Motorola Droid :: Exchange Account Setup - Unable To Open Connection To Server

Nov 13, 2009

My company's exchange server is similar to mail.company.com/exchange, but when I put in that address, it removes the "/exchange" and it gives me an error saying "Unable to open connection to server". Is there a way around this, or am I stuck without the ability to sync my work email?

General :: Change Android Mail Client User-agent For Corporate Exchange

Nov 8, 2012

My company only allows mobile access to corporate e-mail through WIndows phone. As an Android advocate, i prefer my own mobile device.

My only two choices are to access through my Android Chrome browser or find a way to make my Jelly-bean Android mail app look like it is a Windows phone. ...or a 3rd part mail app that looks like a Windows/windows phone mail client

I prefer the mail client route as it keeps in sync with updates.

Motorola Droid X :: Corporate Exchange Calendars With Same Name / Color

Jul 22, 2010

I added my Corporate Sync (Exchange) account, and all 11 calendars that I have at work loaded. However, they all share the same name (i.e. the name I gave the account) and color. When I view the calendars at work, they all have a unique name. I can't find a way on the phone to change these calendars' names or colors.

Motorola Droid X :: Exchange Calendar And Corporate Sync

Oct 8, 2010

I have been getting the message 'as meeting organizer no response is required' in Outlook when people send me updates and I am not the meeting organizer. From reading around it seems it may be an issue with syncing the calendar which I have stopped but it did not fix the appointments.

I was looking for a way to do a one way sync or something but have not come across a way to do this in corporate sync. Not sure the issue but was hoping someone here may have seen the same issue. By the way email and contacts work just fine.

Motorola Droid X :: Corporate Email Exchange Got It Working

Sep 24, 2010

I tried Froyo to setup Exchange email and could not get it working. I could not get Touchdown to work either until I discovered my Microsoft ISA server, in front of my Exchange 2003 server, was not setup right. Once I got that setup ISA Server 2004: Supporting Both Basic and Forms-based Authentication with a Single External IP Address and Web Listener (v1.1) the sync started working greatThe benefits of Touchdown are immense and I am no longer interested in Froyo handling of Exchange email. I am an IT guy and will recommend this program to all my android folks.

Motorola Droid :: Corporate Contacts And Exchange Email

May 14, 2010

Everytime I use Corporate Directory to find someone on my company's exchange server to email, my only options for email's are my gmail account and my yahoo account but no exchange account. That doesn't make any sense to me and defeats the purpose of having corporate contacts. How do I make sure my exchange email account shows up as one of the options?

Motorola Droid :: Corporate (Exchange) Email Sorting?

Dec 29, 2009

Gradually getting used to using my Droid for Corporate Email & Calendar purposes no way I would ever take this thing back, but looking for solutions to the following:
I do not see a way to sort my inbox by "From" to group those emails together. I got spoiled on my BB Storm being able to touch and hold the sender and it would sort all emails. Is there a way to do this on the Droid?

Also, when I go into my "Sent" folder, all emails are shown by the person that the emails are from, which is ME, impossible to see who I sent the email to and have to look at the subject and open the email to have any idea about the content. There's got to be a way to change this to view by who the email was sent to, which is usually what you're looking for anyway.

Samsung Fascinate :: Multiple Corporate Sync (Exchange Accounts)

Sep 27, 2010

I've got two Corporate Exchange Accounts with which I want to be able to Sync both email and calendars with my Fascinate. My wife has the Motorola Droid 2 with Android 2.2 and it supports multiple Corporate Sync (Exchange) Accounts. (She has three exchange accounts - two part time jobs and one for personal). I bought the Fascinate, but after I got home realized it only will support one Corporate Sync account natively. I have downloaded and installed Touchdown temporarily to handle my second Exchange Account, but Touchdown also only supports one account. I'd much prefer to use the same application for both accounts so I can see my calendars overlayed.

As I understood it, Android 2.1 supported multiple exchange accounts, but I think Samsung made a decision to override that, by including an Email app on the Fascinate that only supports one account. Has anybody heard about Fascinate's Android 2.2 (Froyo) update and whether or not it will support multiple Corporate accounts? With the exception of not supporting Multiple Exchange accounts, this phone really hit it out of the park for me. Great screen, thin and light, fast, 3G Hotspot (so I can get rid of my aircard). I'm 4 days into my 30 days with Verizon. I hope we hear something about Fascinate's 2.2 update before then.

Samsung Fascinate :: Corporate Exchange Calendar Sync Not Updated

Sep 22, 2010

I set up my corp exchange email account and the email part of it works flawlessly. The calendar on the other hand is very quirky. On the first Sync I noticed that not ALL appointments were brought over from my Outlook Calendar. Upon researching it seems that the meetings not coming over are all recurring meetings. Some were from other people that I was invited too but most were recurring meetings I had created on my own calendar.

I did some testing to isolate the behavior:
Create single appointment in Outlook
It shows up perfectly on the Fascinate.
In outlook change the appointment to recur monthly
Appointment vanishes from Fascinate.
Remove recurrence from appointment in Outlook
It comes back to Fascinate.

