General :: All RDP Apps Failing To Connect To Windows 8
Aug 21, 2012
I have a SGS 3 and often use 2x client to RDP into my Windows PC. Everything worked great until I installed the free Windows 8 Enterprise 90 day evaluation on my PC. Now, the app will connect, and the PC thinks it is being accessed, but all I get is a blank screen on my phone.
I tried this with every other (free) RDP app out there and they all do the same thing.
when i open it using sqllight data browser it works fine but after adding it to new directory in my android project called databases/test1.db. Code...
I am not getting any information in the cursor in existInDataBase() function to be more specific I'm always getting false for cursor.moveToFirst() even when my query is just to select without any thing
can someone please : 1.tell me what he thinks is wrong 2.how can i debug and see what there is in the db (i debug but i cant see anything odd should i had a if saying "you have no data base")note " when i builded the app the first time the app was the the one who build the db as you can see in private void insertValus(String typeInserted , int num);
my problem seems to be the manifest file: when one takes a db file and import it to his android project what should he do ?please explain in steps what should i do thanks yoav.
I have a samsung Captivate, I am trying to root the phone, but whenever i put it in debugging the phone can't connect to my computer (windows 7 x64). I have been trying to find a driver but none of them work, am I really going to have to pay $30.00 for a one time download of a driver or is there another way!?
I have connected the Captivate to my Windows 7 64 Bit PC. I have downloaded the updated drivers and installed them. I have tried all the different types of connection as mass storage etc... Nothing seems to work. I can see the phone in Device Manager and in the explorer it shows three removable disks; however, when I try to open them it tells me to insert disk.
New user here. I am trying to get windows xp to recognize the sd card on my droid, is there a way to do this? Also is there any windows based software that is similar to the blackberry desktop manager? Tried to search for this answer but only found solutions for windows 7.
I've got a PC with Win7 64bit and a wireless router. I want to connect the phone to the PC via wifi but I'm not able to I've tried ES file explorer and I can connect to the PC but I'm unable to open the shared folders. The phone prompts me for username and password but I haven't activated such. Any ideas?
I am trying to connect my Droid X2 to my Windows 7/BlueCove Bluetooth server. I previously had my Droid X2 connecting to an ASUS Transformer so I know its possible to connect my Droid X2 to another system.
However, when I try to connect to my Windows machine, my Droid X2 sees the machine, but when I try to connect to a service that my laptop is running I get
IOException: Connection refused
My BlueCove server has been tested using other computers and works fine.
Certain apps need to be connected to Facebook. They let you sign in to Facebook and then return to the app. Sometimes i then get error message 'can t connect' with certain apps, but when i look in Facebook, the apps seem to be connected. But still the app itself keeps displaying the error message.
I am attempting to connect my laptop to the Epic Hotspot. My laptop is able to find SPH-D70002E (Epic) on my laptop's WiFi available network list. When I click on that, I get a Window's error message: "Windows is unable to connect to the selected network. The network may no longer be in range. Please refers the list of available networks and try to connect again." The SPH-D70002E (Epic) is full bars strength.
I created a simple apps that will just put products in the database(phpmysql) and display. It works well if I run it through my emulator in my laptop but when I transfer it (the .apk file) into the android phone. I could not connect to the database. I already changed the IP into the IP address of my laptop.
Google services on my PC works perfectly fine, but there is something wrong with my network, google apps wont connect on any device connected to my home modem. I have tried it on my Phone, tablets, on my brothers phone, it just wont connect. However, when I connected my phone with the network of my University, I worked the first time but the second time, same no connection problem.
Any way to automatically sync Play Store applications across multiple devices. In other words, I have a Nexus 7, TPad, LG Connect (work phone) and then I also switch between a GNex and Rezound (personal phone).
Is there anyway that if I download an app from one device that the app will also automatically be pushed/downloaded on the other devices?
It is a real pain to have to remember to go to each other device and download the app, and even worse when I switch between handsets that may not have been used for several week.
As of about a week ago the browser sync on my device has been failing. I am running ICS via the latest CM9 nightly on my Samsung Galaxy S II (i9100T).
Chrome Beta bookmarks sync fine, it's only the builtin browser that is failing to sync. I would use Chrome Beta if I could but it's so damn crash-happy that it's unusable (I assume it's a CM compatibility problem that isn't resolved yet). Here is the relevant log entries from a failed browser sync attempt:
I/BookmarksSync( 5112): Sync failed due to soft error: Reader: Protocol (soft) error: Truncating server changelist after 260 items, as the changelist contains more than one entry with a given remote id: Z:ADqtAZy+M2N65xx6fxN82TxDitLVtIkXCgmtSFp8W2tkH0Ck Jn0/Jcg8vDEWpzXibMIJcCZ0FdLOu2YpKahtQz5TqasLlCiDZDhnES Z7grZisodhrY++D+I=
Basically it's just that over and over again. I've tried clearing the data in the browser app settings then resyncing, and I have also confirmed that on my PC my settings are set to encrypt passwords only (as a google search revealed some people had issues when encrypting everything).I'm a heavy user of my device and being unable to access my bookmarks is quite frustrating.
