General :: Droid Bionic - Phone Randomly Playing Commercial Through Speakers?
Oct 31, 2012
My phone just randomly started playing a "commercial"? for some McAfee Deep something product, talking about phone secrutiy and stealth attacks and how attacks now start at the kernel level? There was no video playing, I was on my home screen while the sound was coming out.
I started closing apps 1 by 1 to see if it would stop. First I thought it was pulse, so closed it first, then Google Chrome and nothing. I ended up closing all of my apps and it was still playing!
It came with Android 4.2.2 , has an Cortex-A9 processor and Mali400 graphics card, 1920x1080 9" display and is generally really nice device.
I didnt expect the sound quality to be any good since it is just a handheld device but the quality is really awful and pretty much unlistenable. It makes weird noise while playing through the main speakers and when earphones pluggen in and listening to a song, the singer sound like he is singing underwater or I dont know.
My car isn't as new and fancy w/ aux inputs usb's etc for others w/o these luxuries, what are you using to play your music from your Evo thru your car? anyone try these or thoughts on em: Amazon.com: GOgroove FlexSMART X2 ADVANCED Wireless In-Car Bluetooth FM Amazon.com: Advanced Car Mount System FM Transmitter & Charger for first one looks decent worth the $$$? my music library on my phone is getting huge and would love to play it in the car.
I currently don't have a slow smartphone but when I had my original Droid it would really slow down until I put a new or updated rom on it. Even if I rebooted it it would still be slow. I now have the Droid Bionic and it's really fast but will it someday get slow? I guess I don't understand the smartphone technology very well, yet. Is there or will there be some sort of software that you can run that will speed it back up?
I took the video of my grandson swearing in to the U. S. Air Force on my Droid Bionic phone using COLOR and thinking I was broadcasting it live, but evidentally I was not. SO now I have it on my phone only and cannot find a way to share the video. I am deathly afraid it will get damaged or lost. His mom died in a homicide and needless to say this is a valuable piece of family memory to me to risk losing if the phone gets lost or damaged.
So i had my Droid Bionic (Verizon) rooted a few months back. A few weeks ago, there was an update for android firmware. I went from 2.3.4 to 4.0.4 without realizing I had to un-root my phone before.
The night I updated, my battery just so happened to run out in the middle of the night (the update was done in the morning, so the update process was obviously unaffected). I woke up to AP Flashboot Flash boot error. This was temporarily fixed with me just loading the fastboot menu and selecting Normal Powerup.
But now i would like to re-root my phone, and i was wondering if it is safe to just straight-up root it with my comp. And if im not specific enough, just let me know what information i have to include.
how to play music using the speakers. I connected the speakers to my phone and played music using the google music player and the sound still comes from my phone's built-in speakers and not to the connected one. I'm not sure if I'm using the correct jack but it seems to be the same size as the one on the phone's headset. How I can play music through the connected speakers?
Had this happen twice now. If I look at the Sense music player, it's not playing. Pandora isn't open. Nothing else is happening, just... music playing. Volume does nothing. Only way I could find to turn it off was by turning the phone off.
My Droid is randomly playing one of the songs in my music folder (always the same song). I have 2.0.1 loaded. Phone is from Verizon. In only plays thru the song once but I cannot figure out where it is coming from??
Any way to get rid of all of their garbage? (vz navigator, etc.. etc..) Just got the Bionic, first time ever having a smart phone. Looked for a few links, but so many people with wacky ways of doing things.
How to set up my internet connection but I am having some problems. When my services bars are blue, and it says 3G or 4G LTE next to it, I can connect to the internet, or if I am in a, area with wifi, I can connect to that. However, If I am not on wifi, and the service bars are grey (without 3G or 4G LTE written next to it), I can not connect to the internet, get my emails, etc. I have a DROID BIONIC.
I just got a new Droid Bionic last week. My brother got one about a week before me as well. I feel like his battery last so much longer than mine. What can I do to extend my battery life. I feel like he uses his just as much as me, but I feel like his last much longer. My first Bionic was defective and wouldn't charge past 40% so I returned it, and I feel like this one doesn't last as long as I want.
I have 8 gigs internal memory i can no longer open my pictures and the phone says my SD card is full. i didnt think the bionic had a sd card, my question is how do i move these pictures and videos over to my computer and or what else for my phone to work faster it seems to take for ever to start up?
When I had my Voyager, I could use my bluetooth earpiece to talk on the phone, and also get the audio from the Navigation to come through the earpiece. I was surprised tonight that when I was using my GPS on the Droid it didn't come through my earpiece which resulted in me turning my radio down significantly so I could hear the phone.
I also have a stereo bluetooth headphones that I already paired and see the icon on the screen, but when I play a video or some music, it doesn't come through the headphones. Its still coming out of the Droid's phone speakers. Its showing that it is connected in my notifications bar too.
My Droid Bionic is eating a big bowl of boot loops and i cant get out of it. im rooted and was trying to restore my phone as i had installed android 4.0.3. and during the process i accidentally removed safestrap and im stuck in the boot cycle. it shows the bionic boot logo then goes back to where it says : Droid" and then it repeats. i cant boot into recovery either.
I have been using my Bionic as my alarm clock since I got it. I have a dock at home, and the display stays on all night when docked. I also periodically dock my phone while at work, which also keeps the display on.
I realize that the phones are meant to be used and they wouldn't build these features into these phones if they were bad for them... right?
My question is this: How many people dock their phones and use them as alarm clocks, and have you ever encountered any problems with prolonged use and the brightness or sharpness of the screens?
I am concerned that I am wearing out my display by keeping it on all night while I am asleep.
I am having a bit of an issue with my bonic. I noticed today that my lens on my camera is broken and so now my camera will not focus. What I'm wondering is where can I buy a replacement? Because I really don't want to spend $100 to get a new one from verizon when this is something I can probably fix myself.
I have read many post on changing the boot audio along with the boot animation, but was unable to get it to work with my bionic so i did some foot work with my budy and we figured out how to change the boot audio on the droid Bionic.
1. Download and extract the bootanimation file.
2. Backup/Move your stock bootanimation file out of system/bin
3. Move the new bootanimation file to system/bin
4. Move selected audio (Must be mp3 format and named "android_audio") to system/media
What is the best way to sync iTunes music? I've been using DoubleTwist but it is just not working these days (especially after ICS update). I sync it and sync it and Playlists never appear. So I need something else. I'm mostly concerned about a Smart Playlist I have for podcasts, which would not sync with Google Play. So frustrating dealing with Doubletwist. I have Droid Bionic.
Why haven't the reviews talked about how freaking loud the loudspeaker is? Is it me but coming from the Pre and the HTC Touch before that - this thing is like a rock concert. Seriously - have I just been missing out or the speaker really is Loud compared to other phones?
