I replaced my HTC Evo 4G with another one. (Bad charging port). It was rooted and everything was backed up with Nandroid, Clock work mod, Titanium,a root backup and on my computer.I was running the Synergy rls1 Supersonic rom.I cant seem to find an updated Root. Unrevoked tells me that my Firmware is too new.I've also tried a few manual roots, but it seems my phone is too new. Can I use a Samsung phone update?
So there is very little documentation on the PX102 online as of yet, let alone AOCOS products in general (at least on english sites which I have scoured). First off, I'm currently using OSX 10.6.8 and have the current Android developer tools package that was downloaded from their site about three hours ago (just to be clear). The PX102 is running 4.1.1 and the tablet is a fresh restore (I had a number of apps downloaded but considered that some may have been interfering...).
I will be attempting to root via psneuter exploit from SuperOneClick v2.3.3, however in the terminal when I execute "adb devices" it returns "List of devices attached" with blank space underneath...
I have tried to kill/restart server, run "adb usb", and a couple other small things to no avail. Yes, usb debugging mode is enabled as well.
I would really like to attempt/execute this all via OSX, however name an OS and I have it at my disposal...
Well i am wondering am i able to root my moto driod 2.2 stock never been rooted . Because i absoultely hate the new update the only thing that is good about it is the Flash and i wanna root my moto driod 2.2 . But my freind says there is no way to do it because if he did he would on his Sprint HTC Evo and they haven't came out with it yet. So am i wondering am i stuck with this dreadful 2.2 or can i root.
I updated to Froyo really early along on my DX and am pretty sure I'm using the first leak still. My phone constantly locks up/overheats and I have to battery pull to get it working again. I would like to get the most updated Froyo which hopefully doesn't lock me up anymore and also root it again.
What is the best way to do this without actually knowing which version of Froyo I am using? I don't mind losing all of my data and starting over, but the locking up is just becoming way to frequent. I have it in my head that if I flash back to 2.1 stock and do the OTA, then do the root again it would be much smoother. Am I on the right track? I really stepped away from the root scene for a while after I rooted mine so I am lost.
I haven't tried this, just passing it along. If/when you have experience with this root method, please post in this thread.
Current as of 10/12/2010 For all phones except: Sprint EVO 4G (HTC Supersonic) Droid Incredible (HTC Incredible) HTC Desire GSM HTC Desire CDMA (HTC BravoC) HTC Aria Droid Eris (HTC DesireC) HTC Wildfire (HTC Buzz)
How To: Root Your Android Phone (SuperOneClick Method) | TheUnlockr UPDATED: Here is a video guide showing how to install custom ROMs after rooting your device. How To: Load a Custom ROM on Your Android Phone (After Any One Click Root Methods) | TheUnlockr
I have been gone for awhile with life stuff, sorry this wasn't updated. I wont be updating this as I don't have an Eris anymore, but if you want the best info head over to XDA Eris Android Development section. Or if your looking for Android News or other tech news head over to: Hope to see you all in the Incredible or Droid X section. Remember.... ?Never take a person's dignity: it is worth everything to them, and nothing to you.? 2.1 LEAKS & RELEASES & ROOT
I think it's getting confusing w/ all these releases. Let's summarize:Original root: Filename PB00IMG.zip. An "unofficial official" ROM that provides you with initial root. Can only be flashed from a phone running 1.5. Not to be confused with any of the "unofficial official" 2.1 leaks that don't have root. 2.1 leak: Filename PB00IMG.zip. Also an "unofficial official" ROM that upgrades your 1.5 phone to a 2.1 un-rooted OS. New 2.1 leak: Filename PB00IMG.zip. Another "unofficial official" ROM that upgrades your 1.2 or "2.1 leak" phone to the most recently available un-rooted version of Android 2.1. ** By "unofficial official" I mean that the ROM's are signed by HTC and must be installed from the phone's bootloader. We cannot edit and repack files to be loaded using the phone's stock bootloader, as we cannot sign these ROM's ourselves...........
I'm supposed to be on figure no. 40 in the Universal Eris Root for Dummies thread, but my ROM that I just downloaded (from my Eris browser) and it's not listed. The only zip file is gscript. zip.http:// androidforums.com /all-things-root-eris/127861-universal-eris-root-dummies.html Can anyone help/advise me on what to do from here? I'm new at this and have been doing research on root for a few weeks now.
this is my first time posting and I'm really new at this so please forgive. I bought easy root to root my Droid, which I love, and then downloaded set cpu and every time I install set cpu, I keep getting the reading "read only, cant detect root" I';ve tried installing and uninstalling, but cant seem to get past this stage. Can anyone offer words of wisdom?
I rooted my galaxy note 2 and updated it to 4.2.2. The problem is I cannot get connected to the internet to download any application from Google Store. I am a first time user and not very familiar with android. My model is GT-N7100 and presently working in Saudi Arabia.
I keep getting an alert that "40349940.jpg" had downloaded but I never prompted this to happen,. What's worse it keep reappearing whenever I erase the notification either every 5 minutes or in 5 seconds. I have discovered that it's not appearing when I put the phone in airplane mode so something is trying to be downloaded, but I can't stop it what what I've tried (restarting the phone, clearing the cashe, etc.)