So I've had this Samsung Note 8.0 for around 6 months now. Had been content with it, but after the first couple firmware update (including the most recent one to 4.2.2) my front camera always fails. My rear camera works fine but when I select the self portrait icon, it will show up 'Camera Failed' and closes down. It has happen too often now, have done everything recommended online. Clear Cache, Force Stop, Clear RAM, Factory Reset (I've done this so many times now). I used to think it's a hardware problem but reading stuffs online they say it's a software problem. What should I do??
I installed CM11 on my sgh-t849 tablet.. it works but when i try to flash GApps Core 4.4.2 it fails and stop working.. can i just install the apk onto a external sd card and just install that way and it work fine or?
I get told that there is an update waiting in OTA , so I let it download, reboots, starts to install, then fails, reboots, tells me to try via KIES or contact Samsung. But when I go into Kies... there is no button to let me update my firmware... it just tells me my current firmware version, nothing else like it usually would...
Not custom ROM, no root, battery 100%. Wifi/HSPA makes no difference..My friend has the same phone with the same firmware and it works fine with him?
I am about to build an app which needs to use device internal storage memory extensively, a lot of reads, writes and overwrites of the files.
I assume that most of the android devices use a kind of a flash memory, but where can I find more data on this topic for the most common memories used, like how many reads/writes can an internal flash endure before failing?
I made a great app that runs great on android phones. It was obviously written in java.I am wondering now that I have the .apk file is there away to run it on a windows mobile phone.
My friend really likes it alot when he tried it on my android phone. He has however windows mobile phone.
Since it was written in java and runs on the dalvik VM I was wondering if there is a windows mobile phone app that allows you to run a .apk java based android phone app?
In theory all that would have to be done is allow windows mobile to load a dalvik VM to run the .apk file / .dex code.I don't have to reinvent the app for windows that would take alot more work
At that point I would probably be will to take a stab at getting a copy of the dalvik VM if it is not to tied down to the android os and writting on for windows phones to use http:/[url]....
ALso not only would it have to support the dalvik VM but also the android sdk functions...So more like an emulator of the whole android os... so I think maybe it would be even harder then just getting the dalvik VM running because you would have to also get the android os functions emulated as well ... i.e the android sdk... so more like a total android port instead of just a VM port.
Darn I don't think this is as easy unless of course you where just coding an app with a standard more universally excepted package like the J2ME then it would probably be a straight VM port but in that case J2ME is not really supported on the android any way....
So I think forget it for now until the phones are not so dependent on there sdk's / native code ,...etc. I don't blame java since it really is dalivk VM's fault and the fact that on an android the VM code is almost like native os code in that the functions are tied to the underlying machine code/sdk . As opposed to being more portable like a regular java VM.
1 - Any good apps for controlling Windows 7 media center? Something like VLCmote, that one works well.
2 - Any way to delete "remembered" words? For example, when I text people and I type "You?" it always defaults to "Yiy?" instead. It's really annoying!
3 - Is Better Keyboard any good? I love the default qwerty keyboard, but I have a few minor problems with it. The spacebar isn't big enough, I often accidentally hit the period button, for example. Just basically want one that's the same as the default but with a larger spacebar.
When it comes to smart phones and flashing. I recently got a HTC Evo and had it flashed to be on metro pcs to try and save a little cash on the bill. Well I think I am learning you get what you pay for. I am hoping I can get some tips or tricks from this forum. My phone will not run any apps really. It wont connect to facebook or the app store or google maps and youtube. Basicly all the social apps dont work. However if I connect it to WIFI it will run it them. Is it cause metros data service sucks.
None of my apps can updates or use my network. With or without 3g enabled. Also when gsm/ wcdma auto is used, I get just texts through, but when I use only one of those at a time. My signal dissappears completely.
i cant wait to get my Xperia upgraded to 2.1! i have one issue though. i only have access to a work PC with XP but no admin account (big corp, so no chance of getting it temporarily) or my housemates Mac. my girlfriend has a laptop but she wont be home until next weekend are there any non-windows/non-admin methods of upgrading?
I have had DC 2.08.1 installed for about 2 weeks with no issues. I decided to go ahead and partition the SD to utilized apps2SD as I was having memory issues. That process, while not smooth, went through okay and the SD card is working with the partition and apps2SD. However, ever since that was completed, my Windows 7 box no longer recognizes the phone either as a phone or as a drive. My Linux laptop recognizes the drive without issue.
Any suggestions on how I can reintroduce my phone to the Windows box, at least as a drive?
