General :: Allwinner A13 Tablet With Split Internal Memory / How To Merge Partitions
Feb 6, 2013
I have a generic Allwinner A13 7" tablet essentially identical to this one. The internal memory is set so that part of it is seen as internal, and part as a fake SD card mounted on /mnt/sdcard. Actual SD cards get mounted to /mnt/extsd.
I find this very annoying for a number of reasons, and would like all the internal memory to be seen as internal with no fake SD cards, and SD cards to be mounted to /mnt/sdcard. If this were one of those tablets capable of running Linux I'd run gparted and do the job from there, but it isn't.
Is there any way to merge the two internal memory partitions into just one?
I'm aware I can edit vold.fstab and invert the two mount points, and I'll keep it as a fallback solution, but I hate the idea of wasting a gig of useful internal space like that.
way to merge the Internal storage and phone memory together as I only have 500 MB of app storage (internal storage) and most of that is took up by default Google apps and I have a unused 2GB phone memory. So is it possible to merge/combine this together so I have a total of 2.5GB for apps without adding a alternative ROM?
I recently acquired an A13 tablet and wanting to install CM10 on it I first installed CWM 184.108.40.206 according to the famous manual (if it's relevant I'll post the exact url). Anyway, it got stuck on CWM (doesn't boot normally). Now I figured it can't install since using 'adb shell' and looking at /proc/partitions -- nothing is there! """ cat /proc/partitions major minor #blocks name
I had an encrypted I9100 on Cyanogenmod 9. After a factory reset I installed Cyanogemod 10.1. Everything runs smoothly, but about 12gb of my internal sd space was misplaced during the installation and is now missing. Only 2 gb is currently available. /sdcard cannot be mounted, something about /sdcard/android_secure
I ran some commands in adb, and the space is still there, but it needs to be replaced / repartitioned somehow.
df -h Filesystem Size Used Available Use% Mounted on tmpfs 395.6M 48.0K 395.6M 0% /dev /dev/block/mmcblk0p7 98.4M 87.0M 11.4M 88% /cache ~ # mount /data
Surely, the last partition "/dev/block/mmcblk0p16 = 2311 MB" is the free storage not being used, and "/dev/block/mmcblk0p15 = 803 MB" is the phone memory, which I want to extend/increase.
My question is: Is it possible to merge the alst 2 partitions (e.g. by formatting 2.2GB space and then merging it with the 803MB space. This way my phone will have its system memory pretty large, and I will be able to install more applets through BusyBox as well as Chrome etc.
I want to get a custum recovery because I can't access to my recovery mode it shows a foto of a droid, I tried rebooting from rom manager app, and from the power and Vol+ .. but nothing works you can check the foto in the attachments.
Is CWM available for the Eken T01? I have posted this question several times on other boards and never got an answer either way. I just got this tablet and I have rooted it. However I would really like to make backups with CWM like I do with my phone because it has saved my butt more than once
i have a allwinner a13 tablet that has gotten stuck in the process of opening. i had installed clockmodrecovery and uberizer. and was looking for a way to correct root 'permission" that kept coming up when trying to install programs that needed root access. then i messed up.
i was trying to restore factory when it froze. i cannot use buttons to enter recovery mode. i made a back up in uberizer but am unable to find .how to use. also since this is happened i cannot load any driver to recognize the tablet into windoes 7device manager.
I received a generic Chinese table. it worked well for about two-and-a-half months. Then, just recently, I discovered rooting and the wonderful things it allowed you to do. I decided to download a system-tweak app, which included a CPU control. I was a little wary of overclocking my CPU, having heard it may decrease its life expectancy, but finally I thought "What the heck?" and in a brilliant stroke of genius cranked my 1Ghz processor up to 1.5Ghz, and it promptly froze, forcing me to power it down. When I turned it back on, I discovered that it had been factory reset. I re-installed my apps, including the system-tweak app, and decided not to touch the CPU controls for a while. Soon after, while at my sister's talent show, I discovered I had about 30% battery life, and I was still supposed to record her. So I figured I'd underclock it to save the battery.
Unfortunately, as my finger touched the slider, my brother bumped my arm and caused me to lower the CPU frequency to its lowest setting. It became extremely sluggish, almost to the point of being unresponsive, and finally I had to shut it down. When I restarted it, it started to boot but then got stuck on the shimmering Android logo, and now that's all it does. I can't even boot into recovery mode, and unfortunately I had just turned off USB debugging that same day.
