View 1 Replies View Relatedthere are a few people at XDA Forums claiming they have begun receiving an OTA update notification. Once applied it totally removed JI6 and reverted the phone back to the original stock firmware. Or so they claim. So I guess it is a downgrade update lol.I don't know if this is a hoax, or what is going on. I think it is best not to apply any OTA you get, just yet. Until people figure out what is going on, and why the downgrade is occurring. Maybe the phone is preparing for Froyo, downgrading first, in preparation for Froyo, but that makes no sense to me, why wouldn't it just be all done at once.If you get a strange update, let us know!I won't be applying any updates as of yet, I like JI6, and until I know why we are being downgraded, I'm not doing anything to my phone.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI rooted my device (Galaxy Nexus GSM / Maguro) weeks ago and switched from the stock OS to Cyanogenmod 10.
Some days ago I received the (so called "stable") update to 10.1 and installed it (gapps 121212 too).
Unfortunately, the stable 10.1 turned out to be rather unstable: Apps (Google Play Music, Skype, Youtube, SMS, ...) either crashed on device startup or as soon as the app was started.
SMS frequently froze the whole phone. The former rather fast and stable device became an unstable and failure-prone device
Installing diverse nightly builds didn't improve the situation, so I decidet to roll back to 10.0.
Again, a bad decision! After installing it, CM won't boot any more. I can see the boot-image (the circle of death, as I call it by now) and that's it!
I tried to reboot in recovery mode, but I cannot switch options with the volume keys. The only option I have is to boot into the broken system...
Below the android icon it reads: Downloading.. Do not turn off target!
Nexus Root Toolkit does'nt recognize it (neither as fastboot nor as adb device).
My computer system ist Windows XP SP 3.
BTW: I don't know if this Information is relevant: The Android-Icon in recovery mode is not a lying one with its belly open but the standard 2D-Android-icon. And, perhaps more grave: Due to security concerns, ADB was disabled in my (then working) Cyanogenmod-OS...

View 5 Replies View RelatedA few days ago I got the new Facebook UI with the built-in video player+auto-play, It's very laggy (every time it auto-plays videos) and it's impossible to download the videos. I really don't know what facebook developers thought when they decided to make such a terrible update. I want to downgrade to an earlier version that still have the option to choose a video player (and download the video) and more important without the auto-play function.

I would like to know if it is possible to upgrade/downgrade an android phone (samsung mostly) with official firmwares without the need to root? The reason is that some testing is needed on these devices and only with official firmwares it would be valid. And at will it would be nice to be able to switch versions for different test purposes.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have configured my Samsung Galaxy S using my normal Gmail account. This has helped me to sync the Google Contacts with my phone.
Following are my questions:
1. Right now I have about a thousand google contacts synced to my phone. I want to remove them at one go. I know how to disable them from being appearing in contact list, but I want to know if I can delete them without going to factory settings.
2. I am using three applications (a) Gmail (b) Contacts (3) MVOIP. I want to know if there is a way that following combination works:
a- Google contacts appear on Gmail app
b- Google contacts (with phone numbers) and normal phone contacts appear on "Contacts"
c- Google contacts (with phone numbers) and normal phone contacts appear on "MVOIP application".
I know how to do
(a) - By synchronising google contacts,
(b) - by choosing display options
(c) - I do not know how to handle this and I want help.
