. I am afraid to do this with the rooted phone because I know I placed files on their in order to be rooted. I am wondering what Files I can delete. 3. With the Text messages I am getting on MIUI. The time is incorrect. It is never the same. I got a text this am at 8:15 and then the next response I got said 4:13 am. The issue is then it moves the text behind other texts I have got since 4:13.
I have bought Ampe A10 i try to root it. I have run LiveSuit and try more of ***.img files. Everytime it stops at 3%. So I'm trying to put kali Linux onto my phone using the vnc way. I have the file (1gb zipped 3gb unzipped) I have 11gb of free space on my phone. I have to get that file over to /kali a folder I created using root explorer. Yes I am rooted with supersu. I mount the system as r/w and when I paste this file into that folder my phone crashes. Like it begins to do it (gets nothing done) and then crashes. I managed to get the zip file into the folder but when I try to extract it it crashes as well. This Also doesn't work on nexus 7 2013 running slimbean. Why can't I move that file there?
I am trying to route my HTC Hero (locked to Orange UK).Following jUsT2eXy's instructions :- 1)Download it. 2)Save it to your SD Card ROOT (not in any folders) 3)Open up a file manager on your phone (Download ASTRO File Manager from the marketplace..if you don't have a file manager..) 4)Find the 'InstantRoot.apk' file. 5)Run it. 6)It will say it's been successful Ok, so on step 4, I am opening ASTRO, clicking InstantRoot, clicking Open App Manager (other displayed option is Browse file), clicking Install (then Install again). It then displays 'Application installed'. However, I get a notification stating 'Install Root failed / Root access was not acquired'. What am I doing wrong? I installed Quantum Radicle v1.0 and all the provided bug fixes which were provided in this site.
But after installing the ROM the inbuilt music player, Gallery, Video Player (Walkman, Album, Movies) are not fetching the respective files from both internal SD Card (Phone Storage 2.08GB) and External SD Card that I have inserted. Then I tried other apps that are available in the market for the same purposes (Fusion, Photo Gallery, MX Player). But it was in vain. They too didn't fetch the files.
Everything else is working good except the automatic file fetching in such apps.
When going from 3.02 to 4.04 on the Spectrum, the phone pulls an updated file. The update file is this: (remove the spaces in the link. I don't have a high enough thread count to post links yet)
The file itself can be opened with WinRAR, but shows that it was signed by SignAPK.
My question is this, What should I theoretically need to do in order to inject root into this so that when the update runs on the phone, it adds SU to the system directory with the correct permission settings?
I accidentally deleted an android file through root, now my phone doesn't boot properly. All i get is "process com.android .setup wizard has stopped" and stays i idle in the black screen. Even i tried reseting the phone in recovery mode..
I bought an android 2.3.6 phone which no one has tried to root( it seems). So I was wondering if I could root it by creating an update.zip file containing the su binary and the superuser apk and then installing it in the recovery mode. Will this work? I have failed with gingerbreak, unlockroot and z4root.
Then I tried doing Toast's root and got confused at step 2 (the adb step). Now, I know a LITTLE about what ADB is and that you basically only need it so you can use your computer to type/see things instead of doing it all on your phone.
(This is the thread that I'm using by the way: [TUTORIAL] How To Root The HTC EVO ~ Part-1 / - xda-developers)
1. So, so far, I downloaded SDK package, saw the "tools" folder and see the "adb" file. When I click on it, it pops up like a "command/cmd" screen and disappears. Is it supposed to happen like that? Or am I doing something wrong?
2. Also, in Toast's method, when he says to put the PC36IMG.zip file on the root of your sdcard. What does he mean by that? I'm sure it's something simple but I'd rather be sure how to "put it in the root of your sdcard". Just that mean just right in the front by all the folders?
3. Next thing the page says is: "adb push PC36IMG.zip /sdcard" I don't know what he means by that. Am I supposed to do something here? The steps follow this (until it's Rooted) I understand but not this.
4. Then after rooting there are some other steps he has in the original thread that say somethings about "adb shell, adb.. etc"
I have a android tablet and I have tried rooting it and I get things like "read only file system" and I looked into it and my /system is read only.. Rooting is putting .su in the xbin or bin inside of the /system. But my /system is read only so i can't root my tablet?
