Not got the phone yet.. but it looks good.. as an Apple fan i love the Iphone but im not willing to change carrier or pay what they want.. so i think the hero is my best option.. What is important to me is my email.. I want to be able to sync my yahoo account with yahoo mail and the mail on the phone so if i send an email on my phone it will appear in the sent folder on my yahoo mail on the computer and vice versa if you follow... With Android being google will i be able to do this from the phones email client like the iphone does...
I got tired of not receiving yahoo mail when I was using wifi. Here is a way to forward yahoo mail for free to gmail. I also like receiving all my mail in one inbox. Here is a link to the original androidforums thread.http://androidforums.com/motorola-droid/ 30776-forward-yahoo-mail-gmail-free.html
I just got my Captivate the other day and I was wondering if there are any good e-mail apps for gmail, yahoo mail, and hotmail? I've tried each and the stock but either it won't let me add multiple accounts or it doesn't receive the emails even though there are new ones in my inbox when I check it.
for some reason i can't seem to set up my personal yahoo email account. i keep getting an error saying i'm not authenticated? i just logged in with this pc and didn't have any problems. i was trying to set it up using the mail widget google /gmail worked just fine with their widget are they trying to just force me to use gmail only anyone have any similar problems and/or tips to get it set up. i would like to move to one email account but you know how it is, you get on, you get another, people have the old address guess i could forward yahoo to gmail.
Sorry if this has Been asked a million times but can I add a yhoo mail account to the android mail app? I have tried various settings in the manual add section but can't add a yahoo mail account. would much prefer not to use the yahoo mail app from the store!
I am trying to figure out whats going on. I have 2 DI for myself and girlfriend. I have my email (gmail and yahoo) setup through the HTC Mail Client and they work fine. I setup my other phone the same way and it worked fine, but once the yahoo account completed the process of downloading the inbox, I got an Authentication Error stating the login was incorrect. The login is not wrong and works fine to login via the standard web page. I tried to delete the Yahoo Account on the HTC, but when I went to setup again I had the same issue. Not sure how or why this could be happening. Any advice is appreciated. Also verified all the yahoo email settings on my working device and they are all the same on the other device with the issue.
I have enjoyed being able to check all my e-mail accounts in one place, so despite having the Yahoo! Mail app that was recently put in the Market, I have been using the stock mail app to check my Yahoo! mail.Last night when I checked my Yahoo! Mail through the stock mail app, I was getting weird error messages. Most of the time it would go ahead and put me in my Yahoo! inbox but there would also be a message saying "login failed." I would click OK and then go about my business because e-mails were coming through. I figured it would sort itself out at some point. This morning, it was still doing it and it was annoying, so I re-booted the phone. Same problem. So I decided to delete the account and re-install it (a few weeks ago I had some issues with my Exchange mail account and deleting then re-installing fixed them.)Now, when I try to re-install the account it says "Authentication failed. Please verify your username/password." I have tried it over and over. I know I am using the right username and password - I just used them on my desktop PC to get into the account. And my Yahoo! Mail app still works on the phone.Anyone have any ideas what has happened and/or how I can fix this? I really want to continue to be able to check my Yahoo! mail on my phone without having to use the Yahoo! app.
I just downloaded the yahoo mail app from the market and like it so much better than the default HTC Mail App. However, I'm getting double notifications. I remember getting this with handcent and default text program but easily shut that off. Can't seem to figure it out with mail. Any ideas how to disable the default mail notifications without deleting the account in the default mail app?
I'm having trouble setting up Yahoo Mail in the Mail app.The settings appear to be correct as detailed on http://popfwd.mail.yahoo.com/pf/PopConfig but it keeps saying "Authentication failed. Please verify your username/password." I've tried the username with and without "@yahoo.co.uk" and double-checked that the password is correct.
I can't seem to access my yahoo business email account through the new Yahoo app. On my computer, I login with one login id and I have access to all of my yahoo email accounts, both personal and business. When entering my yahoo business email address and password at the sign in screen of the Yahoo app, it connects me to my personal yahoo email account. Is it possible to set up this yahoo app so I can access my business email?
Is there an app that I can easily check my yahoo emails on?If so, would it give me a notification every time I get a new email?I'm fine just using my bookmark for yahoo, but I was just wondering if one existed.
I unthinkingly updated to yahoomail app to 1.2.1 but now it won't functional allow me to reply to livejournal notices. Every time I try to enter a reply in the box, the view jumps so I can't see what I'm typing. Is there anyway to go back to 1.2? Or am I stuck with a phone that won't do what I got it to do?
I recently got a HTC magic, and was trying to get my yahoo mail into email application without success. It kept saying i typed in the wrong ID or password. It accepted hotmail and google mail though. Anyone managed to get yahoo mail into Email application? Please tell me how you did.
In the My Accounts app on the Droid X, I added a Yahoo! Mail email account to show someone as an example how easily it was to add a Yahoo! Mail account. Afterwards, I went to Remove account, but was met repeatedly with "Error Removing Account: An error has occurred. Please try again." I want to get rid of this Yahoo! Mail account without having to bloody reset the whole device. 1.) Model Number: Droid X 2.) Firmware Version: 2.1-update 1 3.) Baseband Version: BC_C_01.09.04P 4.) Kernel Version: 2.6.29 5.) Build Number: VZW
Just thought I would share a little information I have found with my fellow Droid owners. This guide will allow you to (freely) forward your Yahoo! email to a newly created (or old) Gmail Account for easier integration with your Droid (or other Android Devices) without paying the $20 a month Yahoo! requires for premium service. First create your Gmail account if you do not already have one. Also I am coming from the "New Yahoo"
Step 1: Sign into Yahoo Mail
Step 2: Click options on the upper right hand corner of your screen. Select to switch to Yahoo Mail Classic
Step 3: In the top left hand corner is your name. Highlight it and select "Account Info". It will ask you to put your password in again.
Step 4: Under Account Setting click "Set language, site, time-zone."
Step:5 Click New Setting and change it to Yahoo! Asia. Also accept the new Terms of Agreement.
You should now see a Yahoo! Asia logo on your homescreen.
We can now enable POP access and Email Forwarding without the $20 a normal member would pay.
Step 6: Click options again in the top right hand corner. Then Mail Options.
Step 7: On the left of the screen select POP and Forwarding. Then Set up or edit Pop and Forwarding.
Step 8: Click the bubble next to forwarding and enter in your new gmail account. Click Save.
Step 9: Send Verification
Step 10: Go to your gmail and grab the confirmation code and go back to the Yahoo! and enter. Enter password again.
So, Yahoo released its own mail and messenger apps today. I tried it out for about 5 minutes. It seems like a slimmer version of their Yahoo Go! that they used to have for Blackberry. So far, not impressed. But at least its a step in the right direction for them. They should just allow mail setup using IMAP or convert to exchange servers. That way Yahoo folks can have their calendars and contacts all synced up.
I just got my new Captivate and synced up my corporate e-mails.Everything came in fine, but it provides me with EVERY sub folder in my inbox along the top and when I consolidate it .it doesn't last.Is there a way to only display the basic Inbox, Sent, Draft, Deleted boxes?
