I have this element in my layout XML: <FrameLayout android:id="@+id/FrameLayout01" android:layout_width="320sp" android:layout_height="380sp" android:layout_gravity="center" android:background="#99CC33"> </FrameLayout> And I want to get its position on the screen with getTop(), getBottom() but I want to do it only once. I was trying to do it on the onCreate(), but those methods return all 0 as response.
I have a WebView in my layout which I want to display a web page in. However the webpage requires Basic Authentication.
If I try to access this web page in the normal android browser, I get prompted for a username and password which then gets remembered and works for the site in future.
I want to do the same thing in my application, but when I load the page into the webview it just comes straigt up with the Unauthorized message without prompting.
I guess the prompting for Authentication is written in code in the android browser. Does anyone know how to inject a username and password into the WebView?
I have done a search arond and found the setHttpAuthUsernamePassword (String host, String realm, String username, String password) Method, But can't seem to get it to work and I can't find anyone else who has either? Not sure if I am giving it the correct parameters as I'm a little confused by what is means as the Realm?
I assumed that if the site was myhost.dyndns.org then the hostname would be myhost and the realm would be dyndns.org? This didn't seem to work. I also tried connecting by IP Address but that makes the Realm setting even more confusing? Any ideas on how I can get this working?
I was and I am so excited with my phone. How can I be happy with my phone if some of the basic features are not working properly? I am very frustrated with my phone not because of the bugs but because it really affected my life.
1. Alarm issue, Motorola wants the user to be searching in the forums to find a solution to a core function? I got to work late by 1 hour the first time this occurred. 2. Yesterday suddenly when I unlocked my phone there was nothing on the home screens, and I have the stock home application. I was going right left, and nothing was there! 3. The music player suddenly starts playing. I was in a meeting and suddenly the music player starts playing! What should I say to the other people? There's a bug in my Milestone and Motorola is just too lame to fix it.
Is it possible to create files in subdirectories created under "/data/data/packagename/files/" directory using openFileOutput method in android?
ie there is a sub-directory by name "text" inside the "/data/data/packagename/files/" directory. I want to use the openFileOutput (String name, int mode) method to write a file eg:sample.txt into this directory....Is it possible to use openFileOutput method to do it....
I have a rather new phone, 2 weeks at most. I have rooted it, and am now trying to get it on odin. We have two bricked phones to work with, Download mode still works with both. I have dumped all partitions in /dev/block.I am working on the OPS file. I found this in the I believe Odin image. I think it's the OPS but I don't know.
here is the lines cleaned up this is the exact order I found it in from the image.
I've been theming my phone over the past week with Froyo BuglessBeast and have almost got my phone just the way I want it (custom icons, colors, launcher image, etc) My question is, how do I make this into an updateable file so I can flash it over future bugless upgrades instead of having to re-do everything again?
Just for information, not sure that it makes any difference. I themed the stock launcher as well as framework-res. I didn't do it with a home replacement.
I've experienced a strange issue running applications on the HTC Desire.
When I call getApplicationContext().getCacheDir() or getApplicationContext().getFilesDir() from my activity this always returns null. In the emulator /data/data/com.myapp.android/cache respectively /data/data/com.myapp.android/files is returned.
Because of that I'm not able to use the webview class as it tries to create cache files and crashes with a null pointer exception. The logs:
I noticed that other apps have issues as well. For example the google finance app logs the following message:
Why I cannot create folders in this directory?
Is there a possibility to set the fileDir and cacheDir paths to the sd card or somewhere else? I looked at some classes like Context, Webview and CacheManager but I could not find a way to change it.
Do I need to set a permission to create cache files?
I noticed in the newer releases of busybox there's no 'zip' command anymore. I'm running busybox 1.19 on my Incredible.
I have been using this command to create different bootanimation.zip files from my phone but am wondering if there is an alternative command I can use from within Android. I've tried tar -cvzf but I believe tar archives/compresses the files differently and renaming the extensions to .zip does not work.
I cannot play my mp3s without one or two songs repeating over and over, before going to a new song, then the player goes back to the same repeated ones. I noticed that extra files are being created continuously in the mp3 folder. Even if I make a play list the player still manages to go back to these invader files. Is that a micro sd card or android issue. I first notice it after I install ics on my SGS I9000. Now I am JB (I9300OXADLI8).
I have managed to create a menu with four options. I want to create four sub menus of same style for each option. In my infinite nooby-ness I have created four classes for the sub menus but I cannot figure out how to move between the menus(Classes). For instance I have four options Prem, Champ, L1, L2, I have created the Prem sub menu but how do I get the program to move to this class(SubMenu) when the Prem option is selected, and how do I get it to move back.
My music has ID3 version 2.3 tags (most common). About 10% (2,500) of my music is AAC (.m4a) format which is MP4 tagged. All my songs are very organized into 11 different genres. Everything has a title, artist, and album assigned to it and looks great in my iPhone, iTunes, MediaMonkey, and Mp3tag program. When I add my music to my Samsung Fascinate, it reads the tags of my .m4a music but when I go to genre, things are messy. It appears to be putting albums in the genre section (only with .m4a files). Example: Lets say I have an .m4a of Garth Brooks, Thunder Rolls, No Fences (album), Country (genre)In my Samsung Fascinate player, it will be found in the genre section under "No Fences". If I click "Country" genre where it should be, the song will not be listed there. It seems to be reading .m4a Album tags as genre and not reading the appropriate tag "Country".I hope someone can help straighten this out without having either manually edit each song tag OR convert all of them to .mp3 and deplete the song quality.
I've been trying to export it to a jar file but as there is no main method in my app this doesn't work. Can someone tell me how to create this executable? the executable is to run the emulator and app both in computer not at phone!
I have a rooted evo running fresh 188.8.131.52 and so far I love it. I used unrevoked 3.21 to do this. My question is does flashing new radio files and pellet files actually increase and or decrease how well the radio works on the phone. I noticed hat once I installed wireless tether that my WiFi signal seems to go down 1 or 2 bars when the laptop is not even 10 feet away. Is thus normal. Anyway I'm very knew to the whole flashing of radio files and just wanted to hear if it does anything or not.
So I could easily do this with my other Captivate before I traded in for a new one (last one was defective, thats a different story) they are both rooted. The thing is I can't remember how I set my song as my ringtone. It is a full song and I easily set it as my ringtone. I didn't put it in a custom "ringtones" folder or anything.
I know that I can make a recovery zip to install packages, but I was wondering if I can make a zip that will extract and replace database files on my phone that are not packaged. The reason I want to do this is so that when I flash a new ROM, I can easily restore certain phone settings like altered APN databases.
I search for a way, to make a complete backup. Because i will test some other roms. Complete backup mean somthing like the ftf files for Flashtool. a backup from kernel, rom and personal data's in one way with one file or folder that i can restore later. I think, that this not is possible with Smartphone on, so it must be a way with pc and Smartphone in Flash- or Fastboot mode?
So I have just started nodding apk's . I modded the unicornporn one to get rid of the stuff I didn't like and added in what I wanted. Problem is they'll only install if I paste to system/app and reboot. How can I edit the apk files to make it install as a regular app?
I create aviparsernode folder by coping from MP4 parser node folder under /external/opencore/nodes/. But when I type "make" command under /external/opencore/build_config/opencore_dynamic/. The files under aviparsernode folder are not compilied. Does any one knows how to let OpenCore to make files under aviparsernode folder?
