I am unable to synch my contacts with my own gmail account. I am unable to download apps from the market as I dont know the shopguy's password. I am therefore unable to back up my contacts before I reset the phone.
I have been looking for ways to back up my contacts to my PC so that I can reset the phone and then export them back and synch them with gmail via the G1. In the last name field make sure that each person either has a last name or has some letter in the field or they will not import correctly. They will just end up showing up with a phone number w/o a name. After doing this, resave the file........

I recently bought an Evo 4g and it is my first android phone. I am trying to import all of my contacts to my gmail account without any success. My calendar has synced up fine but the contacts are not transferring over.
The contacts were transferred to my Evo from my old phone by a Best Buy rep at the time of my purchase if this matters...since I did not manually create them on my Evo.
Is there any way to get all of these contacts transferred over?
I have a new desire. The new Telstra 3G sim mangles the contacts on getting them out of the old Nokia. I can sync the nokia to windows 7 contacts. It would appear that htc sync only looks for the old outlook express windows address book. Is there a fix for this as I can't get the contacts from 1 phone to the other.
How do I transfer Windows Media videos to my HTC Evo? Specifically, digital copy that comes when you buy a Blu-Ray movie. The problem seems to be the codec. I used handbrake to when converting but when I tried it, phone said it couldn't play this video. No reason or error code.
I have a Samsung Galaxy 5 player running gingerbread. I'm trying to access files on it from my WinXP box via wifi. This seems like it should be a very common thing to do, but I simply can't find it. If I plug it into a usb port, I can access the drives. Can this be done via wifi?

I purchased an EVO 3 weeks ago and just purchased a second one for my wife. How do I put my phone contacts onto her phone. EVO to EVO? I Backed up my SD card to my computer but can't tell which item is the phone contacts.
I just pre-ordered the EVO yesterday. Since this is at Radio Shack, I am assuming that they won't be able to transfer the contacts from me pre to the EVO. Is this correct? I decided to go ahead and fix all my contacts on gmail anyway just in case. This gives me something to do while waiting for my EVO.... Will the Evo import all my contacts when I log into my gmail account and set it as my main sync account? What I am doing is this: 1. I installed the 'contacts to email' patch using preware and exported all my contacts as a vcard file. This is probably a good idea anyway. I don't completely trust "cloud" storage. 2. I sent myself the email and then imported this vcard file into gmail contacts. This resulted in about 350 contacts in gmail. I'm now working through them doing edits and combining duplicates. Is this the best way to prepare my contacts for the EVO?
I'm just about to take the plunge and move over to a Droid device and wanted to know if there is a process that I can move my contacts from my Windows Phone7.5 device over to a new Android phone. I'm looking at moving from an HTC Arrive up to a Note2. I know my contacts and such are on my Windows Skydrive and I also know that there is a Skydrive app for Android but I don't know if there's a way to allow it to sync over like it does on my WP.