I never check allow auto updating any apps especially google ones because by default they have that setting prechecked.
My Xoom Tablet has been running the older verison of the youtube app since I got it because I really liked the interface and don't like the new version my GN has. So I was just changing a wall paper on my Xoom and all a sudden BAM it reboots and starts back up. a little strange but then I see my notifications going off. [xapp] successfully updated. I was like WHAT ..I check whats going on and I see Youtube at 90%.. you bastard all my apps updated and the check on all google apps has been applied to auto update.
I never heard of this happening so i did a quick search on the Google and i only saw this thread.Google Play Store just auto updated all my apps on its own WTF - Android Forums at AndroidCentral.com
now i got to search for a old apk of the older youtube. or see if a factory reset will give me the old version back.
After getting the 4.0.4 update pushed from Verizon, my Motorola Bionic has disappeared from adb radar. terminal command "adb devices" returns nothing under list of devices attached, when its usb connected. (I've updated my android sdks. to latest platform tools).
I have tried each of the 3 usb settings 4.0.4 offers (Mass Storage, Media Device(MTP) and Camera (PTP), with debugging both on and off. Still no joy. I have killed and started adb server and rebooted both the macbook pro and the bionic. BTW - the original android os it started with had a "Charge Only" mode, which was the usb connection type that adb connection had previously required, but that's gone from this 4.0.4 upgrade for some reason.
I have searched numerous forums and threads. Those forums that did have posts about adb not finding connected device, mostly suggested rebooting and updated sdks. A couple suggested editing some config files, but I couldn't locate those.
I'm running osx lion 10.7.5 on a MacBook Pro. I can provide phone system info if necessary. I've copied below the info I've gathered about the usb port the device is connected to from USB Prober.
Using usb prober the device appears as "Composit device: "XT875" in the bus probe. Port Info shows as: 0x1018, not captive, external device, connected, enabled. Device Descriptor shows as:
I am new android user i have this Galaxy Nexus i9250 it was updated yesterday to 4.1.2 and its not converted to 4.3 yet ! There is a small lock(opened) on my start screen(when i turn on my phone) below the Google logo. what does that mean? n my phone is not rooted !!
I have a great calendar app and the developer warned in the notes to the last update that the next update would usher in ads. I don't want that. I don't have it set to auto update, so I know I can just not accept the update. But I know at some point in the future, my phone will say "found 14 updates" and I'll just hit "update all" and forget to check whether this app I like is one of the 14. Then I'll be stuck with ads. I'd love to be able to somehow disable it from updating period, or from even looking for updates. Is there a way to do this?
I use an HTC Incredible 2 running 2.3.3 and stock rom for now.
Yesterday I updated my galaxy s2 to android 4.0.3 and was very happy with the display resolution. I also loved the simple sky blue colored background which I can't find it later after playing around with themes.
Since I am a fan of Go Launcher theme, I inadvertently changed the theme to something else. What I noticed is that it updated my screen resolution as well. All of the sudden, I start seeing big icons and Widgets clogging the homescreen. The sleek look of ics is no longer visible. It was very obvious from the settings window that the screen resolution is changed (to smaller resolution). I was very disappointed and hence removed the theme. Unfortunately it didn't restore the display settings.
If the latest updates really has higher resolution than gingerbread then is there a wway to restore that for my phone? I thought of doing factory restore but reinstall of all the apps and configuring them is no fun.
the application AutoStarts (URL>...), which can be used to disable apps that starts automatically (boot time, auto) no longer updated since 2011. Moreover, it does not seem to work in JellyBean, as some apps I know starts in the background is not shown in the AutoStarts app.
WHICH service is starting, so it can actually break the app. Any recommendation for AutoStarts replacement?
I'm not really sure what to do about this screen. I started getting a notification that seems to come from the official app (I long tapped, and checked the notification info), but this "update" apparently needs to be side loaded onto the system instead of installed through the Play Store. SCH-I605
I just got my first smartphone and rooted it yesterday, so I'm new to this stuff (but in general am good w/ tech). It's a Moto X non-dev verizon, and running 4.4.
Xposed Framework (installed 2.4.1) won't stay up to date after a hard reboot (app_process is a red dash) and thus my modules don't work at bootup. There actually was an issue when I first installed Xposed: after installing and then updating and rebooting, it wouldn't say it was up to date until I did a soft reboot. Now after a hard reboot, I have to reupdate xposed and then soft reboot for modules to work.
I've tried reinstalling Xposed, no go. SuperSU seems to work fine with my other apps too.
My bro just updated to 2.3.4 on his Atrix, same as me. Now when he gets a call or text, it only shows the number and not the name. These are regular contacts already set up in his contacts list. I haven't been able to figure it out as it works fine on mine.
I know some ways to backup and restore sms and apps. But is there any way to backup things like background, position of widgets, shortcuts on the homescreen etc? Sometimes it is a bit annoying when updating eg. ELK every 5 weeks..
I have a very serious problem as I cannot reboot my galaxy nexus as i tried to update my phone to JELLY BEAN. I watched the tutorial video on how to install jelly bean on my phone on youtube. Furthermore, I downloaded this ROM ''CyanogenMod 9.0''
But unfortunately everything messed up and phone is not rebooting now.