I have just purchased a N9330 Note 2 and I am wondering if managed to merge the phone's Internal Storage (512M) and Phone Storage 1.68GB.
The Internal Storage will always run out of space (since it is only 512M) and the low disk space warning would come on.
I just want to merge these two together so I get about 2GB of space for Android to run from since I already put a 16GB micro SD i feel the 1.68GB that is factory partitioned as a storage space can be put to better use and solve my low disk space warning.
Also I am trying to clear the Dalvik Cache from this phone. How do I do that?
I'm wanting to learn more about android. Is there a way to use memory from the sd card for the phones internal memory? Is there an app that will tell me whats useing up so much memory? I'm on the ZTE warp sequent ,rooted.
How do I fix my Ainol Elf tablet? It keeps resetting and no internal storage.
Last night I installed busybox onto it. When I started it up this morning, I found it had gone and reset itself. (Goes back to default chinese language, all apps and settings gone) On top of that, it says there's 0.00 bytes of internal storage left. I can seem to install very small apps (less than a couple of megabytes) but nothing bigger than that.
Perhaps the most annoying thing is that when you restart, it resets again.
PS I did find this post: [URL] ....
Specifc Details on the elf tablet: -runs ICS4.0.3 -Allwinner a10 1ghz cpu -mali400 gpu
its been a long time since my phone started to show red small icon of a chip in upper left corner, telling the internal memory of my phone is finishing, I m done with deleting unnecessary apps. What can i do ? I tried to clean cashe, delete downloaded files from apps..
i have destroyed my system tablet, because after a lot of work... cyanogen rest in infinite loop and CWM dont work, i want to bring in assistance my tablet, but i need to eliminate the cyanogen loop image, how can i reset internal memory (rest data of rom)?
I have a "rooted" micromax A44, an mtk based phone loaded with gb. Yes, It hs very low internal memory (a mere 170mb dedicated for user apps nd its data). There are no roms nor a recovery available. So im at my wits end. I tried these to overcome the problem.
1. changed internal apps (system) into user ones using Titanium Backup and moved them to sd card. still the app's data remained internal, low memory.
2. Tried link2sd to link apk's, lib files nd dalvik cache, still data stayed on internal memory.
3. Same results with apps2sd.
But, I still could have made it possible with data2sd, mounts2sd, etc. I couldn't. This is where the real problem is. Mine is a "stock" gb with root access. So maybe its the reason unable to recognize ext2,3,4 partitions on my sd card(8gb). therefore, none of those scripts worked.
link2sd worked as fat32 was supported by the kernel.
is ther any way I can reduce burden on the internal memory?? No matter how carefull I am, the /data partition gets hogged with files even after I removed all "my" apps leaving system apps alone.Used all kind of cleaners possible (sd maid, clean master, memory booster, etc..) but no effect.
P.S. I even supercharged my phone as its the only script which I need not flash. adenaline, tweakz etc needs to be flashed, which in my case, never gonna happen.(no custom recovery, roms).
After upgrading my defy successfuly to cyanogenmod9, I cant access the internal memory of the phone through the computer. when I choose the "portal" option in the usb connections, the computer does the "beep" sound when theres a new hardwear plugged to it, but I can't access it.
How can I transfer files, like music, into folders in the internal storage?
I have a Acer Liquid Metal on 2.3.6. I have a custom ROM T&L. It came preinstalled with Link2SD. I like to try lots of apps and this problem seems to be haunting me. I reset my phone on the 26th Dec as it was so annoying. I think I have set up Link2SD correctly. I have a 4gb SD with 1gb as ext2.
If I have Link2SD, why do I still have a problem with low internal storage?? I have had to remove some app's but the internal storage always gets lower.
I tried out a few roms on my motorola defy plus, and as of today I have absolultely no space on internal memory, although it is supposed to be 1GB in size.
I'm thinking that this happened, because every time I tried out a new rom, I installed all the applications I use all over again.I tried clearing the cache, the Dalvik cache from recovery, but it didn't work.
In this way I am unable to install any aplications whatsoever, whenever I try to open the Market, the phone hangs for a while and then reboots, actually whatever I do with it, it reboots, for example opening the contact manager, trying to manage the apps and so on.
I have download an app while i have not got enough space in my phone memory to install, thought that i will move it to sd card, the app didn't installed in my phone neither got deleted, its stuck in my phone memory now, and i am not finding a way to delete it manually.
Also I would like to know how to access the phone memory folders and files like we access the MC. So, that I can deleted the broken downloaded files. I have already tried with the cleaner apps from market.
