Very surprisingly I am not able to transfer (both Send and Receive) any files through BLUETOOTH. This is such a basic function of all mobile. I have tried couple of file managers, Bluetooth Manager but not able to transfer. I have rooted the phone .
I wanted to send an apk to my friend but it says something like not supported filetype and therefore it's automatically rejected and it is not sent in consequence. It's not a problem with my phone but with Samsung i9000 dual core 1.2GHz with mali400. IMO we could fix it by adding a line but I'm not sure which file to edit. Weirdly he's able to send apk's. I can send apk files to everyone but him. His Rom is resurrection remix v4.0.7

how I would come about doing this. Would it be possible to have a led light hooked up to a bluetooth adapter and then connected to the phone so whenever you get a message notification on your phone then the led light would light up a certain color? We could have a light box like this with multiple colored leds' in it http[url].... but instead of twitter it'd be specific color coded notifications! Maybe green for messages, blue for gmail, and so on so on! The light box in the link also has a wifly module in it so maybe we could switch it out with a bluetooth module instead?

This is my first android phone and im having some problems with the bluetooth. Im trying to send my contacts over bluetooth from my old sony ericsson but it doesnt seem to be going smoothly, i would say its all down to me! Basically i have got the bluetooth on for both phones, the desire is set to be discoverable and i try to send the contacts via bluetooth on the SE. I get the whole passcode and accept the file which i have done, but then it says again about accepting the file. Ive tried it a few times and i have 3 bluetooth icons at the top of my screen now which i imagine are for transferring files which need accepting. Is there anywhere i can to accept them or close them down?
View 1 Replies View RelatedIs there a way to control which application send audio to Bluetooth and which sent to system speaker?
I have a Bluetooth car kit that is paired with my Samsung Galaxy SII phone (ICS 4.0.3) and any audio that is played on the phone (messages, phone calls, media, etc) it's sent to the car kit.
This is very annoying, because if I listen to the car radio and the phone receive a message, the sound is sent to the car kit, resulting in a interruption of around 10 seconds, only for transmitting the ring of the message.
I want to have only the phone calls and the media player audio passed to the car kit through the Bluetooth and to block any other audio notifications (and to let them play through the phone speaker).
Is there is any way to control what is sent to Bluetooth, or what application can send audio to the Bluetooth?

View 4 Replies View RelatedOften times "like aboard an airplane" there's someone you want to talk with, but can't, because they're in a different seat. Is there any app that would allow people to:
a) send messages to other Android phones via bluetooth
b) sent messages by connecting to a common wifi network (yet not connected to the internet)
c) create an ad-hoc network and send messages that way.
Would any of those be feasible at all?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am trying to send a photo from my Android device to a laptop via Bluetooth. Right now I have a gallery on the screen where the photos are depicted. What I want to do is to click a photo and directly send it to the laptop. All the Bluetooth stuff works fine but what I donīt know how to do is to get the byte[] that conforms the picture that should be sent. Maybe that is not the way is supposed to be done, so please it would help if someone gives me some suggestions about how to proceed. I just need some guidelines, later I will investigate how to code everything. Once the Bluetooth messages reach the laptop is there something to do to "rebuild" the picture?
And secondly, by now I am copying the files to the drawable file of my project. Is it possible to directly get them from the folder where the picture I take are stored?
Ok here is my question. For some reason I can not figure out how to send ringtones or sounds VIA bluetooth, or MMS. I am able to send everything else like pictures or other stuff, but for some reason there is no option to send a sound. WHY? Am I doing something wrong? I searched for hours trying to find something like this on the board but never did find anything.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI cannot get files to transfer via bluetooth, either to another phone or to my car kit (ie/ contact lists, v cards). when i called for help i was told 1 - check with your network provider. (uhm, bluetooth doesn't utilize the network...) 2- the upgrade to 2.1 has caused many of the products to be unable to sync to other devices (well, the speaker works, i just can't transfer files. oh, that is odd - not a helpful reply) and 3 - try a factory reset. (how about, no. every time i've tried that nothing is fixed and i'm back to square one and having to reload all of my programs and data).it's been determined that my settings are correct. has anyone else found this issue and been able to overcome it?
View 2 Replies View Relatedokay so here is my problem. My evo wont do anything once paired to my computer via bluetooth. i paired it successfully, then later i wanted to send a file from my phone to my computer via bluetooth, (i have ftp enabled) and told my computer to expect a file and nothing. it doesn't work. also when i check the pairing profile on my computer, under services it is COMPLETELY blank, there should be some services like dial-up modem and bluetooth speakers and stuff shouldn't there be?
here is what i want to be able to do.
1. i want to send files from my EVO to my computer via Astro Bluetooth.
2. i would also like to use my laptop speakers via bluetooth, example, play Pandora on my phone using my laptop speakers via bluetooth connection
that is really all i want to do but i cant get ANYTHING working. could this be solved by rooting my evo? i really just wanna be able to do basic bluetooth functions with my phone.