The same behavior can be seen when creating a fresh appointment with recurrence. The problem seems to be isolated also to recurrence set for the "every third wednesday" or something similar. It works for monthly on the 20th for instance.

Firmware version is: 2.1-Update1
Build: SCH-I500.DI01 (downloaded today and did not correct sync issue)

Motorola Droid 2 :: Corporate Outlook / Exchange Sync - Push

Sep 10, 2010

I just got my D2 the other day and have it all setup, but something I've noticed differently from the D1 is that all my Outlook/Exchange e-mails take 5-10 minutes to be delivered even with the Push feature turned on. On the Droid 1, the messages were delivered instantly ometimes even before they arrived in my Outlook client at my desk.

I have it setup as a Corporate Sync account with all the same settings, but I feel like they have taken a step backwards with the Corporate Sync settings. I'm running 2.2.20 (rooted of course), but it's just a hit or miss when the messages come in. I did call VZW's tech line and the lady on the phone said there was some memo about this issue. She didn't mention if there was a work around, or if a fix is coming. It's almost as if the Sync button doesn't do anything.

Motorola Droid 2 :: Stuck In Outbox / Exchange Corporate Account

Oct 4, 2010

I have a Droid 2, brand new from Verizon. My company uses Exchange Server 2003 R2. No PIN is required, and OMA is set up for my account. I can receive emails to the phone with no problems; the setup was simple and the messages sync'd to the phone quickly. I can't send, reply, or forward messages. The messages stay in the outbox. The replies I seem to find on this topic online seem to be related to IMAP/POP accounts, and this is neither.

General :: Corporate Exchange Account Will Not Sync Shared Calendar?

May 16, 2012

I have an Exchange account with my school that I sync my email and contacts to my android phone with no problems. However, the school made a shared calendar for our class schedules that I added to my Exchange account (by adding the URL), but this calendar will not sync to my phone. If I create my own events in my personal calendar, that works fine and shows up, but the calendar that I added from the school will not. It shows up just fine on Outlook on the PC.

My current solution is to just add that calendar to my google account and sync it, but the problem with that is that our class schedules can sometimes change suddenly and gmail doesn't sync very often, which has led to some problems for me in the past. I would much rather have the direct syncing of the calendar to my phone instead of through google.

What makes it more aggravating is that my friend has no problem syncing the calendar with iOS, so I know it should be possible. I've tried using Touchdown but that has the same problem. Here is an image from the Outlook Web app showing both calendars

My phone: MyTouch 4G running ICS. I had this problem even on other GB roms.

HTC EVO 4G :: Blocks Access Exchange Server - Not Available For Android

May 23, 2010

I'll be new to Android starting on June 4th and I'll be retiring my Blackberry Tour. There are a few apps on my Blackberry that I really like and use daily. So I have a few questions for the Android gurus out there.

1. Exchange Email- I work for a Computer Company that blocks access to their Exchange Server and although I've requested access repeatedly, they deny me every time. Is there a work around for Android similar to the Blackberry Desktop Redirector?
2. Sirius/XM- I know it's not available yet for Android but I was wondering if anyone has an update on the future availability of this App for the Evo.
3. Password Keeper- I would not be able to survive without this App on my Blackberry. Is there something as good or better available on the Android Market?
4. Can anyone recommend a good Chess Application for the Evo?

Android : Reading Emails On MS Exchange Server

I am looking to make an application in which I have to read Email's from MS Exchange server. I tried to search on API's provided by Android 2.2 to do so but no luck yet. Is it possible to do so. Is android gave open APIs to read and reply email through MS exchange. As of now I am not very much worried about security and administrator policy, right now my other module of app is in pilot mode with few users. MS exchange read and reply can be a big boost to the feature list.

General :: Accessing Workplace Exchange Server Via Android

Jan 28, 2012

My workplace currently does not support the Android platform, and thus I cannot access the Microsoft Exchange server/Activesync from my phone.

Have any apps been developed that would possibly disguise my phone as an iPhone, or something similar, so I can receive e-mail via mobile? iOS is currently the only mobile platform they support, so that'd most likely be the easiest work-around.

I know someone who works in the data center, and he showed me the script they run every week to check if anything other than iPhones have accessed the server, which they then have the option to boot/wipe memory as needed.

Android :: Server Socket 3G Connection

Mar 3, 2010

I have been trying to setup a Droid to Droid 3G connection. I can confirm that all works great in wifi mode. The Droid can make connection requests (Http, Telnet, raw sockets) in 3G, but I cannot get the Droid to accept a socket connection in 3G mode. I was told by Verizon that a special license may be needed to accept socket connection requests and they would send me some information. So far none has been received. If anyone knows how to program the Droid to accept socket connection requests over 3G, please respond. Also if anyone knows why this not allowed please respond.

I have twice (since Friday) encountered an ActiveSync error to my corporate exchange server that I've only been able to fix by deleting and recreating the ActiveSync profile. the problem manifests itself as a perpetual unsuccessful attempt to sync and occurs seemingly randomly. Any suggestions or advice would be greatly appreciated. I've seen some threads referencing Touchdown but not sure this is the right solution for this problem on the EVO. Please don't tell me I need to go back to my Blackberry...Thanks!
